    Before Wren left, that was priority #1 heading to AAC. Getting that stuff up to par. I assume Mosley will continue that and I assume will start rather soon. I was thinking it would begin right after the season but with Wren leaving, I’m sure it delayed some stuff.

    Voted Gillespie but after thinking, I’m learning towards Fuente or Riley. I think Riley would bring a lot of name recognition and I could see a huge recruiting spike bc of it. Fuente is proven and would be the “safe” pick. I’m torn.

    Yeah, Mack’s blessing shouldn’t be reason 1 on hiring someone… but reason 3? 4? It’s definitely in their minds.

    Well for me, firing SL to hire a guy that has only been a position coach for the last decade isn't it. The only way I could rationalize it if its a young (ish)up-and-coming coach that could inject excitement (ex. Emmett Jones). If the standard has gone up and that's why we fired SL, then hiring Thomsen contradicts that.

    Tomsen does nothing for me. We’d be better off with SL. Would be an absolute disaster of a hire.

    This is why I don’t mind the fact that it’s taking longer than some like. Neal seems like a calculated person. He won’t rush a hire. He sees the long term vision and will make sure we have the best possible guy not just to win some recruiting today, but for the future.

    I don’t see anyone available that would give me “woah.” vibes. I think we’ll get a good coach, just don’t see any candidates that would blow us away.

    EXACTLY. Yeah, I’d love to get someone in here to hit the ground running but making the right hire is much more important. This hire is absolutely critical and should not be made in haste just to get X player from the portal.

    I read it as they already have finalists for both but won’t make the final HC decision until after AD is done.
