Anyone else think the referee looks like the lead singer for the Fine Young Cannibals? seriously though, im impressed by how good we look so far. Other than the tackling and special teams coverage, we lool decent against the #7 team in the nation. Offense looks good. Though we cant run the ball, we have made adjustments and passed. I think this shows big improvement.

And they reserve the sword pulling for the opposing cheerleaders But my favorite NT tradition are the post game fireworks after every loss.

Remember last year, we were all suprised at just how bare Dickey left the cubbard. As disappointed as I am, we have to give it time. It took Dickey how many years to build us up, and then had it torn down in what, 2 years? We ALL have work to do. The team has to take care of the field issues. We as the most die hard fans have to keep our current fan base in tact and still recruit more fans and more excitment. Its hard work, so who is up to the challenge?

For Rice, open the offense back up like we saw last year, play the secondary 5-7 yards off the line, cover someone, tackle, and make adjustments as necessary.

By far the worst unsportsmanlike was a couple of years ago in the Hawaii bowl. A Hawaii reciever scored, and hi fived a couple of fans and was flagged. The funniest was in '01 @ NMSU when the announcer yelled over the PA "They finally got one!" in reference to a penalty on NT and a percieved inbalance of penalties. The refs warned him, and we laughed our arses off.

These announcers are terrible. If they dont get off of their knees for June Jones soon, the little "NC-17" box is going to appear at the top of my screen. Did anyone else see the clip in the first quarter of the little kid walking down the stadium steps? One of the announcers said "That kid would have something to brag about when he is older. He can tell them he was at June Jones first SMU game." Sickening. Would someone tell Jones and his staff to tuck their shirts in? This ain't Hawaii and those aint luau shirts. GO RICE!!
