  1. Why not leave him in place? Well, because I, for one, will never donate a dime to UNT basketball again. Ever. No matter if UNT wins a national title. But they won't, because it's obvious they don't care about men's basketball. Those that don't care don't win. I've come to the realization that the UNT administration will never care about athletics near as much as the alums that are fans of the program. It will just never, ever happen. It's the reason UNT is the joke of FBS colleges in Texas. And if you think there aren't those out there that agree with me, look at the number of grads that live locally and then look at the number that give two craps about UNT athletics. I'm very much in the majority, and UNT made me that way. The decision to allow this absolute disaster of a coach to walk away from destroying this program with zero consequences will kill it for others, I'm sure. But continue on dumping money into something that will never, ever give you anything back if you must...
  2. I expect UNT to be better. To hire better. It's clear at this point that UTSA made a much better hire. Not even close. You, on the other hand, will accept the constant suck that is UNT athletics. You will defend, and have defended, low expectations and low results. Its the reason UNT has sucked at everything for an awful long time.
  3. Well, you have the same exact top and mid-managers that were there under RV. Why would things be different?
  4. For recruiting like a lower tier Sun Belt school. Then again, that's what you and your former employer are fine with, isn't it?
  5. He could start by firing the basketball coach. It's long overdue. Then don't try to pump sun shine up our rear and tell us how great this class is. Just don't comment about it at all. That will send a message. What he can't do is sit on his ass and continue to "evaluate." That act is beyond old
  6. Will there be any consequences for recruiting the 12th ranked class in CUSA? Will we see assistant coaches replaced? Will the recruiting coordinator be held accountable? Or will we continue to be UNT.
  7. You include who sign an LOI on national signing day (and those who sign one shortly after). that is your class.
  8. Of course you do. This day is a huge F. Anyone objectively analyzing this class would assign that grade. Have you looked at those 5 guys offer sheets? You should, because they are terribly inimpressive. This class means Littrell will be a disaster in year 4 unless he has the #1 class next year. Its looking like Littrell is more likely to be a 3 or 4 and done guy. This class will not be easy to recover from...
  9. "UNT won a recruiting battle with Abilene Christian." Seriously, @Brett Vito, when you have to highlight that as a good event in recruiting, the recruiting class sucks. I don't know if you are on the AD's payroll or if they have paid enough attention to you and provided you enough perks where you feel indebted to them (the old RV trick), but anyone who knows anything about college football would classify this recruiting class as a major, major disappointment. But, hey, why hold anyone accountable, right?
  10. No, it isn't. Otherwise it would be rated as such. Saying it on an Internet forum doesn't make it so.
  11. Jimmy and Joes. Counting on gridiron miracles year after year isn't a healthy program plan. Deep down you know this. Denial is the strongest human emotion. @BillySee58 Did UNT win one recruiting battle against any conference foe? Honest question.
  12. Ruins a good narrative, doesnt it? Benford isn't half the recruiter JJ was, but at UNT, never let facts get in the way of the justification of suck.
  13. Yet UTSA coaches faced the exact same problems and perceptions and got the job done. Major staff changes are needed if this is the best recruiting they got in them.
  14. After this recruiting class, I gave him a C, which won't get it done here. We really needed an A hire. This class doesn't provide much hope that this is the case.
  15. Jury is still out, but this recruiting class indicates that this may be a very bad hire. And no crap. I obviously have zero idea how Baker feels about Littrell, but I promise you if he were to tell you his true feelings, he would tell you that he is very disappointed in this recruiting class.
  16. Hiring a head coach before you hire an AD is idiotic and a terrible management decision. But UNT didn't have the balls to get rid of RV at the time. Another terrible management decision, as he was allowed to schedule a couple of more awful home football games between DMac's firing and his own. Has it occurred to you that you have zero freaking idea what Baker's true feelings are about Littrell? Because he would never, ever, tell you? Do you understand that?
  17. And UNT's refusal to fire RV at the same time as DMac led to an AD being saddled with a coach that he didn't pick. Only at UNT is RV allowed to hang around for 15 years and then completely cut out of the coaching hire process and not fired. You want to know why UNT continuously sucks? Look at great management decisions such as this.
  18. Yelp, another loss by this staff who is proving they can't recruit...
  19. That would be a terrible outcome. Come on, Vito. That parking pass should only go so far...
  20. Because they are our completion for a CUSA title? Because they provide a like comparison to see how we are doing in recruiting?
  21. Bradley tweeted that he will sign at 11. Still has "UNT commit" posted on his twitter account.
  22. Bradley wasn't our highest thought of player. He had an offer from UNT and Tulsa until Houston came in late. That's it. I really like him, but am smart enough to know that is probably my prejudice showing through.
