  1. It's hard for me to take this serious when the supposed SI College Football is name "Stewart Mandel." It sounds like he should be a critic of ballet or on the Family Guy.
  2. I don't see Coach Mac letting up and having something like that happen. I also don't think Senior Leadership will allow it. There is a different vibe from those guys and some others on the team. They have be beaten so much in the past they seem to be dishing it out on their opponents. I love all the "Homecoming Game" reminders are guys are giving the other teams when they show it on Beyond the Green. Best reality show on television.
  3. I've had season tickets since 2006 and I routinely rock the Mean Green wardrobe. I have about ten caps, several polos, Jerseys, and at least 20 t-shirts. I can't tell how great it is for people to stop me and ask or comment on the success of the Mean Green. I used to not be able to give any tickets away if I had an extra one or two and now I have people asking me if I have any to spare. Let's keep it going. People are finally starting to take notice. It is somewhat funny to see those alum in the work environment who generally slam the MG and root for other schools squirm a little bit. They want to jump on the bandwagon and be a front runner, but do not want to be called out. My response; I just give a shirt and schedule and say welcome aboard or welcome back. Go Mean Green!
  4. The Rice game was the longest it ever is has ever taken me to get out of the parking lot at Fouts Field. It was a welcome and great problem to have. I hope it takes even longer for the UTEP game.
  5. That would be great. I'm hoping for that bowl for travel reasons.
  6. Love the worm. Would prefer it to be on a green helmet.
  7. Thanks for putting it on and letting me jump in an play for the first time. It was great to meet everyone and put a face with their UserID. Sorry I couldn't hang around and get to know everyone better after the game, but I was bound for Houston for an awards dinner. I made it with plenty of time to spare. It was a lot of fun playing and GO MEAN GREEN!
  8. Count me in to play this year. I just made my donation. I wear an XL shirt. As for my bio: I'm 43 years old, 6 ft 1, and 200 pounds. I did recently play in a sandlot game on Super Bowl Sunday. While I'm not in any kind of youthful football shape anymore, I did at least just pass my flight physical and I'm in commercial astronautics training (air crew, scuba, zero g stuff, etc.) At least I'm not just sitting on the couch eating chips and watching television on a daily basis. I'm really just excited about hanging out, having fun, and meeting some fellow Mean Green Alum. Looking forward to it.
  9. Thanks for the infomation. Let me check and make sure I can make it work and I will get back to you. I plan on making a donation regardless of whether or not I can play.
  10. While I've never had the opportunity to play in your game, I have caught it a couple of times as a spectator. I've been interested in coming down to play in it if I can make it work out that day. I see where it starts at 10am. What time do you think it will be over? I have to be at NASA-Clear Lake for an awards banquet and need to give myself time to contend with Houston traffic and grab a shower.
  11. I'm fighting a cold, I made it to the game, and loved every minute of it. A great performance by the Mean Green. I haven't missed a home game since 2006 and I really wanted to keep that intact. I may be sicker now, but it was one of the best MG games I have ever been to. I'm looking forward to next year.
  12. I was watching the Marshall vs East Carolina game this past Saturday and noticed that the Thundering Herd Nike Uniforms look alot like ours. Even the coaches polos were similar. I wasn't sure about our uniforms at first, but they have really grown on me. I still prefer the Dickey era ones, but these are a good look.
  13. In the gallery image there is a picture of the Master Suite Photo with UNT jerseys and helmet. Where did you get all those UNT mini helmets? I have a few, but haven't been able to find many of the older ones like the flying worm. Did you get those off ebay or did you custom make them somehow. That is a cool room.
  14. Does anyone know where I can get an image or picture of the Mean Green Battle Flag? I need one for a sign I am making for my office door at work that promotes the college(s) we graduated from or attended. I would really appreciate any assistance. I know the Horns and OU symbols will have a heavy presence. Probably from more people that drove through Austin and Norman once or twice in their lives than those that actually attended those schools. I have a chance to really promote our school. I have some great pictures, but I'm struggling to find a good one of the Battle Flag.
  15. I swung by there and picked up two of them in a very busy bookstore. I got the one that looks exactly like the new helmets. I think they were $28 plus tax. They were over by the clothing section. Just so everyone knows, they also have the all white ones with North Texas spelled out in black and whitle lettering. I saw those at the stadium store the night of the Kickoff. Why anyone had those made is beyond me. They are not like any helmets UNT has worn. The incorrect helmets were located over by the coffee mugs. I almost gave up when I saw the new ones across the store.
  16. Thanks. I'm heading there Monday. I'll take a look.
  17. Has anyone stumbled across any of our new green helmets as a mini helmet yet? I saw a small pocket pro one on ebay about six weeks ago, but I have yet to locate a mini one. We've changed our helmets so much I have to add a new ones to my collection for my work office, home office, and the top of my fridge. It is kind of funny when someone comes in my office or over to my house and they ask "are those all North Texas Mean Green helmets?" My response is yes, but then I have to inform them most all of them are from the last ten years. If I wasn't such a Cowboy fan I might stick a couple of Phil Eagle ones up there to just add to the collection. That organization seems to follow a similar format in regards to changing the green color, helmets, and uniforms every so many years.
  18. If he hangs on there, he will have a pretty good shot at a Super Bowl Ring this year.
  19. Not bad. Better than the white helmets. I have to say that I prefer the helmets and uniforms from the Dickey years. I'm glad they stay away from the "UNT" logo. Stick with "North Texas" and "Mean Green" and incorporate the SOW logo when you can. I like it on the pants. When I bought the new Nike Polo at the team store at the stadium I thought that was what the uniforms would look like.
  20. I thought it was great. I also climbed up to the top corner of the wing. That was quite a trek up there, but the view was great. It is a top-notch state of the art facility. We have alot to be proud of and build on for the future. I bought an Nike hat and polo shirt at the gift shop. I have a question though: what was up with the white mini helmets they were selling in the shop? The looked like our white helmets the last few years excpect the letter were black and whit and not green.
