Very cool website. I dont know about you guys but I think most of us feel like these new coaches, faciliies and all have us about to explode!!!! I truely feel it's just a matter of time, say less than 5 years, we could be the next TCU....taking it to the next level. We are definitely heading in the right direction.

I know this is the football forum, but this win and thinking about our Basketball team and season up ahead, it feels great if you're a MEAN GREEN FAN! A couple good seasons in multiple sports, with our new facilities, and we will be invited to a new conference!

Fantastic win! This is the game we needed and the way we needed to win it. A tight, hard fought game, and one that installs the confidence to win in those final 2 minutes. This could be the type of game that the young players turn the program around. Just like when we went on that 20 plus straight conference wins from 2001-2004. This feels awesome!

I would hate to see Thompson hurt and not playing next game, we really need him. Any word on his injury? What and how did he get hurt? Time expected out and etc. Sorry for so many questions but obviously we really need him. Thanks

Man couldnt say it any better, I saw the same thing! I think the team sees that special relationship between Mac and McNulty. I think you have nothing to lose at this point at half. Try and find out who wants to play come game time. Who cares if Osburn might miss some passes during practice and doesn't do as well as McNulty in practice, if he can make a game time difference! Some players crack under pressure and some others perform better under extra pressure. In less there is something else I dont see, I think he deserves a shot at least.

I really think we could win this one with Thompson in there but not confident with McNulty in there. Hopefully Thompson isnt hurt too bad... Has anyone heard what it is that Thompson hurt and his status?

Yeah you are probably right. It's easy to forget when you care so much.

It's ashame because this game is and was winnable game. We have made way too many mistakes to win this tough game on the road. Zach Olen is usually money too but like some others, were just off today. I still feel like we have a great group coming up. It's just hard because like must of us, want it instantly. We have to remember that D. Thompson is a Sophomore and this is really his first year.

Yep, that's the Freshman I was asking about. He is pretty impressive, and if healthy, Should be out there taking Royce Hill's position.

Royce Hill is also far from NFL material. They have scored 2TD's today and both have been on Royce Hil. The Freshman was doing well and it would be nice to get him some good playing time!

Royce Hill is far from NFL material. He might be the best corner we have but our corners have not been dominant to say the least. Our possible NFL prospects are the following: Dunbar, Atterberry, Olen, and maybe Chancellor (if he continues to develop).

Very happy for FAU! We need to support these guys and the rest of our Sun Belt family whenever we can. I think it's a nice stadium and glad that they too have a nice place to play their games. Personally, I think our stadium rocks, is the best in the Sun Belt, and I can't think of anything that I would change. With this said, I think it's important to be humble and to be respectful to others. As we all know, many other schools read this board and I think it's important to show respect for other programs. The other thing I forgot to mention was the positive reputation and experience this coaching staff has will only help our position to get onto a bigger conference later on. When we start winning consistently, which I feel is going to happen very soon, we will be invited to a a new conference, at least Conference USA. Our facilities are good enough now, our coaches are top notch, and attendance has been great. We are averaging around 20,000 at our last couple home games and we haven't had a winning season in many years. How could anyone not be excited about the future of Mean Green football and athletics?

I don't think we have ever had this many verbal commitments this early on. The quality of these new guys rank slightly higher as well. This is just another indication that our program is on the right direction and these coaches will start to build something we have not had in many many years! That one thing I'm referring to is position depth! Very exciting! When a program starts to have depth at positions, is when a program has successesful seasons consistantly. Players can be rotated, are more fresh in the fourth quarter, players the following year can step right in after the elder graduates and can help the new Freshman when they come to NT.. Very exciting times here at NT and how can any one deny it. This was supposed to be a very hard year for us with little hope! Even if we didn't win another game this year, I already feel this program is on the right track. The coaches are going to do whatever it takes to make it happen, and make it happen sooner than later! I think the work that Coach WintRich has done for this football team in such a short period of time has been tremendous! I know we are still a little under sized as a whole but changing this won't happen overnight. I also believe that we are seeing far less injuries this year because of the work that Coach Wintrich has done. I know we have a few injuries but we are almost half way through the season.

What's wrong with Thompson and how long will he be out?

In one of the interviews, Coach McCarney said he was really good friends with McNulty's dad. So this may explain the reason he favors McNulty so much.
