  1. Thank God we stopped being politically correct hippies with no spines...Scrappy has more bite to it than Eppy.
  2. No kidding about these kids being full of themselves....if they ever put uniforms back on, they should allow them to put their nicknames on the back of the jerseys..."INIT4ME" and "ALLBOUTME". These kids have forgotten what it is like to be on a team and what the deffinition of team is. I am very proud of what Coach Dodge is doing, and support him in every way. At the kickoff picnic, when some members of the team were autographing balls, it was "yes, sir" and "thank you sir", and I am only 35...I was very impressed. Coach Dodge is the leader and if he has a certain way that he wants his team to dress, act, and be viewed on and off the field, that is his right. I dont know if anyone else feels this way, but the coaches actions remind me of another great coach....Bobby Knight. (minus certain emotional outburst) He expects his players to act a certain way and does not put up with crap...You have to respect that attitude!
  3. Anytime I get down about this season, I always think back to the 1989 Dallas Cowboys when newly hired head coach Jimmy Johnson lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 1-15 season. How many of us Cowboy fans were screaming for Tom Landry back? Four years later Jimmy Johnson had a Super Bowl win. Not exactly the same scenario, but it shows what a great coach can do with a program that people believe in. You have to believe.....
  4. I just found my new screen saver!
  5. I was lucky enough to go to the game today...having a wife from Tech, you tend to do those things. The only reason this was a sell out was due to the Texas Tech fans, and it had to be 75% TT there. They have their "RAIDER" - - "POWER" chant (similar to our "NORTH" "TEXAS"), and they had both sides of the stadium going back and forth with one another...and it was echoing off the walls....VERY IMPRESSIVE being that TT was the visiting team. if I was an SMU fan there, I would have fealt like I was in Lubbock. One thing that got old was the CHEESY announcer about SMU's "Third Down Thunder"....dear God this was a beating!!! Also, I hope we are bringing the band to SMU, because it will be nice for them to over power the "Mr. Peppermint" band they have...yes, they have red and white striped jackets with white pants....hence the Mr Peppermint Band. The parking was easy, we parked at the Radisson on the North bound service road, just north of Mockingbird, and walked to the game...easy in and easy out. We also arrived an hour and a half before kickoff. See everyone on Saturday...GMG
  6. GreenFlag, how about calling ahead of time and see if they can give us a big room for everyone at let them know that their location had been selected as the "official" UNT vs. OU watching party??? You dont have anything else to do today do you?
  7. I am in Plano/Murphy and I will be at the Lewisville Fox and Hound. It would be nice to have one location for us all to meet at.
  8. Without any question, the Tavern is the place for everything fun in Denton. (STG)
  9. Jerry Glanville (born October 14, 1941) is a career American football coach. During his time in the National Football League, he coached the Houston Oilers (now known as the Tennessee Titans) (1985-1989), and the Atlanta Falcons (1990-1993). He became infamous to some fans for trading (now-) superstar quarterback Brett Favre to the Green Bay Packers in 1991; less remembered is the fact that Favre was an erratic, rookie back-up as a Falcon. Glanville has also worked as an analyst on HBO's Inside the NFL, CBS's The NFL Today and FOX's coverage of the NFL. He is currently the defensive coordinator for the University of Hawaii's football team. While still coaching in the NFL, Glanville was famous for often leaving tickets at will-call for the late Elvis Presley, wearing all-black in honor of Johnny Cash, and driving replicas of vehicles driven by James Dean. [1]. Who wouldnt love this guy!
  10. Yep, that was a bat flying around tonight. Can we change it now to the "Bat Cave" instead of the "Super Pit"?
  11. While multiple events lead to the Mean Green losing tonight, having the monitor on the table is a terrible hind sight that lead to our ultimate inability to review the play that made the game. You would think that for a Div. 1 school we would have a monitor for such an occasion...as long as we have a monitor on the table for the next game, we can say we learned our lesson..if not, shame on us.
  12. No problem for me joining either. Last year they had some issue where a handful of us did not have the automatic draft like we had wanted, but Mandy got involved and had it cleared up...Just wish I could get my blanket!
  13. I am looking forward to the day when we get to play and beat Texas Tech again!
  14. I wasnt exactly sure where to put this, but I thought we could all use a pick me up after the recent loss to WKU. "LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Some Bowling Green, Ky., police officers found more than they bargained for after stopping by a Western Kentucky University fraternity party early Thursday. The officers discovered a live goat stuffed into a storage room of the Alpha Gamma Rho house with no food or water, standing in its own urine and feces, according to WBKO-TV in Bowling Green. The authorities cited 19-year-old Trenton Dakota Jackson with a second-degree count of cruelty to animals. Officials aren't sure why the goat was in the storage room and don't know how long the goat had been held captive. Some of the students told police the goat was going to be used in a hazing ritual. Brian Peyton, the president of Western's Alpha Gamma Rho chapter, said the goat was brought in as a prank, to make some pledges think they would have to have sex with it, WBKO reported. But Peyton told the TV station that the incident wasn’t related to hazing. He said that nobody actually was going to have sex with the goat, the TV station reported. The goat was sent to the Warren County Humane Society so it could be examined by a veterinarian. The fraternity has been ordered to stop all activities during an investigation. Alpha Gamma Rho has been cited for hazing three times since 1996. The executive director of Alpha Gamma Rho's national organization in Kansas City, Mo., said he's also suspended the fraternity chapter. The organization will send someone to the university to investigate the allegations and cooperate with university officials, director Philip Josephson said." Bundy
  15. Well I just heard from a reliable source that Marlin Miller just signed with the Ragin Cajuns....I think we will all be looking back this coming Nov 11th when we see him in action in Cajun Country and surprised how he slipped through our fingers.
  16. Those are his stats, and they are accurate. I am just wondering how we can get someone from UNT to take a look at him??? I know all the coaches or anyone else needs to do is request a tape of him from the Rowlett Football Coach.
  17. Not that I post much, but I came across this kid, and found he has not decided on a home, and thought....hey UNT is a good place to play! I know he is looking at Abilene Christian, Tarlten State, Midwestern, and La-La...seems like UNT might be a good fit for him, his name is Marlin Miller a Senior at Rowlett H.S.
