  1. Have you seen our latest commit play? As the #8 ranked QB in Texas, Texas Football has him ranked ahead of commits to OU, Tech, LSU and La Tech. http://www.texasfootball.com/2018qb/
  2. Siggers, Darden and White all had good offers. Does it really matter if they were still good or not? Those coaches identified these young men as worthy of an offer at one time and they ended up with us. Now, we win with these young men and continue to grow the program and change its perception in the future recruits.
  3. Ford's seating is great, but as many have stated, the concourse is horrible. Kyle Field is massive, but the Aggie cult make it pretty unique. UT-DKR Memorial is also massive but nothing really memorable. Always was a fan of TCU's stadium. McLane is in a great setting and I don't think they spared any expense. Tech has really upgraded Jones over the past few years. Houston's looks nice, but haven't been there. Kind of reminds me of UCF's aluminum stadium but with a nice view of the Houston skyline. Not sure what that has to do with watching a game. Really love Apogee, but I am a homer. The Alamodome reminds me of a giant cavern.
  4. Easy there. That is heresy to a baseball fan. :)
  5. Considering we are thin at LB, I would think Garbutt could come in and contribute pretty quickly. We have been hit and miss with transfers in the past. Stradford and Terrell come to mind as highly rated coming out of HS, sign with OU and UT, don't pan out, transfer to UNT and contribute but not to the level we all expected.
  6. Dude, I'm really not looking at our last 17 commits. Care to list them? What I am doing is looking through our last class to see what offers they had. This class could change, commits could receive other offers, kids could decommit, etc... so I won't include any of those, so that eliminates 5. I would be comfortable stating that Siggers, Darden and White, for example were offered after the dead period. I don't care how old some offers were, the kids were offered. You can cherry pick how you compare these kids all you want to make your point. Dude, it appears you have become creative in listing these recruits to fit some poster's criticism of SL's recruiting. Darden's offer list was solid, offers after his decommitment to UNLV don't really matter to me, because a number of teams had moved on to fill their classes at that time. It doesn't remove the fact that the coaches at Memphis, Southern Miss and Va Tech thought enough of his skills to offer him a scholarship. I am not unconditionally praising Littrell. I have been pretty obvious, for years, about my choice to rate classes after they have been on campus for a while. I just find it ridiculous that many of us, outside of college coaching, think we have the magic solution for recruiting to North Texas. So, since you know who our last 17 commits are, in order, would you mind posting that list? Just the last 12 commits from the 17' class would be nice.
  7. Yep, that's the solution, or we could commit to improving our facilities to catch up to the year's of neglect from former administrations. The choice is your's, sit on your hands and stagnate or improve.
  8. I just go by what 247 states as offers. Here are others from the 17' class. Guyton: Kansas, Bowling Green, Marshall, West Va, Southern Miss T. Davis: Fresno St. Brammer: New Mexico and Rice Fulp: ULM Parrish: Texas State, New Mexico M Mose: Army, Navy I appreciate your recruiting coverage, but it appears you 16 out of the last 17 comment is just to discredit our recruiting. Regardless kf who offered who when and where, I still prefer to see how these kids turn out after a couple of years.
  9. Back on topic, so, do we only sign Martin this class or will we go after one more QB? My take is that Martin is the only one this class.
  10. Cade Pearson had an offer from Wyoming Siggers lists Texas Tech, Louisville and New Mexico Darden lists UNLV, ULM, Memphis, Southern Miss, and Va Tech White lists Ohio and Tulane Cameron Johnson lists Air Force, Army, East Carolina, Fresno State and NMSU. The above courtesy of 247sports. Seems like that comment about 16 of the last 17 commits is inaccurate.
  11. And in the ACC, Clemson's class ranked 3rd and Louisville's 9th TCU's was 7th in the Big 12 while UT's was 2nd Houston's was 5th while USF was 1st in the AAC Marshall was 1st while La Tech was 4th and WKU was 6th in CUSA In the PAC 12, Colorado had the worst rated class yet won the South Div. and Washinton won the North with the 4th rated class and WSU, who finished second, had the 9th ranked class. Let the classes finish out, get on campus and develop because there are arguments to support both points, but it takes a couple of years to find out the truth.
  12. Confirming you think these kids are not good enough to play for us and make us successful, hence, they suck. Got it.
  13. Then what are you saying about these players? You hate that they have committed to us, if you had your choice we would not have offered any of these kids, so i would deduct that you don't think they are any good.
  14. If is a mighty big word considering we have 1/4 of our class committed. Stating that we are regressing thks early in the class is just something for you to bitch about. Many bring up PJ Fleck and Western Michigan yet he went 1-11 his first year, 8-5 in years 2 and 3 and then 11-1 last year. You would have run him out of town in year one stating he couldn't coach. Also, @BTG_Fan1, it is Darden, not Durlin.
  15. So, you would be happier if we weren't landing players now but waiting like the rest of our conference mates? Something tells me you would bitch about that.
  16. Just so I am clear, let's wait until signing day to see how WKU does before passing judgement, but let's rate our team now? Got it. Seems like apples to apples to me.
  17. Nope. Just asking since some admins like to take jabs at posts they don't agree with yet us regular folk get penalized. So, what is your insightful take on this situation?
  18. I get pissed when I read "the University of North Texas at Dallas Law School." Just a stupid move by Jackson influenced by a south Dallas politician and a bad move.
  19. Who gets to warn the admins for getting pissy with other posters?
  20. This young man is way, way, way underrated. Welcome to Denton and North Texas Kason!
  21. 5 commitments in the current class and months to go before anything is official and this. SMH SL has offered kids all year that we were first in on and might not even be rated by the services and then they blow up. Welcome to Denton Kason. Prove these folks wrong.
  22. Do they dress up like the "Gold" Colonel Sanders?
  23. Personally, I think Martin is underrated. He is a coach's son which means he is probably a student of the game with an understanding ahead many other kids his age, plus I would love a foothold in to the Manvel program. They produce athletes like SMU produces d-bags. I am still a big fan of Brin and think Fennigan is a good prospect that needs to add some weight. Any of the three above along with Fine, Pearson and Isadore will have us set at QB. Give me Rucker and one of the WR's from Ryan and we will be sitting pretty.
  24. Littrell has been a head coach one, ONE year. He took a team that was horrible and turned them around and got them to a bowl, so stating he can't win is wrong and way premature. Recruiting is difficult at NorthTexas. We have a history, at least since Fry left, of not doing well and being the low man on the totem pole in the DFW area. Bad history, poor facilities and funding just enough to stay afloat. These are the things SL and staff must overcome namely, changing our reputation with all lf the coaches and players where we recruit. UTSA doesn't have that history to overcome. They can promise the moon to their recruits. Come build the program while we build blah, blah, blah, ... It is all new. We need SL and staff to coach and develop like crazy, find those diamonds in the rough and kids from smaller schools that are overlooked like Chancellor and Wilson and change the culture and perception. I still haven't given up on his recruiting considering most are just starting to contribute, but Wilson, Bussey, Smith, Hamilton, Jenkins, Fine, Muhammed have all been key in our improvement and his second class is just setting foot in Denton, but this year we should start to see the higher rated kids choosing NT.
