  1. I guess the biggest question marks I have formed over my head is how the defense, albeit improved can be so maddeningly inconsistant. One series, they stuff the run, pressure the quarterback and make Rice's offense look feeble. One series later they give up big plays and the corners drop easy pickoff opportunities. I don't share the venomous feelings toward Dodge that some other posters do, but I do believe a change at head coach is necessary to end the culture of failure that permeates this program. We cannot allow the momentum of opening our new stadium to be derailed by failure upon failure. That all being said, I hope the best for coach Dodge and the Mean Green in our remaining 10 games and I would welcome them proving me wrong. GO MEAN GREEN!!!
  2. SMUt is relevant in D1 intercollegiate athletics like La. Tech is relevant in intercollegiate athletics which is... drum roll please... NADA!!!!!
  3. Now, let's send Rice home next weekend with a crushing defeat (and their respect too). Go Mean Green!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I like that kool aid you're drinking. Feel free to share. +1 for boundless positivity.
  5. Why should it matter what anybody at 103.3 thinks about us? Check the latest ratings... NOBODY listens to their crap anyway. The Ticket beats the lips off of both 103.3 and the Fan every day.
  6. Exactly... We need to play to our strength, the o-line, and get some sustained drives going. I'm talking about some 12-15 play drives that chew up clock, yardage, and hopefully, wear down the Clemson D. Lance has an opportunity for a career defining game here and with a little trickeration mixed in along the way, this thing can be very competitive.
  7. After a tour of their boards, I can safely say that issue has been crossed many more times than not. That, and the meth labs around Ruston must put out a fine product.
  8. I don't want to give ANY credibility to Coker's comments but, to give the devil his due... At least he's making some kind of noise and at this point maybe that trumps our "wait and see" attitude. As crazy as Coker looks and sounds, he's getting exposure for his program and as they say... the squeaky wheel does get the grease. Maybe a little more chest thumping on our part wouldn't be such a bad thing.
  9. Even a weakened MWC is a huge step up from the Belt and with TCU as a travel partner/natural rival, I'd jump at an opportunity to join. (If said opportunity ever was available )
  10. ponyscott said... UNT is still tier 2 and even with SMU's issues we could still whup your sorry green arses. -giggle- Remember what Matt Simon said about the Safeway parking lot? The same offer applies to SMUt basketball. Feel free to schedule us. Those silver spoons they were born with in their mouths would look funny protruding from a different orifice.
  11. As long as the other side scores less than 100, it's all good!
  12. At least when their players bleed on the field, no one will know the difference.
  13. Rick, we've never met in person, but I'm with you in spirit. My prayers are for peace and strength for you and your family. Kurt G.
  14. I'm thinking a waterless urinal would look great in my garage. I'm just sayin'.
  15. That would be the late, great Howard Cosell BTW, he said "nattering nabob of negativism"
  16. I can't imagine both Clemson and KSU having down years of that magnatude. Even if they were both weaker this season, they are "name" programs that having victories over would look very good on our resume. I don't see anyone in the Belt with the possible exception of Troy or Muts that could match the talent either of these two teams bring. My point being, beating one or both, would be a good sign that we have a squad that could win the Belt this year. Therefore, I vote C, All of the Above.
  17. The point I haven't seen made yet, is if we beat Clemson and/or K.State, it would be an indication of a strong 2010 campaign that would almost certainly land us a bowl bid. It's not an either/or situation necessarily.
  18. With the trade today that sent Eddie Najara to Charlotte, the Mavs just may be in need of a defensive minded, strong, good rebounding energy guy to fill that role. Eric Tramiel maybe...??? Hmmmm.......
  19. RIP, Boss... George gave Yankee fans a lot of good times and fellow MLB owners a lot of fits. Love the evil empire or hate it, you gotta respect what he did with that franchise.
  20. LaTech (and those hillbillies on their boards) need UNT in their conference a hell of a lot more than we need any of them. I voted earlier in one of the "UNT to the WAC" polls in the affirmative. I am officially reversing field on that vote. The WAC is a doomed conference whose teams will soon be looking for homes even in the Sun Belt which they almost universally show disdain for. Maybe the Southland Conference has room for LaTech during their next expansion.
