I think Mitchell let's this carry over to the floor, and his draft video in the other thread points some of these problems out and provides video as support. Look, I hope Tony gets drafted #1 and has a Hall of Fame worthy career, so maybe we can let all of this die away and just support the young man as he starts his NBA career.

Maybe we can also support Coach Benford and the program heading into his second season here. If we have another season, results wise, like last year then we can go looking for another coach, but let's let the season play out prior to jumping to conclusions.

It is difficult to tell from the drawings, and it is obviously will be quite an improvement over their current stadium, but I just don't prefer the "skin over erector set" style. I love Apogee because of the brick and concrete construction and the feeling of permanence in the costruction. The erector set style, much like old Texas Stadium, always leave me with a feeling of the project never being completed. Again though, this will be a big improvement over Robertson, but it doesn't fix the problem of location.

I've always thought he was good at the job and enjoy what he brings to the game.

That said, I've also wondered if there's opportunity to engage the fans/community in the booth.

What if the 3rd quarter were to feature a second person in the booth with him offering "color commentary" of some kind? Maybe you have some tailgate/attendance competition between the greeks and the winning president joins him in the booth for the quarter? Maybe an aspiring sports journalist at a local high school would attract his classmates/friends or school as a whole? Maybe a semi-celebrity or "the voice of Big Tex" could be promo-worthy draw?

Just a passing thought.

This would be something for George and Hank. I don't think you want color commentary over the stadium system. Also, the calling of names is up to the spotter feeding him the names unless you meant he doesn't pronounce the names correctly, then it is on him.

I have always thought he did a pretty good job. He's called games forever and it would seem odd to hear someone else, at least for me.

here are a few more interesting facts

1. north Texas did not start playing football until 1913 and SMU was founded in 1911 so it would have been impossible for TCU and north Texas to have played football before SMU was founded....you know 1913 - 2013......the whole 100 years of north Texas football thing

2. the AAC only has 3 private schools total....Tulane, Tulsa, and SMU.......only two of those schools were ever in the WAC......and one of the two schools that was in the WAC was SMU and SMU was the school that UH joined with specifically to move to the AAC together.......so it would be impossible that UH would be upset about being stuck with "the same lot of private schools that they griped about taking from the WAC in 2005" because only two schools from the WAC are in the AAC and one of those schools UH specifically wanted to join with to move to the AAC with.....so Tulsa the other private school WAC team in the AAC is not a "lot" because a "lot" implies more than one......and there is only one former WAC private school that UH would be able to complain about being associated with (if they were complaining about that which I have never seen those complaints because they are made up in your head) because the other former WAC private school in the AAC UH specifically associated with to move to the AAC

3. it would be difficult for UH to be griping about any "lot" of private schools in the AAC because there are only 3 total and one of them is SMU that UH wanted to be associated with to go to the AAC which only leaves two others that UH might not want to be associated with (or that you are making up in your head that UH does not want to be associated with) and two really does not equal a "lot"

4. you have no clue what you are talking about
