I honestly think we will turn the corner this year and this schedule helps. I think some of those close losses will turn into wins b/c of experience. I could see 6-8 wins this year.

I think the biggest factor in us winning it all is Eric staying out of foul trouble. We werent the same team without him and I want to say we are 12-2 when he came back. With those 2 losses being to ASU and MTSU. The ASU game he didnt start and didnt play a ton of minutes and the MTSU game he was in foul trouble and didnt hardly play and we still had a chance to win it with a minute left. We are just a completely different team with him in there. So please please Eric stay out of foul trouble.

Complete BS. George should be 1st team. Reed should have been 1st team instead of Rhonert and Josh or TT should have been 2nd team with Rohnert being 3rd team.

I think i would have to take Reed over Hazzard. You can make an argument for Josh for 2nd team. I hope he gets it.

I was hoping it would be bigger but what a great crowd and atmosphere last night !

Its kind of depressing to see the attendance numbers for the MVC. Last night Illinois St had 7K, Missouri St. had 7,900 and Bradley had over 9K. I am hoping for at least 5K. WKU at ASU had over 6K last week.

I say if we get a good student turnout then it will be 5K, if we get a great student turnout then it will be 6K.

What happens when they flood or over-load your zone? Then your out-manned.

I am not saying or inferring that it was a dumb idea, i was just curious if they thought they were going to be able to fill it consistently or if it was going to be used for other events. Did they used to hold concerts there ?

I know we have had 5K for Sun Belt games, have we ever had 6K for a Sun Belt game? Be nice to hit 6k tomorrow

I am just curious, what was the thinking of building it so big. It holds what, almost 11K, right ? I know there used to be big crowds in the Snake Pit, so did they think there would be big crowds at the Super Pit as well or did they plan on making it an events type center where it could be used for a lot different things ? I want to say and i would have to look back for sure but the first year it was opened it average about 5K but ever since then it hasnt been close to averaging that. There has only been like 6 or 7 years since it has been opened that it averaged more than 3K for a season. Its a wonderful venue and I wish that we could average 5 to 6K a game but not sure if we ever will again. So for the people that were around during that time, what were the thoughts ?

That was un-warranted jab against me. My intent was never to dis-respect the past. I have been to pretty much every home games since the Trilli era so I would say that i have a little pride in my school. All I did was list the facts. It has been bothering me that people were complaining about JJ considering this hasnt really ever been a powerhouse but that doesnt discount the past teams. I was just calling a spade a spade. And as far as you go FFR, i dont know why you dont have the same pride for our current team, head coach and program as you do about the past teams and players. Just this year you have said that we play no defense and that is all coaching. You have said that JJ has figured out a formula that has him schedule just enough patsies in 29 game schedule to keep his job until 2025. After a big win at WKU your first comments were "we stole that game." Instead of saying what a big victory it was and giving the team credit. JJ gets an extension and your first comments are "i dont understand the timing." Which to me made it sound like you didnt agree. Then you say when Thomas leaves, "how in the hell can a coaching staff let a kid leave with 3 weeks left." Come to find out he had a serious situation. I consider you one of the biggest fans of UNT and i didnt understand why you werent more enthusiastic about what the b-ball program has going.

After looking at the stats I think Johnson definitely should be POY.

Still dont have an idea how they will determine Player of the Year and 1st team honors. I am not so sure that Reed from ASU shouldnt be POY. Then you have so many to decide from and even 4 from our team that should at least get a little consideration. Where will Tyren Johnson, Yates, Slaughter, Hazzard, Rhonert, Pettigrew, and i am sure i am missing some others but you have to add George, Josh, Eric and Tristan at least in the discussion. Then looking at it, I am not sure if it could fall like this but if it could this would be the best scenario for us. And that is MTSU getting the 1 seed, us the 2 and Troy getting the 3rd seed. Then i would want WKU and ASU to be 4 and 5 with FAU getting the 6 seed. That would mean WKU-ASU and MTSU would all play while we get FAU and Troy. Just my thoughts, anyway.

I am not really sure if you are saying i was belittling the past teams or not but I never belittled them, i was just pointing out facts. And what do i not get? Please point out when we were a consistent winner in the last 30 years? We had a stretch where we won 20 games 3 straight years in the 70s and had 2 seasons where we won 17 games. So in 30 years before JJ we had 5 seasons where we won 17 games, thats it. So that means we had 25 basketball seasons of 16 or less wins. In the last 4 years we have won 23, 20, 20, and at least 19. Is there something you have against JJ ? Seems like anytime you get a chance to sneak a shot at JJ or the team you do and to me it doesnt make sense. He may not be what you want or what you expect or the team may not be what you want but how can you argue with our sucess? Remember, men lie, women lie, but numbers dont lie. Also i have no problem admitting that i had no clue about West Texas State and other things like that. I was completely wrong. But it is funny to me that you wont admit you were wrong about criticizing the staff about the Richard Thomas situation.

Thank you UntJim for your post. For whatever reason i feel like someone on here as a personal vendetta against me. My whole point this whole time is i dont understand how people could be so critical of JJ when this place has not had a great basketball past. And i pointed that out by putting the records of the prevous 30 seasons before JJ got here and you could see how futile it was. I know i got some facts wrong about teams and their conferences but it still doesnt discount the fact that there has been no consistent winner here and since JJ has got here he has won and graduated players.

This is just another chance for some people to slam the coaching staff. I dont get it. Maybe he had a sick family member or something? I am pretty sure that the staff did all it could.

What happens if ASU, MTSU lose tomorrow? That would make us, Troy, MTSU, and ASU all 10-5? I guess we will be still be #3 but man what a mess. Also lets hope that WKU wins and FAU loses at FIU. As of right now it looks like we will be the 3 seed and we need WKU to be the 4 or the 5, i want no part of them until later on. It would suck if we get the 3 and they are 6 and our first game is them.

Something must have went on that we dont know about. I wonder if he got in some trouble? He was a long way away from home, he is from NY so that might have played a role in it. Also i noticed that he didnt play against Denver and his body language was of a person that wasnt very happy. Best of luck to him.
