  1. No doubt, and I don't take it as a criticism at all. I got re-interested in 2008. Funny thing is, finding this board had a lot to do with it. Amazingly, friends became uninterested when I started taking about UNT athletics. I had no idea anyone cared until stumbling across Harry's site one day. Some life events also freed up time, specifically nights and weekends, which allowed game attendance and season ticket purchase. If I knew the frustration it would bring, I wonder if my decisions might have been different. ?
  2. You think we are arguing, I think we are finally communicating.
  3. 24 and I have a club seat wager on him taking the field this year. 24 thinks he will.
  4. Not to mention, DD was proven right. And it only took the UNT administration 10 years to figure it out. DD had the Hattiesburg Hustler's number before any of us.
  5. I mean, what else are they going to say? They can't slap the kids in the face. Just realize they will say it because they have to and it means very little.,
  6. Except that's not what Ben said at all. Everyone knows Littrell is here for at least three years, and with the Benford Precedent firmly in place, probably more than that. We aren't happy with crappy recruiting. It's not acceptable, be it year one or year 5. You don't seem to have an issue with it, but you rarely have an issue with anything, so it's not surprising. We can be pissed without demanding a resignation, you know.
  7. Wow. Thanks. Now I need to hide my gun... Pardon my misuse of a recruiting class. ?
  8. The talent gap between Mullens and the QB that played against UNT was YUGE!!! The talent gap between Morris and Fine was non-existent. Remember, the coaching staff was about to go back to Morris when Fine got hurt.
  9. My concern with a Littrell hire all along was that he had never worked at a program under the P5 level. But, then again, a lot of the staff that recruits has. Maddening. Perplexing.
  10. With these types of recruiting classes, I'll be on that snowy mountaintop for the next 10 years, sneaking into Dentonville to watch the carnage 6 times a year.
  11. Billy compared it to McCarney's 2012 class. That's bad. I mean, unless there is a series of miracles in the next 3 days. I think basketball just exasperates the feeling of "can't UNT just get one thing right one time?!?! Ever?!?!"
  12. Really, because we have had mostly crap classes that have led to mostly crap football teams. I guess you can't see the correlation. But, by all means, rah rah rah sis boom bah.
  13. Waiting for you to spin this. I'm sure it's coming. Rah rah rah sis boom bah.
  14. Thank God UTSA hired a coach at the same time as UNT to provide some measure of comparison, otherwise the same apologist as always would be on here telling us how poor little ole UNT can't be expected to do much more.
  15. Funny, because UTSA put almost the exact same product on the field and is kicking everyone's ass. This is another tired excuse. It comes down to hiring assistants who can sell your program to young athletes. UTSA obviously did that, doesn't look like UNT did. As to the bolded, THE most tired line used by UNT fans the last 30 some odd Februaries. It's complete BS. Strop hoping and start expecting and holding people accountable when those expectations aren't met.
  16. Then I'll take credit for saying it, because it's true.
  17. This. Always the same people. What's the definition of insanity per Einstein? Definitely applies here. This is a bad, bad sign for this staff going forward. A staff can either recruit or they can't. UNT is (sadly) coming off one of their better seasons the past 12 years and so far hasn't been able to recruit better than a mid-tier Sun Belt member. I doubt this staff does much better next year, no matter what happens on the field. You either can or you can't. UTSA's identically new staff has proven they can, and will be playing for conference titles down the road. Maybe there are huge surprises over the next 3 days that turn this class around. Absent those surprises, this is one of the worst recruiting classes (considering the circumstances) in the past 12 years. Not what should be expected for a "savior" coach.
  18. Waaaaay too fast of a delivery system.
