  1. Son of worm on the helmet. North Texas across the front of the jersey. Done.
  2. Congratulations to Rick and his staff, Harry and your helpers, and all of us for supporting this program. What we have collectively done since Rick V. took over has finally paid off!
  3. Yeah, Tuesday is my mom's birthday too. Why don't they check this stuff before scheduling conflicting events
  4. The great thing is you could see by tourney time Tony was just starting to get his game in order. He will be a monster next year. Hopefully playing on the wing and the 4 a bit more.
  5. I found the blog post confusing. Bringing him here will be a challenge, yet he's already signed so he'd have to sit out a year if he doesn't come. Benford would have to be a big turn off to have the kid take that route.
  6. I know what you mean, but I went up and watched the scrimmage before the Spring Game and he looks really good at TE. In fact he made one great grab that had the whole team pumped. I think he might be a breakout star there in a year or so.
  7. If we make it to NYC I am definitely making that trip.
  8. I don't hate, because I don't care. I also don't know what is par for the course at SMU because I don't pay attention. It's great for SMU and alums of the school if what you say is true, I just don't think it's remarkable for rich people to spend money. I'm also not posting on an SMU board about what remarkable things are happening at North Texas with things that aren't remarkable. And you know what, a North Texas message board is kind of myopic by definition don't you think.
  9. What's remarkable is that you don't know what remarkable means. It's not strange or unusual (synonyms for remarkable) for people with money to buy expensive things. Seems ordinary to me.
  10. With the news today of an ACC head coach coming over to take over our women's program, I believe I understated how much things have changed
  11. I hear what you are saying, but assuming you mean CJ and Jordan, you think after sitting out half a year already, they will sit out another entire season by transferring? Seems unlikely, but I guess possible.
  12. Cannot believe all of the changes in the last year in the status of our program. It's been a really tough two weeks but trying to look at this like I would if I was say an OU fan or better yet OU T-shirt fan. I think if I was that guy, I'd wonder what the heck is going on in Denton, and think it's something really good. We have a great new stadium that got lots of positive buzz. And both our basketball coaches left. Not because they were fired, but because they went to Texas and LSU. While LSU isn't a basketball power, it is one of the biggest boys on the block in college athletics. These are two huge schools and they wanted NT people. Plus, there are many rumors that we are moving up in conference. This is the kind of attention that is never paid to NT, at least not in a long, long, time. It sux, but it's good. You want to be good, because other people then want your people. It sure beats being lousy and nobody cares. It also makes it so other coaches can see, that we are not some place you go to have your career die. You can get a dream job. Hell we had two people land their's recently. Now we have to hope RV and team can keep it up. That random fan of OU or wherever cannot help but think better of us. That also applies to the 100K alums or whatever in the area that we here about that fluff off their university. This will make them take notice too. We just have too keep doing it. While it's painful, this is the kind of stuff that gets the stink off the program that has been here for decades. Back to wallowing in the pain.
  13. I know right? It's like we are being treated with respect or something.
  14. It really does at a position of great need, and he looked like he was a potential All Sun Belt player. I want to -1 myself for even starting the thread.
  15. Not good. I hope the freshman can play. Facebook
  16. I hate political discussions, but as someone who had to vote for this I'll point out it's like many things in politics. They get all wrapped up with other crap. If you voted against it, you were voting against many other worthwhile and needed things which you mentioned. SO to get those through we had to also pay for this obscene stadium. Too bad we couldn't vote on each and every line item individually.
  17. This looks fantastic. I really like the integration of the logo. While I'm on the subject, I'm really disappointed that the school has come up with the new marketing campaign Green Light to Greatness, which I think is quite good, and added billboards on the interstate, but none of those have our eagle logo on them. It's about branding people.
  18. This is what bugs me the most. I've got two sets of friends who came to games this year but when they go to look at this schedule to see if they want to commit to buying season tickets, they are going to say, well only 5 games, one is TSU, on I can't make because it's Tuesday, so 3 games. I think I'll pass. All of this is in the 2nd season of the stadium where it should be easier to sell tickets, becuase peoeple started to notice things are getting serious in Denton, but then this schedule says, not so much.
  19. What has RV been told or think we need to spend money on to improve our conference upgrade chances? Does he think adding another sport helps us, or should we focus on the sports we do have? When can we upgrade the Super Pit? Will we have 6 home games next year? Do they plan on continuing the events they started last year like the Coaches caravan?
  20. Well maybe because it was kind of a big deal. According to Mean Green Sports on Facebook it was the 3rd best scoring/rebounding game in school history and the best combined scoring/rebounding game in college basketball this year.
  21. This post is spot on and think that with less guys in the rotation it will help each player step up knowing they are being counted on now.
  22. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this team has an outside threat. I'm fine with Norris getting more minutes, but not necessarily to shoot the 3. I'd like to see us play faster with him at the point and CJ more as a slashing 2. Our top 3 guards are CJ, Alzee, Norris in that order. So i'd be fine with Jordan's not used minutes being distributed between those 3 and Franklin moving out to the 3.
