  1. Grammar, people! If it meant both of those schools were leaving, it would be "except Louisiana Tech and Boise State, which have already given notice of their withdrawl)".

GMG.com have too much speed-readers, but you tried to reading 4 content. :P

  2. I think Dodge playing him last season for a few minutes in that one game was atrocious and self-serving.

I wish this thought would just die.

I would be so much angrier if Dodge admitted that he intentionally did not put the best available QB in to save a redshirt. It's all about WINNING. You put the best options on the field. 10 games or 60 seconds. If you have a chance to win the game (and we did), try your hardest to win it. Dodge did. Thompson did. There's nothing wrong there.

Dodge down. Tune down. Baine didn't travel. Thompson is next in line. Yes, Hamilton, Carey, etc... played QB in high school, but they were not the ones Dodge chose to use in order to win the game.

Is it unfortunate that his redshirt was burned with only a few plays? Absolutely. Was it the right choice? Absolutley!

    Ask Thompson himself.

I don't think there would be a QB competition (which made both of them better IMO) this offseason if Thompson did not play those minutes in Jonesboro.

  3. I would look for somewhere between 23K & 24K average for next season.

There is alot of anticipation about the stadium so I would expect the place to be packed for the Houston opener. That should help the average remain at least above 20K all season.

  4. I agree with this. We haven't even seen this team play one down and we are already saying we will lose by 5 TD's...I think our offensive line can do better than hold their own against Clemson, I think they can dominate them, and every other team on our schedule. We also have Lance Dunbar, one of the best RB's in the nation. If we can get a couple turnover's and a few stops on defense we have a shot to win the game and any game we play...

"dominate" is a very strong word. You know they have future NFL players on their D-Line right now correct? We need to hope that the O-Line can even "hold their own" against Clemson's D-Line. Otherwise, it will be a 5TD+ blowout.

  5. Because our fans travel so well to Louisiana and Arkansas??

Look, a merger has to be considered. What happens if MUTS and Troy go to CUSA? Suddenly we have 7 members and we're scrambling for an 8th. If FAU, WKU, or FIU are picked up by the Big East then we're dead. let's not be so quick to dismiss an SBC-WAC merger, because if the dominos fall a certain way we'll be begging to make it happen.

I think it would be a good argument to consider MT & Troy ahead of UNT for CUSA expansion right now. MT especially. However, even without green-tinted glasses, UNT has too much going for it (outside of football results) to worry that package-wise, we've been passed by anyone in the Belt. We simply have too much to offer, and now that Mr. Rawlins is in the drivers seat, we have too many friends in high places in CUSA.

  6. And as for the 10+ seasons, who other than FSU, VT, and GT (only last year) have had 10+ seasons in the ACC in the last 20 years, seeing as how Miami & VT have only been in the ACC for 6 years? Miami has never had a 10 win season in the ACC.

Has ECU ever beaten us? We rarely play VT and have a winning record against them.

We beat most teams by double digits, dude.

And, finally, the Tigers never been to the Holiday Bowl. Don't mind a little smack talk, but try to base it in reality, just alittle. ;)

But I can play. I mean I find "fantasy subjects" fun sometimes too. :)

So, how does one post pics here?

Dr. Teeth, are you a real dentist?

Also, you can post pictures by chosing the "insert image" link in the editing toolbar above the text box when you are composing a message. 2 icons to the right of the emoticons.

  7. Really tough call. Neither really distinguished themselves at Saturday's scrimmage, so hard for me to call. But, I will go with Tune because of his experience and because he is a senior and because I don't think Thompson has done enough to show that he should clearly be the starter at Clemson. How it will shake out as the season goes along, who knows? But, I think Nathan gets the nod.

    Either way...GO MEAN GREEN!

    I agree with this 100%

  8. Thanks for the visit. FYI the North Endzone (Aquarina side) is in the final stages to begin construction. AD says it could bring our stadium to 31K seats by the 2011 season. If I read correctly that will be larger than your new Stadium. Also we have additional plans that would ultimately bring he stadium to 45k seating.

TXST_CAT, your opinions are always welcome. Defending your measley stadium, however many it can hold, against verbal attack on our message board is fine. I think the finished products will speak for themselves. Just don't delude yourself into believing it will be superior to what is going up in Denton. (+1 for the cajones to get on here and insinuate that though!)

  9. If I accomplish one more thing on the internet before I die, it would be to remove Bleacher Report articles from Google News feeds. That, or cross my fingers that Philly's plan to tax bloggers catches on.

Sorry, I don't think you can stop the Bleacher Report train... too many dummies on there. And we all know that when dummies settle on some type of media, it doesn't matter how dumb the content is (ahem, MTV, ahem), it will only grow stronger.

  10. I think there is room for 2 PG's to see significant time in JJ's scheme...if both can play.

From what it sounds like, Norris is just starting to gain steam. If he signs early, he could turn out to be a major steal. Based on what I've read on Norris, he just recently started playing with Showtyme, and is very unselfish. Now that he's playing with a high level club with high level teammates, he will only get better.

Anderson appears to be a more polished guy. Looking at his highlights he seems to be able to create his own shots really well.

So, two different PG's. A distributor and a scorer (Yes, Norris has demonstrated he can score too, and Anderson has demonstrated that he can dish as well). I'm sure certain situations/lineups would call for each of them.

I hope Anderson doesn't see Norris as a threat. And, if Anderson commits, I hope Norris doesn't see him as a threat either.

UNT Basketball is getting more & more exciting! The 2010 team is exciting enough. Courting these great area talents just makes it even better!

  11. All in fun...but not sure I want to find out about "the teabag of Quoner" unless she's one of the "Talented Texans" I referenced before :) Interested to hear what some of you think for a game prediction....I'll start with 45-13 with a 24-7 halftime score. I am of course assuming our team comes out and plays at least an A- game.

Oh, I think you'll be pleased with Quoner's looks. Quoner has nice hams. That's what South Carolinians are into right? Hogs?

I think I speak for most of us here when I predict at least a 28 point halftime deficit for Clemson to crawl out of.

Final Score somewhere around 52-20: North Texas.

After putting the KoolAid down, it will probably be somewhere around 49-10 Clemson. Clemson starters should be out by the 4th.

  12. By the way, Todd...love your stuff. We have purchased several items (mainly at the games), and will continue to do so. Appreciate your support and the great stuff you carry (and the competitive pricing)!

    GO MEAN GREEN!

No doubt sir! Your gear saved my wife and I during the monsoon game last year!

  13. USU invite tells me all I need to know.

You don't want to be in a backalley knife fight with the MWC. They went for them first to provide maximum screwing to BYU.

I don't understand how inviting USU to replace BYU is "screwing" anyone but the conference itself.

Imagine if UNT left the SBC for reasons we thought were best for us, and Wright Waters invited Texas St. to replace us in a "screwing" of UNT...     We would all (well maybe not you Arkstfan) think that's hilarious. I'm sure BYU feels the same.
