  1. Mason has the career passing record now. It has been verified through various tweets including Vito and Mean Green Football. Congrats Mason!
  2. On a side note, Liberty is playing Virginia in a close game (21-17 Virginia leading).
  3. Unfortunately, for some, it's only about the social scene and not about the game. Go Mean Green!
  4. It all started in the LaTech game. We got a "big head" from all the media attention prior to that game. Not being accustomed to it, it came back to bite us. During that game, we witnessed it and it has since spiraled into a regressive lack of team focus.
  5. Our apathy towards playing teams perceived to be beneath us is alarming. Good teams come out and dominate "inferior" teams. Every game cant be against a rival or team with a winning record.
  6. I'm not liking the feel of this game. While Rice is not considered a "big" opponent. I certainly consider this a "big" game. We need to play inspired and play well. As of right now, that's not happening. Homecoming games are a time to showcase your program and build your fan base. Coming out flat against a 30 point underdog is not good for business. Let's go Mean Green!
  7. It's one thing to struggle or look flat against LaTech or UAB. It's another to struggle or look flat against the likes of UTEP and Rice. Still a lot of time left. Lets roll Mean Green!
  8. Not a good way to start out. Let's go Mean Green!
  9. I was at the game in Austin in 1988. It was my freshman year and first road game. We won that game. There is no doubt in my mind. It still makes me sick! As others have mentioned that were at the game, our fans were very upset. Most of the UT fans sitting around us made remarks during the game about the one sided officiating. The one I remember most was "It's a good thing we're playing at home. We wouldn't be getting these calls in Denton." Several remarked after the game that we were robbed. Many were complimentary of the team. I can't say how many fans were there. But, there was a lot of green in the stands and it was very loud.
  10. I can see LaTech playing Louisiana Monroe in the NOLA bowl.
  11. I certainly agree with the "Frisco Bowl stadium does not not provide enough seating to accommodate fan interest" statement. Unfortunately, bowl conference ties will not allow for a UNT versus Houston matchup in the SERVPRO bowl in Dallas.
  12. CBS sports projects Houston playing Toledo in the Frisco Bowl. It got me to thinking about the possibility of facing Houston (who is currently 6-1 on the season with games still remaining against South Florida, SMU, Temple, Tulane, and Memphis). Toledo is currently 3-4 and would not be an attractive matchup for attendance purposes. I don't see many fans from Ohio making the trip. A UNT and Houston matchup would be much more attractive.
  13. Because of bowl ties, it is possible for UNT to play Houston in the Frisco Bowl. I'm thinking this would be a good fit, given our current situation. This matchup would provide a good crowd and boost recruiting (after a victory over another Texas school competing for recruits).
  14. I'm hoping for the SERVPRO Bowl or Frisco Bowl. If you're looking for the largest UNT crowd, these two are key. While Shreveport is not too far and I would enjoy the trip, the casual fan will not drive 3+ hours one-way (with small children especially) for the game. As a result, attendance will be greatly affected. New Mexico would be the worst case scenario (out of the most likely possibilities) because of the distance and lack of bowl appeal.
  15. This stings! Not looking forward to seeing all the conversations about home attendance next week and how this game plays a role. Let's go Mean Green!
  16. We have to find a way to close/win big games! Last year, it was FAU twice. This year, it's LaTech and UAB. Let's go Mean Green!
