  1. If we give up a run back for a touchdown after every score, the defense doesn't need a breather because they are never on the field :-).
  2. Dear Lord people, the answer is SMU and it is isn't even close. Now and until the end of time.
  3. Funny how many feel "uneasy" about this game. Isn't that the way all of us feel about every game? I mean isn't that just part of the natural psyche of being a fan and follower of Mean Green athletics in general? I still think this year's team has a little something something and are not going to let this season slip away like last year. UNT - 39 LaTech - 27 Oddly, after a nice win on the road, UNT holds steady at 82 in the USA Today 1-130 rankings, but LaTech jumps +11 spots.
  4. I know there are others, but of the ones I've witnessed, Jamario Thomas was one of the most dynamic and exciting players to ever don a North Texas football uniform. He had some nagging injuries (with his hamstring, I believe) which held him back, but that freshman campaign was one for the ages.
  5. Don't we already do a green out (or at least we try) for every home game? It's a special occasion game around Halloween. The team's going to be in black and wants the fans...the one's that show up anyway....to join them. It's not like they are asking you to wear SMU gear or something. SMH.

  7. From the Interwebs....Sand-based athletic fields are utilized by many professional sporting facilities as they provide efficient drainage, thus allowing games and matches to be played during rainfall. Improved filtration is also imperative to the prevention of common fungal diseases that occur in sports turf. This guy says they don't work (but could). https://puyallup.wsu.edu/turf/sand-fields/
  8. Maybe it's just my perception, but when the team goes as Wilson goes it seems to be because we keep trying to pound him up the middle when there hasn't been any daylight there all game. Occasionally he'll pop one through the middle, but he generally has better success when we get him to the outside where he can use his speed to turn the corner or his vision to cut back against the grain. When we open holes up the middle and he's able to hit second gear it's a beautiful thing, but it's not like our OL is able to open holes at will against every team we play. It just seems like we insist on forcing an issue that doesn't always work. Maybe it's a throw-away down to keep the defense honest, but we really can't afford any of those.
  9. My assessment: FAU has a bigger, stronger, faster and more athletic football team than we do right now and it showed on the scoreboard and stat sheet. We lost the turnover battle. Our most dynamic receiver was completely shut down. We need to tackle instead of jumping on the ball carrier's back and going for a ride. I'm not sure even if we were completely focused and played mistake free we would have been able to hang with the FAU team we saw Saturday night. Clearly our players and coaches still have a lot of work to do.
  10. I've been to many games there too. Sitting? Ha. I think I've had to stand every time I went to a Notre Dame game. I always found it funny when people did try to sit there was never enough room for everyone and several people were always left standing.
  11. I'm not quite that cynical. Game reps are invaluable to a true sophomore QB. Injury risk? Sure, but that can happen on any play in any game.
  12. We're tied with their first quarter.....that's something isn't it?
  13. In what will turn out to be a strategic mistake, the team did their morning walkthrough on the beach and their legs simply haven't recovered.
  14. They have obviously decided to shut down Guyton and have done a good job of it.
  15. Anyone else interested to see what's in the Kennedy documents? A whole lot of nothing and why did they keep it secret for 50 years or do we find out something new?
  16. We can hope can't we? In fairness, I thought we would lose one that we weren't supposed to. Hopefully this is that one.
  17. Florida > Texas? That's right I said it. Don't hate on me.
