  1. Looks like someone tried to make a muppet out of some old shag carpet.
  2. I mean, heck, why not flip the craziness the other way too? He succeeded once in three chances, that’s hall of fame credentials for a baseball hitter.
  3. Yea except that we were 2-0 against these particular CUSA teams last year by an average score of 50-21.
  4. @TheReal_jayDheads up you put gomeanreen.com on that website above your name and email
  5. We don’t act like we are Alabama, we act like we expect the new coach to outperform the fired coach he replaced. We beat Louisiana Tech by 20 points last year.
  6. Possibly but he didn’t say something else, he said somewhere else which would still be a bad look for the runners.
  7. Did he say “it’s gotta be easier to make a living somewhere else than this dump”? At the 3:05 mark?
  8. No we don’t. I remember they had a cheap shot safety that tried to injure Guyton. It is also difficult on the DC to change everything for that one game.
  9. Sorry about that. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/years/2022-passing.html Wow. You missed the point. Their players essentially got two free redshirts but more than that, they were allowed to sign nonqualifiers which means they they were the only FBS program allowed to sign players that would’ve otherwise been forced to go to Juco due to academics. That is absurd. This is just trolling. So the attendance was up for Seth’s first home game because they were still excited about McCarney and Chico?
  10. He made a bad hire to replace Harrell and it hit hard. 2019 was a disaster because of it. 2020 was a disaster because of uncontrollable circumstances. He improved every season after that. You probably didn’t predict us to beat the pants off of UTSA in ‘21 either but it happened. You need a better argument. 2022: Third Team All-CUSA (Phil Steele) … Honorable Mention All-CUSA (Coaches, PFN) … Burlsworth Trophy Nominee … HM Tyler Rose Player of the Week (9/13, 10/31, 11/7) … Manning Award Star of the Week (11/7/22) … C-USA Offensive Player of the Week (8/29/22) … started all 14 games at quarterback for UNT … threw for 3547 yards and 33 touchdowns on the year … finished first in Division I with 15.29 passing yards per completion … set a single-season school record with 33 passing touchdowns
  11. Staff and Seth Littrell. Bennett himself said he only came to North Texas for Seth. Littrell put together a great staff. That staff was the first staff to rival his initial staff. They improved the team’s record both years they were together. Were 2019 and 2020 bad? Absolutely but not by our historical standards. I stand by my feeling that as long as the program was improving they should’ve been allowed to continue. I think our first two games this year have shown how valuable Mike Bloesch was. You give extra credit to Pat because he is an alumnus but look how poorly the backs have performed without Bloesch scheming the offense and coaching the Oline (I know it was technically Clements last season but you know Bloesch still had his hands in there). Gush is a great coach too. None really merited getting canned after going to the conference title game. What we have done by replacing them is gone from mediocre (but improving 3 consecutive years) to 2007 bad or worse. Aune was the 34th rated passer in the nation last year. Why do you say Bennett was one of only two worth keeping but also say the defense wasn’t good for three straight seasons? You can throw that UAB slice out because you know full well they got to accept nonqualifiers and were allowed to have players practice for 2 years without using eligibility so they had a team stocked full of 24-25 year olds. The .500 record to the others is not bad. Old Dominion was just a disastrous game by any account but there was no opportunity for a rubber match. I would have put Cal as a loss; FIU, LaTech, and ACU as wins; Navy as a loss; Temple as a win; Tulane as a loss; Memphis and UTSA as tossups; SMU as a loss; Tulsa as a win; and UAB as a tossup. So a 6-6 or 5-7 at worst record(although 8-4 was a real possibility) to start AAC play was my realistic assumption. Can you honestly say that you believe Eric Morris’ team can meet these expectations? Even the worst case 5-7 record? Try this exercise. Look at Seth’s record as if you were trying to forecast it taking all of the emotion out of it. Graph SL’s win/loss margin over time so year 1 was 5-8 so that would be a minus 3. Year 2 was 8-5 so that would be plus 4 and so on. You will see there is improvement throughout the entire graph except for a one year tremendous drop. Then you have to try to explain that drop and why it is contrary to the trend of the rest of the graph.
  12. Thank you JD. Great interview. Listening reinforced my feelings that the old staff should not have been let go.

Is it safe to assume that the rest of our games outside of Navy and SMU will be ESPN+ games?
  14. To paraphrase the words of Jim Mora I just hope we can win another game.
  15. Well our completion percentage through two games is higher than Aune’s was last year. Isn’t that what the problem was? I heard that somewhere.
  16. That’s my point, Littrell didn’t get the benefit of that adjustment period like a freshly hired coach would. 2021 was better than 2020 and 2022 was better than 2021. As long as we continued to improve (however slightly it may have been) he should have been given the opportunity to continue that improvement.
