  1. I believe CaliMeanGreen is closely related to Coach Chico.
  2. Jones doesn't know any other offense, but to air it out. I see very little change in what they do.
  3. We needed some of our H-town alumni to show up at Dave and Buster's last night.
  4. They played the "Dave and Buster's" card?! Damn them!
  5. Oh, I don't think Hines should be a shoe in for the job, but he does have great experience, has a connection to Denton and should get a look. Here's his experience: 92-93: GA @ La Tech 94-98: TE's @ La Tech 99-00: WR's @ La Tech 01-06: OC/WR's @ La Tech He coached WR's under Canales and then became the interim OC when Canales briefly replaced Dodge. He now coaches at Ryan High. It appears he wasn't a strong recruiter, based on La Tech fan's comments, but was strong with the players once on campus. I think we need someone strong in both areas. Let's go get Norv Turner.
  6. He served in that role when Chico was the interim HC and did a very good job in my estimation. I believe he has served in that capacity at La Tech in the past.
  7. I would like to see Conroy Hines come back.
  8. China Spring is a good program. My in-laws live in that area and I have seen them play a few times over the last few years. Not a bad little pipeline with Chapman and Boutwell. If Pullen can be as productive as these two, then we've got a winner.
  9. Yep, good work Eddie. Some people just complain for the sake of complaining.
  10. I figured we had dropped the offer after Ivery committed but I am not finding him listed any more.
  11. This may have already been posted, but I saw on the etsn.com website that we have offered the following: DB: Nate Brooks from Whitehouse. He is 6'0", 150lbs. and also has an offer from La Tech
  12. Really, you are going to compare this to the Penn State scandal? Sometimes you just keep reaching down and picking up turds.
  13. These morons say we need to work on punting and then state that the work of the freshmen kickers, Paul and Macek, was a bright spot.
  14. Speaking of jerseys, I like our green jerseys and white jerseys, but have always wanted the numbers to be outlined in black.
  15. This is another reason Coach Mac's extension "for life" is a good thing. He is extremely well connected. I love this hire because he knows how to recruit, build a program, has been a winner all his life, and can point to the NFL for examples of his former players/recruits. Mac's connections along with our size and location make us the big dog on the CUSA porch.
  16. If Coach Mac were 40 and unproven, then I would be concerned, but he will likely coach 5 more years at the most. Plus, his personality will not allow him to "rest on his laurels" and coast. He is committed to building this program, has shown he knows what he is doing, connects with students and fans of all ages, is a great representative for North Texas, brings passion to the position that I have never seen at North Texas and brings respect to our program. Great move.
  17. Plumm, you have made a couple of comments about traffic. I've always thought the traffic plan in place was excellent and got people out and on the road pretty quickly. Have you had other experiences?
  18. With a loaded backfield and little to no experience at QB, I think that is to be expected. I just hope Orr, Sir Calvin, Polk, Watson, Lincoln, Mason, etc... are ready for that challenge.
  19. I agree with most of the above. 1. Continue to cultivate and change the current culture of the students on campus. I noticed a big, positive change in their attendance, pride and involvement in the game this year. 2. Capitalize on the success of this season and the HOD Bowl win. Contact every person that bought a ticket, a t-shirt, bought tickets to the tailgate, rode the A-Train, etc... about purchasing tickets for next year and joining the Mean Green Club. 3. Continue to work with the DTA to provide train and shuttle service to all home games. This will become vitally important as the work on I35E begins. 4. Cross market with the businesses, bars, restaurants, etc... downtown convenient to the train station and make Game Day and all day/night event with specials for fans with ticket stubs or wearing North Texas gear. 5. Steal a page from that school down south's marketing strategy and partner with a local wing establishment where diners receive a couple of free "wing zone" seats with a dinner purchase. I think it looks like a tail section, but the establishments in Dallas "pushing tail" are questionable and I am not sure we would want to be associated with them. 6. DISD program where kids that make straight A's the first six weeks, or whatever, receive a voucher for free tickets and call it Scrappy's Scholars.
  20. I don't understand the "oh, what might have been" replies. I read this to mean we could have been so much better with Berglund under center, yet none of us saw him play except in the spring game. I saw that game and while his athleticism was impressive, he didn't really impress me as a QB. I wish BB well and hope he has found a home at Northern Colorado. I also agree with 86, get your degree Brock and best of luck.
