  1. I was at the Coach's Caravan in Denton Tuesday night. Good time, and lots of Mean Green friends.

Across the room, I saw a young man, about 12, wearing a ball cap I've never seen before. His name is Jordan and I asked him about his cap. He said it was his baseball team, the North Texas 'raiders.' Or something llike that. But this logo was cool.

I don't have the skills to illustrate it here, but imagine the New York Yankees logo. Now, replace the "Y" with a "T" and there it is. I took a picture of Jordan's cap and I'll try to post it here. but in the meantime, could one of you really smart guys try creating this "NT" Yankees look.

    Thanks and GO MEAN GREEN

  2. I'm not a drinker, but I started thinking after reading Stebo's comments about the FAU stadium. Since the Club Level is restricted to Club Level members, and there will be a cash bar available to Club Level members, can alcoholic beverages be taken back to the Club seating area. In other words, can a Club Level member watch the game from his seat while drinking a cold one ?

  3. It was during the Winslow era that the drumline dressed differently from the rest of the band and started waving their sticks to the rhythm of the music. I thought that they were mocking the alma mater. I still think that was their intent. Somehow, the waving of sticks became waving of the Eagle claw or talon. And for most NT fans, it is embraced as a show of support. I don't do it because of my preception from years ago. Back when Dr. Wimslow was director, I left the stands to go to the Fred McCain room for food or drink. I just couldn't watch a band that seemed so apart from the rest of Saturday's activities. I don't feel that way now.

I would however, like to see the Green Brigade play "Texas, Our Texas." I've never heard a college band play it regularly. It could be almost another North Texas Alma Mater since no one else is doing it.

The lyrics could be modified from "Texas, our Texas..." to "Texas, North Texas, all hail the mighty state."

  4. I had a great time last night. It's always great to hear form Coach Mac. He said that he'd bought a house in Denton. I was glad to hear that. He's going about 150 MPH all the time. I brought someone with me that was not a Mean Green supporter. In fact, something of a "boo-bird." I don't know if we converted them or not last night, but I know they were impressed with the turnout and the energy in the room.

I was disapointed to not hear from Coach Aston. I thought she would have been there as well as more coaches.

Find a time and attend a Coach's Caravan when it comes to a venue near you. Well worth the time.

  5. Don't you think part of this is as an experiment to see how turbines work, how loud they are, and if they are compatible in an urban setting. I've seen lots of turbines out in the middle of nowhere, but never in a neighborhood. I think this is to bring out in the country technology into the city. Hmmm
