  1. Chase is gone. Accepted a job out of coaching. Kinda of a shame, but really nothing to do with the Mean Green.
  2. Was originally reported as a separated shoulder. Thought to be borderline between rehab vs surgery. Second opinion may have "push" surgery or they may have just thought they should be safe.
  3. Personally, I believe you have underestimated Coach Dodge, If you believe that win, lose or draw against Oklahoma will result in not having a game plan and the boys prepared for SMU.
  4. Looks like the NT faithful will get to see Chase in uniform in the first game of the season, after all.
  5. March 30, 2007 ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington native and Olympic gold medalist Jeremy Wariner and Olympic gold medalist Darold Williamson will be among the athletes competing at The Bobby Lane Arlington Invitational presented by Ben Hogan Sports Therapy Institute Saturday, March 31, at UTA's Maverick Stadium. Teams scheduled to compete include: Angelo State, Dallas Baptist, DePaul, Emporia State, Louisiana-Monroe, McMurry, Minnesota, Northwood, North Dakota, North Dakota State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, SMU, Southwest Christian, Tarleton State, TCU, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas State and UT Arlington. The Chinese National Team will have their 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams competing. Williamson, a former Baylor standout, will compete in the men's 400-meter dash at approximately 4:10 p.m. He was a member of the 2004 Olympic and 2005 World Outdoor 4x400-meter gold medal-winning relay teams. Williamson was also the 2005 NCAA Outdoor 400-meter champion. Wariner, a graduate of Arlington Lamar High School, will run in the men's 200-meter dash at 6:05 p.m. Wariner won gold medals at the 2004 Olympic 400 meters and 4x400-meter relay. He was the World Outdoor 400 meter and 4x400-meter relay gold medalist and is a two-time USA Outdoor champion. Former Oklahoma sprinter DaBryan Blanton will compete in the 100 meters. Blanton was the 2004 NCAA Indoor 60 meter champion and a two-time Big 12 Conference 100-meter champion and the U.S. Junior men's 100 meter record holder.
  6. When SMU cancelled their men’s T&F squad, their roster (men’s and women’s) were very small. (This from memory.) Their best men’s athletics were throwers and not from American high schools. I remember only one sprinter. A look at their current (women’s) roster looks larger than the combined rosters, prior to men’s cancellation. (Really not surprising considering how Title IX works!!!) So if anything you might make a case for how canceling their men’s program has effected the women’s programs at UNT, UTA and TCU, with regard to attracting Metroplex female athletics. So, helping a men’s program? Probably not. Hurting a woman’s program? Maybe! IMHO
  7. Glad I wasn't the only one that thought said DISD motives for a new complex were without a UNT connection!
  8. Boy am I embarrassed! Changes the whole meaning of my post, doesn’t it!
  9. Who said that a scholarship would be envolved?
  10. Not sure why you quoted me, but I didn't imply for a milli-sec. that he is intereested in North Texas.
