  1. You and I both grew up here and you know the city by and large supports winning programs. We see this at the high school levels and to some degree we have seen it with basketball over the last 4 years. But our AD does little to try and get fans out. Charging what we charge for GA tickets for the product we roll out, along with parking, doesn't bring people in. For as long as I have been a UNT fan, our AD has always wanted to be "big time" with a subpar product.
  2. We, the fans are talking about it, but administration is not discussing this. Heck the moderators here took down a thread about it. We could go 0-12 or 1-11 and he won't be fired.
  3. At schools dedicated to winning, I would agree with you. But not at UNT. I can't figure it out, but it's been this way for so long. It's why I think we should drop football and pour all of our money into basketball. I don't think Gonzaga fans sit around and wish they had football.
  4. This season is lost. With Dodge, we knew after game 1 we were in trouble. OU could have put a 100 on us that day without blinking. You are right, this season is over. This is Benford bad. Sadly, it will take years to right what this year will do to do this program. If you can't stop the other offense, it doesn't matter how many points you can score. Blows my mind how we just continue to hire the wrong up and comer hire after hire after hire in football.
  5. I don't think he benched him. Someone above said he took him out because he was tight.
  6. This would admit failure and they are not going to do it this early. Morris is turning into a Benford hire. FIU put over 500 yards on us tonight. I seriously don't think there is a win on the schedule.
  7. We are stuck this year. They won't fire any of these coaches this year. Mendoza was a horrid and he lasted a full season.
  8. So we get hammered in the opener by a backup and lose to FIU to a QB in his second game. Not sure this team wins a game this season.
  9. Good point. We just can't ever seem to hire a better coach to build on what the other coach did. Going to be a long season.
  10. he has a loooooooooooooooooooooong ways to go to beat Todge for that one.
  11. Denton county is at a million people, with the University at 47,000 students, and tens of thousands of alumni in the DFW area and we still have never sold out our stadium of 30,000. Why is that? I contend because we roll out basically, the same product, year after year.
  12. No, you are right. Today is yet another example of why I believe we should blow up football and pour all of our money and NIL, donor support into basketball. Thankfully I gave up spending money on football years ago because it basically was the same thing over and over. Anyone that really though Morris was going to do anything different was drinking the koolaid. This team will be lucky to win 3 games.
  13. I have been saying for a year we should just be a basketball school. Football is just hire a new coach every 4 years or so and it's pretty much the same from year to year.
  14. Well if this is the case, then we should see much more money in terms of donors giving. We certainly have not seen it reflected yet in the NIL collective.
  15. So we can't even keep our players from going to our rivals. Wow.
  16. I don't disagree with this at all and as you said in a post above, we have a HUGE untapped alumni base, but so far, no one has been able to tap into much of it. We still have too many who want to do it either "their way" or the old school way when it comes to trying to get support from Denton and our massive alums. Until that changes, it will just be more of the same.
  17. Could not agree more. Much easier to get it going and then you have far more money to spend on the NIL. NIL is going to kill football as we know it. We think football has been a struggle as of late...just wait. Since 1990 we are 145 - 232 in football.
  18. Probably not now. Word is Muss needed a commitment by last night and Perry wanted to take more visits so Hogs moved on
  19. I gave up on Spring practices showing us anything after the first spring game with Dodge. We all thought the team looked good that year.
  20. So of all of the successful basketball programs that don't have football, UTA is the one you went with? Just a question: would you drop football to have the success of Gonzaga in basketball? Or maybe Providence? Marquette? We have a MUCH better chance at winning a NC in basketball then we do in football.
