  1. You know, after having the weekend to really think about this, I think this may be a good thing.

I mean, Gilmer, Celina, Cuero and Abilene Wylie are all really good teams that dominate the AAA class every year. I think the American Economy would have had a tough time this year against those teams.

At least in the AA+ class, it will only have to compete with Dangerfield for dominance.

    We're talking football right?

  2. Recall what we expect from our NFL hopeful, Lance Dunbar for this game. Now, apply those same expectations to FIU's NFL hopeful, T.Y. Hilton. If any of you think he's going to be shut down, you're nuts.

Royce is good, and he should keep Hilton from going ballistic on us, but Hilton will get his. He always does.

Imagine the laughter that would erupt on here if FIU's fans lauded some good linebacker who is going to shadow Dunbar and shut him down...

Now, prove me wrong and cement your place on the SBC all-conference list Royce! :gym:

  3. Looks like it was just that camera. This is a sharp uniform.

    Oh no.

Is it just me, or does it look like Thompson's right shoulder is separated?

Looks like Osbourn is the man!

    Get well soon Derek!

The uniforms look great. Go Mean Green!

  4. "...Cheer for the Green & White..."

I like the simpler move. I too would like to see the SOW on it, but this is sharp.

Also, I've always heard that although the center stripe on a helmet makes it look good, cornerbacks are taught to look at the helmet stripe to know where the QB is looking. If it's not there, then that may be more beneficial to our guys.

  5. I've always resented the fact that visiting fans (football and basketball) can walk up to the ticket window 30 prior to kick/tip and get tickets in the same area Mean Green season ticket holders sit. I know the goal is to sell every ticket possible, but I'd sure to explore the notion of only selling general admission tickets on game day. Force people to either buy season tickets or sit in the end zone or with the visiting fans.

I understand your feelings here, but those who walk up and buy the seats next to you or me are going to have to pay much more per seat than you or I did in the season ticket package (at least I hope so). I'm paying $25 per seat per game. I guarantee the walk-up folks will be paying around $40-$50 per seat to sit next to me at the Houston game and maybe even the Indiana game. And, if the seats are available... sell them!

  6. I don't understand the UT hate on here.

If UNT were in the same place with a new TV network, we'd all be pretty prideful as well.

Yes, they have a bunch of ignorant T-shirt fans... guess what, when UNT starts winning, we will too!

And no, with their new coordinators and no QB or RB worth a flip (better hope M. Brown is the real deal), they don't deserve to be in the top 25.

However, OU looks poised for a date with someone in the N.C. game.

  7. If it's the lighting then how will it look under the lights on our stadium?

Probably a whole lot better than a picture taken in a bathroom with a cell phone camera.

Plus, I doubt we'll see the practice helmets on gamedays...

Aren't they supposed to unveil them tomorrow during media day?

  8. Okay, how about we throw in a pre-game Haka for the Euless contingent.

Now...what to do for the Korean, Vietnamese, Loatian, and Thai UNT/North Texas fans from Garland and Richardson....

The advantage of living in such a culturally diverse Metroplex is that it gives us a wide array of marketing choices - should we open up our eyes and ears to the equal opportunity they provide.

It's like one of my friends was told by his dad years ago when they were about to put in a new tile floor for a gay couple:

FRIEND: "But, dad, those guys are gay."

FRIEND'S DAD: "Yes, son, but their money's green the same as yours."

That's America in the 21st Century. People are going to seek affordable entertained on the weekends. Why surrender them to Don Cheto, Sabado Gigante, and the FMF?

    Wait. Tasty, you said... nevermind.

This thread is still eerily familiar though.

  9. You gotta think on the marketing end of this thing. Now that we're with Nike, they could string together a jersey with "VERDE MALO" on the front for the Mexican Independence Day Weekend Game.

Ah, now for real, you may be on to something... Kinda like "Los Mavs" and "Los Rangers" nights?
