  1. Oh yeah he's really showing his loyal not only by NOT buying season tickets and NOT contributing financially but posting a about it which might encourage others to feel discouraged and do the same. I think we have enough discouragement without these doom and gloom posts. Just because GG#whatever doesn't get his way and have DD fired he wants to take his marbles and go home. Let him and the seeds of discord stay home. Sounds to me like you are just blindly defending your buddy no matter what kind of hate crap he spews!!! Who made you such a genius to judge the knowledge and loyalty of others?
  2. I think we beat Troy 21 - 0 in 2001!
  3. So what, Troy sent their past DE, Demarcus Ware to the NFL as the 11th, yeah the 11th pick in the first round of the draft. But, but, but monkey, Demarcus Ware along with Troy never beat us. Should Ware have been a 4* recruit? Definitely! That shoulda 4* recruit never beat us, so why should this one?
  4. Can someone in the know provide an assessment of this year's recruiting class now that all the players are public. In terms of this year's class vs. prior years as well as compared to our SBC bretheren.
  5. No, I missed it. I'm assuming that happened in that game as well?
  6. Great post from Someone who was obviously at the game. I'm not ready to throw the towel in on the season. I think we have a talented team that could beat USA in Alabama. Let's wait and see. I have never seen a team try to milk the clock toward the end of the game and then jack up a 3 point shot right before the shot clock runs and see it go in almost every time. That made me so sick to see those 3's go in.
  7. Just curious, how can we tell if soccer recruiting is going well? Is is just good that we are getting committs or what? Seriously, I have no clue.
  8. Troy did not win the Sunbelt conference last year; ULL did and they went to the tourney for our conference.
  9. Definitely did a double take on that one. That was an in your face reminder about chick presence / druelling on this board!
  10. I really feel sorry for anyone who missed this game. Key takeaways: NT executed team ball very well last night. They moved the ball around all night. We won because we were more athletic, out-hustled Denver, and played better Defense. Yemi Nicholson was almost impossible to stop in the first half. But in the 2nd half our defense clamped down on him (denied him the ball, blocked his shot, and stole incoming passes)(starting with big bodied Justin Barnett). They lost the game because their whole offense is based on feeding the ball to him Nicholson letting him shoot or kicking it out for a 3 pointer (which they are good at). Kendrick Davis is like the second coming of Leonard Hopkins in terms of being a scorer. He may need to pass a little more, but he certainly can score! Hines was deadly from the 3 pt line at key moments in the 2nd half. GMG!
  11. Great Post!!! Sometimes we need the step back so we can actually see the picture that is being drawn. It takes time to build a winning program.
  12. Si.com says UNT 53 UNO 26 with 6:58 left in 2nd half. SI.Com women's in-progress scores
  13. Good luck horns, and beat the hell out of USC in the Rose Bowl!!!!!! I have no ill-will against the horns, and hope they continue to do well, but it would be nice to stay within 5 TD next September!
  14. Things that make you go HMMMMMMM! Points Scored last 2 games while Meager is QB: 7 Points Scored last 2 games while Phillips is QB: 33
  15. Getting back to QB: All of our points were scored when Phillips was QB. If we only scored one TD, that would be one thing, but it was all 19. Oh and don't forget the 2 scores at FAU in the 4th qtr.
  16. Agree totally with AV. Our defense has thrived despite the offense keeping the defense on the field for long periods of time, and placing them in bad field position to defend the opposing team. At the beginning of the season, the buzz was all about the offense, etc. The real story in conference play is the defense. With just a little offensive production (AND NOT TURNING THE BALL OVER / AND A REDUCTION IN PENALTIES) Troy would not have beaten us. However, the Tulsa game was a disappointment, but I place a lot blame on the coaches as I think they lost the team after the first TD of the second half.
  17. My Webpage This is not the first game this team has taken 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Think about what the score would have been if we had not thrown 1 and 1/2 football fields down the gutter. I am watching the Cowboys vs. Giants: 3 turnovers by the Cowboys in the first 17 minutes of the game have allowed the only two field goals by the Giants. The game wouldn't be close without them. STOP THE PENALTIES AND BEAT THE SHRIMP OUT OF LA TECH!
  18. UT is the only MBA program in the state besides Rice which is ranked in the top 25 in the nation. UT is usually around 15 and Rice is in the top 10. UNT needs to hire some heavy hitter professors to get in the ranking game.
  19. Green Bloods in my book, are defined as those who provide unconditional support, no matter what the win / loss record looks like. I am grateful for everything my degree has done, is doing, and will do for me and my family. I am very proud of my University of North Texas, and I refuse to let a football coach, athletic director, win / loss record, or any other negative aspect at any point in time, cause my support for the University to waver. Green Blood transcends across football seasons (winning and losing) to a mindset that allows an individual to know that they are contributing to a legacy (future students as well as their own). I know that many on this board are hurting from what is happening to our team on the field lately, but I just ask that you member that your support is about more than just this football season; it is about the legacy of the University of North Texas. The long-term direction of the athletic program (attendance / facilities) is headed in the right direction.
  20. Well said! We need an alumni base that is happy to give as much as they can. No one should be reluctant to financially support the University, like we are doing the school some kind of favor. Financial support is about legacy, and the value of a degree. I am happy to give what I can in appreciation for the good fortunes MY UNT degree has brought me. If the alumni step up and meets the financial needs of the athletic program, our desire for a winning program can be achieved. "ASK NOT WHAT THE MEAN GREEN CAN DO FOR YOU; ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THE MEAN GREEN!
