  1. Not sure where you're at Side Show, but NTTV broadcasts many games. You can find it on FiOS ch.46 or Charter ch.22 (I think) if you are in the metroplex. It's a blessing for me since I can't get babysitters as much as my NT passion deserves. Picture quality isn't fantastic on FiOS but I'm certain it's better than MGP. Check 'em out tonight if you can. Broadcast starts at 6:50. FiOS' guide never shows the games (lists "Local Programming" all day), but the NTTV Website has finally started providing their TV schedule. GMG!
  2. Sure would be nice if we had a recurring basketball themed podcast, focused on NT and the Sun Belt.
  3. Looks like $15.9 Milion payout difference between a BCS bowl and the Ticket City Bowl. Bowls with Payouts
  4. You read before I realized I left off 'Seriously'. I'm not comparing the two. His opinion that character outside of 3 1/2 hours on Saturdays is irrelevant is crazy talk. I used an extreme to challenge it. Bad decision. Anyway, Go Mean Green!
  5. Historically, no. Recently, they are. As are we. He could always bring Sandusky on as DC to solve his defensive woes. After all, they're only allegations now. It's all about results on the field. Seriously though, do you honestly believe that college football (outside of the SEC) hates offensive type games? That's not why he wasn't hired.
  6. I think you're missing my point. Some of us hold our University to a higher standard. Whether or not he's guilty of anything doesn't matter if allegations that strong exist. He would not represent the program well, and frankly he doesn't deserve the chance to. Give me 10-3 with McCarney and every positive thing about him over 10-3 with that kucklehead. There's a reason he had to go to the worst AQ, and one of the worst programs in D1 after two years out. That says something. Leach supporters should listen.
  7. Mentioned in another thread by untcampbell that Gate 2 Will Call is the place to pick up.
  8. I'd rather have a head coach that kisses babies than one that allegedly abuses players. Too few babies are kissed, and too many people are abused.
  9. Enjoy the games, those of you able to be there. Weekend babysitting fell through, so I am stuck in DFW. Hope the team continues to improve. GMG!
  10. Sounds like some nice defense is being played by the ladies. NT - 59 UA - 64 Under 3 minutes left
  11. Quitter. I have to listen at a reasonable level at work, so I will only be able to pick up the score. No commentary/play-by-play from me. 2 quick strikes in the first minute, timeout UA: NT - 31 UA - 37
  12. Agree. Edwards should have stayed on the bench in the second half. But, I guess when you're down ~40 with 5 minutes to play, you may as well put him in to give someone a breather. Hogan's attitude bothered me a bit, along with Holmen's (actually, the whole team's head/shoulder dropping 7 minutes in did). Don't think we'll be getting much leadership from this group of "veterans".
  13. Hope you like marching through thousands of dead birds on your way to football games.
  14. I think this game is very telling of how the season is going to go. FFR does have one thing right - St. Gregory's did nothing to help this team figure out how to win a ball game. Tech tried to give us this game by playing as bad if not worse than NT. Yet, we couldn't take it from them. Hell, we couldn't even get the game tied up. Chalking this up to home court is a bit simplistic. I'm sure it helped Tech to play at home, but we didn't exactly do much to take control of the game (offensively) when we needed to. The crowd appeared quiet and disinterested and had little impact IMHO. This group just doesn't know how to win close games. NT could be coming home at 3-6, or worse. J Jones is obviously still trying to figure out what works, and I haven't seen a leader step up. UTA doesn't care that we have more talent, even if it is "raw". The game is going to be close, and last night showed us that close games are going to be a problem for a while, home or away. Count me as not confident in the outcome for both UTA and SHS. Hopefully they mature quickly, but it's going to be a long couple of months I fear. And, too much emphasis is being put on gelling, when I don't think these players have figured out what they are individually as a college player. Gelling isn't going to happen before February, and I'm not as confident as some that Mitchell will put this team over the top. Quick Hits: I agree C Jones will be a beast, when he figures out what works in college and what doesn't. Shots were rushed by most, but if you haven't gotten used to that you haven't been watching NT long. J Jones, give me more Niko. His defensive effort was impressive and I felt the game tightened up when he was in. Love the active hands on defense, keep it up. Tech defended the outside well. It seemed like we didn't have many clean looks. This may have led to the rushed shots. They also broke with us well, which probably didn't allow us to play our game.
  15. For anyone else that might be tied up with children duties tonight and can't make it to Denton, MeanGreenSports.com lists the game as available on NTTV- FiOS channel 46. (also Charter Denton, not sure what channel) Now I just have to keep my phone in my pocket until I'm back home and can watch the recording.
