How great would it be to go down to Hot Springs and starting at noon watch all the boys games in one gym but no, the stupid Sun Belt has it set up where the men's games are going on at the same time. What is the logic behind that, is that just so a university's men's and women's team wont be playing at the same time? The greatest thing about going to Austin for the state tournament is watching all the games and the matchups unfold, when the conference tournament was here at the Pit it was awesome watching all the games but now you cant do that. Instead you get 2 men's game a day. Why dont they put all the men's game in one arena and all the women's game in the other arena for Saturday and Sunday?

Its funny to me how when things are bad everyone talks down on what we have accomplished but when we were 13-2 everyone was giddy. Now that we are playing terrible everyone says our schedule was terrible and our record was an abberation. If we were 22-5 right now, nobody would be complaining about our schedule and everyone would be estatic about the season. I am not giving excuses but its not like the teams we played are the worst teams in their respective conferences. Texas State is leading the Southland and UTA and SHSU are both at the top and have a chance to win the league. Jackson St and Texas Southern are 1 and 2 in their conference and head and shoulders above their league, Tech is not good but they do have 4 wins in a tough Big 12 and just beat Baylor yesterday, LSU is not good but I will take a 20 point win at any SEC team's place. And Rice isnt good but they arent the worst team in the Conference USA. So what i am saying is our record wasnt build against the worst teams in the country. And besides SHSU we won all those games and did what we were supposed to do. But what we have done in conference is just mind boggling. I think everyone wishes they could pinpoint the exact problem. I think the main problem has been the lack of defensive fundamentals. We may be the worst defensive team in America. Its crazy to me how we play no help defense, we are always out of position and how we can have our backs turned to the ball when that is a golden rule in man to man to never turn your back to the ball. I just dont understand the lack of fundamentals we show on the defensive end.

Call me crazy but i think this is a good thing. If somehow miraculously we find our mojo back then the best thing for us would be to keep playing. The more you play the sharper you are. Remember what happened the first year we won it. But as of right now it is a moot point if we cant win any game. Time for Josh and George to step it up, we go as they go.

I cant decide if i want to or not. I want to but i was out earlier today and it takes forever to get around. Not sure if it is worth it or not.

Do we know why? I often wondered why WKU or even South Alabama didnt play in it that one year?

Does anyone know when those are set and what are the chances that we could play in a game this year or even host a game. Almost all of the games are televised so it would be great exposure for us and help our RPI. It would be awesome if we could play ODU, Missouri St, or George Mason or somebody like that. If there was any year to play one of these games it would be this year.

being there last night and being at pretty much every home game the last 10 years, i thought there was about 2500 there last night and was thinking that if the students were here it would have been a good crowd. I would be surprised that when schools starts back if we dont have 4,000 to 5,000 to finish the season. I was actually pleasantly surprised last night being that it was a rainy and horrible night against a d-2 right after X-Mas.

Just think how bad we would have won if we had a true point guard, a true center, if JJ coached defense or if he would have used all of his timeouts !

So do you want a certificate or something skiver for knowing a lick about college basketball or what ?

Sounds like they already had their man and that he was never really given a shot? Playing hypothetical here but what if we would have won by 2 or 3 touchdowns today, what would they have said to justify not keeping Canales ? Who doesnt want to keep a guy who instantly turned these guys into winners, someone who really gave his heart and soul to this program and someone the kids loved to play for. I wish nothing but the best for Canales and i will instantly be a fan of whatever program he goes to.

We score right at the end of the half and i thought for sure we would be going in at 14-7 and getting the ball back to start the third. But we cross arms and get a stupid 15 yard penalty for it. He crossed his arms, big effin deal. Man college football wears me out sometimes with this rule. Now we give them the ball inside our 50 and the momentum swings back their way after it takes them no time to score to make it 21-7. That call, to me, was the biggest play of the game. The game is totally different if it is 14-7 at half, with us going in with the momentum.

Cant believe no one has said the Memphis game. Going for 10 wins and probably would have been the peak in that era. I remember Cobbs getting a long run and it got called back and it was a back breaker. Our great defense just couldnt quite get a stop when needed in that game.

For some reason i was thinking about the Championship teams while reading the new edition of Dave Campbell's and i for the life of me cant think of the linebacker they had during those runs that was like the 4th linebacker but he was very good. I think he came from a juco and it wasnt Spencer, Casey, Kassell or Hurd but i am pretty sure he was #51 and i want to say his last name was Wyatt????? I need some help.

Whatever we do, i hope we figure it out early and stick with it all year. It seems like the last 2 or 3 years we have started slow trying to figure out different lineups and then we catch fire down the stretch. I want us in sync from the get go. It will be interesting to see how the minutes are distributed next year. Shorter was a starter this year, Dom the year before and no doubt Collin needs minutes too. Then you have Edwards, Holmen, Hogans, and Cam that will distribute the minutes. Man we are deep though.

Well JJ and the boys beat SHSU twice last year.

I really liked Stewart and he contributed big time in our tourney run in 07. But Holmen will be better than Stewart, more skills, better athlete and a 3 point jump shot.

I think Holmen will be very good. He has a nice 15-18 foot jumper, can play around the basket, is very athletic. Its amazing what experience and maturing does for you. I think he will be very good. Alzee came on late and i think he is going to be very good as well. I would like to see us go get a lights out shooting guard, preferably a freshman.

Did the team come back last night or are they coming back today? I was wondering if there was going to be a welcoming party and pep rally type deal when they got back ?

What is the convention center set up like ? Is it a nice venue or is it crappy ? How have the crowds and atmosphere been? I will be there next year for sure and I hope they change the format. I would want to watch all the men's game in one day. So have all the men's games in one arena. Sucks that you guys cant watch the MTSU game or watch the Troy game b/c 2 of the games will be going on at the same time.
