  1. good question, but I think the answer has to be at least a little better. Maybe not because of who's starting, but look who's then backing up giving us really nice depth.
  2. it's sweet...it can act as a poncho or a blanket...i love it.
  3. I thanked Rick when I saw him right before the game. It was a great event. My wife and our 2 guests couldn't believe what a great atmosphere and what a great time they had. I loved how our fans got into it on every 3rd down for SMU....we actually looked smart for a change.
  4. you should be able to pick it up at the hospitality deck an hour before the game..there will be a long line so be prepared w/ brews in hand.
  5. that was a different play...the one I'm talking about is shown all the time on the highlights w/ colt's longest run of the day right before halftime...went from the 50 to about the 25.
  6. I was very happy that we held their running backs to a respectable yards per carry avg. Seems like a couple years ago we were giving up 7-10yds every handoff. ON another note...anyone else get pissed off at #10 on our squad getting held when colt was running by him right before halftime. Ended up being a 20yrd gain instead of a loss...setting up their final touchdown. I rewound that bitch 10 times and was just livid...to go along w/ the late him on Brandon Jackson when he was on the ground in the second qtr.
  7. dude...give us some color now....killin' me...because to me and alot of other sportsfans, Woody is well above the other two in production and ability. Is he a cancer?
  8. I just don't see how Woody didn't separate himself. Phillips was a statue and showed no zip on the ball. When we recovered the UT fumble and got down to the 7...that would been the perfect time to have woody in there running an option play...I want more options w/ my qb..not just stand back there and get drilled.
  9. I agree w/ you...Meager and Wilson, although I think Wilson should be given the starting job and not pulled unless we are stinking it up. It's such a weapon to have a qb that can run and pass...look at wv...look at how TCU came back on Sunday once the starter got hurt. You have to be a dual threat nowadays.
  10. 2 other things...1st play of the game ut bit on play action...it can work if we can get a few big runs early on. Other thing, we had Joel open on those deep patterns and almost made some big plays...I think we have a better shot at getting some deep passes this year and not just lucky jump balls.
  11. seems like when we are favored every now and then things don't turn out so great. I'm pretty surprised we aren't the favorite.
  12. Is he really that banged up or or we treating him like the Chargers treat LT??? Work hard in practice but we're not going to open you up to getting hit in a scrimmage????
  13. i think they want him to do the jc route so it won't be a 2 full years w/o playing games and it will also be easier to remain elegible at a JC.
  14. as long as he's out there on sat.....I really want to hear how good he looks.
  15. that is very cool that they are talking about the game and not just conceding the game and getting ready for SMU....I'm hoping we get in a low scoring slug fest w/ them and keep it close until the end.
  16. I'm with you H-town...he's a young kid...he can handle the beating...plus, he'll learn eventually to slide or take it to the outside. I would love to see someone like him back there, takes some pressure off the o-line. I like what I see in Phillips as well. Everyone seemed to gel better when he was in. Some guys just have that moxy about them.
  17. I watched most of that game too...he came in much earlier than he did last year. He's absolutely huge now. Needs to do some more moves to get to the qb...seems to try and bull rush every time. He might move to tackle on passing downs because of his size and length. what a defense we used to have w/ him, kassell, and spencer all in the pros.
  18. the reason you don't hear about teams winning a championship rotating qbs is the fact that the teams are usually not very good. Arizona did a nice job of it last year, but they were still 4-7. There are alot of teams that have used the system over the years..and it's always out of necesity. No qb steps up and proves that they are the next big thing, so you try to win w/ a combination of talents. Stoops said after Bomar was kicked off, 'it's not like he was Jason White coming back off a Heisman'.
  19. ha ha...you're gonna get a smack...not everyone can be so lucky to live that close to the palace of Fouts!
  20. We have to prob. have a two pronged attack in the beginning. I know everybody hates the 2 quarterback scheme...but it make work if the qbs are night and day like Phillips and Wilson. We have to give all these teams more to worry about...it can't just be Jamario.
  21. I believe it is on FSN at 11am....Hopefully we can get a Houston watching party as well...Coaching duties keep me from Austin.
  22. harry- I agree w/ you on your assesment of how Jamario goes, so does our team...but, I can't stop thinking about the New Orleans bowl a couple years ago. In that second half, even Jamario couldn't get by the 8 and 9 man fronts and that was w/ a senior qb. I hope you are right.
