  1. Sarcasm aside, the Dallas defense was huge in that game. Got no mention. Now, let's cut to a graphic that shows a picture of a 10 year old Trent Edwards. Did you know he was only 10 the last time the Bills played a home game on MNF? I also bet you didn't know that was 13 years ago.
  2. Did you happen to hear that it was the first MNF game in Buffalo in 13 years? Or that Bill Walsh called the Bills and said Edwards was a good pick? Or that Parcells gave Romo the QB Commandments list? Or that Edwards had the best debut at QB since Tom Brady...if not ever? These were all nice little bits of information I just happened to catch during the broadcast. I don't know if yall caught them or not, their mention was brief because the announcers focused on what was actually happening in the game rather than storylines agreed upon at a pre-production meeting on Friday.
  3. ACU beat TSU-SM by 18, Baylor beat them by 7.
  4. "Spread" just means spread the field. You can run just about any style of offense using this idea of multiple receivers, and in some cases, wide line splits. It doesn't mean run or pass, it's just how you align to do it.
  5. Alright, let's talk about it. What are we doing that is so basic? What would you like to see put in that is complicated? Are these schemes sound (all gaps accounted for, all option responsibilities accounted for, all pass coverage areas accounted for)?
  6. They are actually Britney's. They were FedExed from an airport in Utah.
  7. I was thinking it would be more of a pissing match.
  8. Such weak sarcasm. When Dodge turns it around, I bet your board activity will drop off considerably, only emerging again after any two game losing streak.
  9. I take it we have an early commit with an unusually high SAT score?
  10. Our highest rated commitment isn't a part of our future or where we are headed? I understand your overall point, but what does Riley have to do with it?
  11. I agree. The key to Dodge's success at SLC, which got him hired for this job, was his willingness to change things often on the fly. I mean, look back at SLC's offense the last several years during that win streak. If there was a three and out...they went to the I. If that didn't work, they went single wing. If they had a bad week (under 500 yards of offense) one week, they spent the next week changing things rather than get better at what they do. We haven't seen that kind of adjustment yet at NT, and I don't understand why.
  12. I can't believe Dodge called the 100 yard interception play either. What kind of coach would deliberately call a play that will give the other team points? A high school coach, that's who, and there is no place for that in our D-1 program. Between that play call and the simple basic high school cover 1, it's no wonder we got drilled by OU and Arkansas. If we still had the coaching staff that had the good sense to run the ball, and call complex and sophisticated division 1 zone coverages, we would not be getting steamrolled by the BCS schools.

I just assumed Dodge was starting the worst QB on purpose to sabotage the threat NT football poses to his alma mater's dominance in this state. There is room in my conspiracy theory that he is in cahoots with administration who have other motivations for sabotaging the program. I haven't yet determined how Mendoza's simple basic high school cover 1 fits into this, but I am open to suggestions.
  14. When showing highlights on the news, it's not important to include trivial things like the correct name of the player scoring the touchdown on the highlight, or even the correct mascots or team records. Also, the NT Daily is my favorite sports section.

  16. For last year's class the banquet was held in February, and it was $100 a ticket. http://www.tshof.org/events/induction/
  17. Al Pickett just announced on ESPN Radio here in Abilene that Abner Haynes has been elected into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. It's long overdue, but now at least Haynes will receive the recognition he deserves for not only his outstanding playing career, but the trail he blazed for black football players in Texas. Congrats to Haynes!
  18. I want to hear why the offensive rotation is "not good".
  19. You've been living by the power lines too long.
  20. He's just pissed the Cowboys are winning and the Redskins lost. I can't believe someone is longing for the Dan Dierdorf days.
  21. If he doesn't have the size and strength to play D1 ball, why is he the #58 recruit in the state? There are only 57 kids in Texas with the right size to play D1 and Riley is best of the rest? He was the 5A offensive player of the year and QB'ed a state champion last year. 5A football in Texas is the best competition you can get on a weekly basis. He can throw the football, and he is smart and quick. I bet we could find a spot for him without getting caught up in if he's 5'10, or 5'11, or 6'0. Like that makes a difference. It would be nice if he were 6'5, but he seems to be doing fine as it is.
