  1. Hello Mean Green Nation, I actually get a chance to break news. I just got an email from a source in Austin who told me that Larry Mac Duff will be the next defensive coordinator at North Texas. My source is VERY reliable. Don't know much about him, but seems like a good hire. Patrick BTW, I hope someone else hasn't posted this. I just wanted to get it on here as quickly as possible.
  2. Hmm, wasn't it Freeman a couple of years ago that got a University of Miami tatoo to show he was committed to the "U"? I remember Larry Coker saying if they won the NC that year he'd follow suit and get one too.
  3. It stinks watching this game. I have some many great memories from NO, granted even though we only had one win. The year we beat Cincinnati I remember walking around calling it the Mean Green Dome because we owned that building and Gino Gudiligi (sp?). Ah good times, well that and Miller Lite in a plastic bottle. Gotta love it.
  4. Totally My bad. I don't myspace, so I'm not privy to the spamming ways. Sorry. I now the see the smiley face, but that's weird it's in the heading area. Oh well, sorry again.
  5. I think this one needs to be changed to All of GMG.COM vs. Dodge2007
  6. In the spirit of JM's thread on sarcasm, I'll give this the benefit of the doubt. If not, then what the hell are you talking about? Am I being accused of spamming GMG.COM. Wow, just wow.
  7. Hello All, I posted over the weekend the cool College Bowl Pick'em that were are doing on my show. I mentioned that day that we have some great prizes in the works and today they were finalized. WE HAVE ROSE BOWL TICKETS from CITI Cards. Pretty sweet. We also have some great gift bags from them too. Anyway, there is still time to join at Yahoo and play. Sporting News Radio College Pick'em
  8. I use XP too that can't be it. Regardless, right next to the list of games is a thing that says "Set Edit Type". Underneath it are two choices, Drag and Drop, which isn't working for you and then Classic. Click on classic and it changes to where every game has a drop down menu to change the numberical value of the games. Hope that works.
  9. That's interesting. I was able to drag and drop using the cursor and then clicking and holding on a game. I do see that there is a box that allows to click on a "classic" way of changing the order of your games. Click on that and then try it out.
  10. Hello All, My producer got a hold of some pretty cool prizes to give away on my show and so we decided to do so by starting a college football confidence pickem pool on Yahoo. I know there is a North Texas group, but join this one too and the winner gets some cool stuff. It'd be awesome if it was a fellow GMG.COM member!!! Just follow the link and sign and up and then pick the bowl games and rank them in order from the one you are most confident in, to the least. The person with the most points wins! We'll probably also give some stuff to the person that comes in last as well. No password is needed. Just click continue Sporting News Radio Pick'em Hope you guys join. Patrick
  11. That's sounds like a medical problem that a shoulder surgery can't fix!!!!!!
  12. That's pretty impressive if he got Dr. Andrews to do the surgery. Just about EVERY athlete that you read goes to him for their surgery or at least a second opinion.
  13. This from my man Tom Diehart at the Sporting News. Franklin is gone I also have confirmed that Auburn will hire Troy offensive coordinator Tony Franklin to fill the same position for the Tigers after Al Borges stepped down. Dienhart has also learned that Larry Fedora will leave Oklahoma State to become the head coach at Southern Mississippi.
  14. Here's a little snippet from a scout article back in October after he'd taken his official visit to Kentucky. He actually witnessed them beat LSU and all of that craziness. That was when Kentucky was really hot in the polls and he still didn't committ. Nice. The University of Kentucky hosted only two players on official visits on Saturday, both from Cedar Hill High School in Texas. Osaze Idumwonyi made his commitment public yesterday, but teammate James Hamilton was the more heavily sought after recruit. How did the talented defensive back like his trip to Kentucky? "It was real fun," Hamilton said. "We went to the game. We had a good time there. We visited some of the facilities - the weight room, the locker room, the training room and some of the dorms. It was pretty good experience." Among his dozen scholarship offers, Hamilton will pick from Rice, North Texas, Washington State, Louisiana Tech, SMU and Kentucky. His trip to Lexington was his first official visit. "They certainly moved up on my list," Hamilton said. "They impressed me, but they've always been in my top three schools for the most part. Now that I've been up there, they have moved up." The game was particularly special for the Texas native because LSU features several players he was familiar with. The Tigers roster is heavily polluted with players from his area.
  15. Normally I would agree if it didn't mean a 500% raise!
  16. Intersting that there are 6 teams that allowed more ypg than us, but only one that allowed more yards per play...Minnesota! Wow that's crazy! Anyway, allowing 486 yards a game is bad, but giving up an average of 6.67 yards everytime a team snapped a ball against us is just unbelievably amazing!!!!
  17. There are two more really good reasons. 1. College football coaches have HUGE egos and want the next challenege and nothing is too tough for them. 2. The more likely reason. MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure, but I would expect he gets probably double what he makes now. Is there anyone on this board that would turn down a job with a different company if it paid double? I think not.
  18. Dude, let it go!! Are you going to chase Rick across every thread and comment on what he posts?
  19. Why the harshness Emmitt? When I read your post I had the same reaction. You told those guys to step away from their keyboard, you should do the same. Re-read what you wrote before this clarification. We don't know your intent and it came across as your the greatest ever because you've been to all of those games and braved the weather yesterday. Sorry if that upsets you, but that's the way it comes across. So no need to get defensive. BTW, it's later, thanks for the small words so I could understand better. Also, I guess I'm the worst fan ever since I haven't been back to a game since we demolished Baylor.
  20. I was thinking the same thing. I started out by reading the thread thinking is this really D2007? I couldn't believe it, because I agreed with what he said and then BAM! Douchebaggery all over again.
  21. J-Mo will be sorely missed by me and I'll be sad to see him go. Partly, because he was a great back and partly because of what could have been had he avoided injuries. Regardless, good kid and great player. On a side note, it's nice to know that string of quality backs we've had will continue with capable hands and legs of Micah!! Can't wait to watch him for three more years!
  22. I tell you what, Mendoza comments aside, you can tell that EVERY week our defensive guys are playing their arses off in terms of effort. Week in and week out when I see these guys play I never finish watching a game thinking, "man they just gave up." Obviously they aren't a very good unit, but I don't begrudge anyone that plays the best they can every play and that's what I see from our defense. Granted that's on TV and the crappy internet video. Maybe it's different in person, but I don't think so.
