  1. Again the decision to quit football bites UTA in the rear. That is the main reason the Belt booted them out of the league as Inam reading.
  2. Well if they say Mean Green Inwould have thought they meant UNT but who knows. If incorrect I apologize.
  3. I had no link to post. This was sent to my email box.
  4. Yes indeed and remember our stadium is much newer than their is. I do think our athletic center could use some expansion and upgrades though.
  5. Does he have a Twitter? I have been enjoying looking at those player tweets lately.
  6. For the 10th time this season the North Texas men's basketball team held an opponent to a season-low scoring. The Mean Green (12-4, 5-1 C-USA) beat Charlotte Thursday night at the Super Pit 65-51 for their 10th win in their last 11 games.UNT on Thursday was led by a variety of players as four scored in double figures. Tylor Perry led all scorers with 17 points and made five 3-pointers. North Texas kept the 49ers' preseason all-conference guard Jahmir Young in check for most of the night. Young finished with 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting."I'm proud of our team for fighting through some low offensive moments we had tonight," said Perry. "We know we're a really good team when we execute the game plan and play as a unit. I thought we did a really good job of that tonight but especially in the second half. Charlotte is a really good team so I'm really proud of how our team kept fighting."Perry and Mardrez McBride combined for 10 of the Mean Green's 11 3-pointers Thursday night, which is the second-most they've made in a single game this season. McBride finished Thursday's game with 15 points. UNT led by just two points at halftime but shot the lights out in the second half as they outscored Charlotte (9-7, 2-2 C-USA) 43-31 in the final 20 minutes. The Mean Green made 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) in the second half and were six-of-seven from 3-point range. The 49ers didn't shoot bad in the second half (50 percent), they just couldn't keep pace with the shooting of the Mean Green."We know how electric the three can be," McBride said. "Especially at home it can really change a game and it really carried us in the second half."After a low scoring first half that saw UNT be held to a first-half season low 22 points, the Mean Green came out firing as they scored eight points in the second half's first two minutes. McBride sank back-to-back 3-pointers to give UNT some breathing room. A few minutes later, North Texas saw its lead grow to double digits where they'd keep it for most of the rest of the game. Aaron Scott, who entered Thursday as the league's freshman leader in field goal percentage and offensive rebounds, scored seven points off the bench and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds. The two-time C-USA Freshman of the Week honoree also entered the game in the top five among league freshmen in scoring and total rebounds. Next up for North Texas they host Old Dominion Saturday from the Super Pit. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, which can be found on The Varsity App. TICKETS FOR SATURDAY'S GAME HERE!

  9. For the record I didn’t downvote you and I very much appreciate your postings but what do you want us to say. She’s an alum and we desperately want to see her succeed. Your constant accountability crusade against her is painful to read for most of us.
  10. I mean I think that’s a nice thing to say but this is also OUR program and shouldn’t we want it to be the best it can be? I respect you as a poster and mean no disrespect but some of us are in this thing to win and not just get by and make for nice stories.
  11. @greenminer I think that is a safe bet. It has been posted several times on here that UNT has not had their students in session and they are one of the last schools to bring their students back after the christmas break. Also we have a world wide epidemic going on which is making it hard for some of our more mature fans to feel safe attending games as well.

  13. Head coach Jim Mora has announced that Beau Davidson and Errin Joe have joined the UConn football staff as part of the Player Personnel Department. Davidson has been named director of player personnel and Joe has been tabbed as the director of recruiting, as announced on Tuesday. "I'm excited to welcome Beau and Errin to the UConn football family," Mora said. "UConn has so much to offer and presents such a tremendous opportunity for so many young men. Working directly under our general manager, Preston Pehrson, Beau and Errin will be key in ensuring we are conveying our recruiting messages effectively and providing a great experience to the young men that we host on campus." Beau Davidson | Director of Player Personnel Beau Davidson, who served as the director of recruiting at Texas Tech during the 2021 season, has joined the UConn football staff as the team's director of player personnel. He began his tenure with the Hokies as an offensive quality control coach before joining Virginia Tech's player personnel department the past two seasons. 14. This guy is doing a good job so I disagree with @97and03
  15. Could be but we also got bent over by Miami of Ohio so what reason for optimism do we really have these days in football anyway?

  18. BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky — For just the third time in program history and the first time since 2010, the North Texas men's basketball team Saturday afternoon beat Western Kentucky on the road, 65-60.The win is the Mean Green's ninth in their last 10 games and improves them to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in conference. UNT was led Saturday by fifth-year senior Thomas Bell who scored 17 points. He also had six rebounds and four assists in the five-point win. "One thing I love about how we won today is we did it the way we need to play," said head coach Grant McCasland. "I'm super proud of all of the guys, especially the guys like Aaron Scott and JJ Murray who played fantastic and then Thomas Bell really settled us in late. This was a great win for us." In what was a rematch of the 2021 Conference USA Tournament title game that North Texas won 61-58, they once again did it on the defensive end to beat WKU for a third straight time. UNT entered Saturday as the nation's No. 1 3-point defensive team only giving up an average of 4.3 per game. On Saturday they didn't give up a WKU (10-7, 2-2 C-USA) 3-pointer for the first 37 minutes of the 40-minute game. The Hilltoppers finished the game 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from deep. North Texas forced 15 WKU turnovers and scored 13 points off the turnovers. While UNT was preventing WKU from making 3-pointers on the defensive end, on the offensive side they began the game hot from 3-point range. North Texas opened the game four-of-six from deep and finished 10-of-23 (43.5 percent). Despite having a height disadvantage down low, the Mean Green still matched the Hilltoppers in scoring in the paint as each team scored 26 around the rim. "We got lucky a few times they didn't have some threes go in but I thought defending them on the arc was one of the best things we did tonight and just making sure we had the right guys we wanted shooting for them at the right time," McCasland said. "The senior leadership tonight was great and I'm so thankful for those guys in the locker room." UNT returns home next week and hosts Charlotte on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT. Following Thursday's game they'll host Old Dominion on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT at the Super Pit.
