  1. ASU and UNT are the teams I think will surprise this year. Both have enough talent and both have head coaches who know they have to produce. I look for ASU to beat Indiana and Louisville but not Navy.
  2. Congratulations on your win and glad to see you returning to form for the stretch run. FYI: ASU Coach Brady said the ASU will have the services of their suspended forward JeJuan Brown for the game Saturday but said nothing about their injured guard, Daniel Bryant. If both return they would have 10 players available and they will need them to have a chance against you guys Saturday.
  3. Take them one at a time and Troy is pretty good so good luck. FYI: Brady did say today he expects to have 2 more players available when they play you guys next Saturday. Have a feeling he is going to need them.
  4. While the game at Troy prevents you guys from looking ahead to next Saturday's game with ASU, because ASU has the week off I can. If ASU can get a couple of the starters back to shore up the depleted roster of 8 players they have had to go with the last 4 games it should be a good one. If they don't it will still be good, at least for you guys. Good luck next Thursday.
  5. I totally agree. ASU lost to Troy and Iowa by three points. Probably should have beaten Iowa and were lucky to stay that close to Troy.
  6. There are not many schools that you could not say the same thing about. Because of parity almost every fan of every BCS school feels their team is bipolar.
  7. It looks like some people are unfamiliar with ASU’s history of 2-4 finishes. No coaching staff in the SBC chokes like ASU’s although I’m beginning to worry a little bit about Troy’s.
  8. Based on Thursday’s big, big win it appears that the future is now in Denton. The SBC really needs a strong UNT football team and it appears that this year’s team will be capable of beating any SBC team so enjoy what should be an exciting return to quality football at UNT starting right now! Again congratulations on the big win (with Troy falling on their faces the SBC really needed it) and beat Ohio.
  9. Nope! ASU won, barely and went to the NO bowl as a result. Still, the replay and fan voting is a reminder that not to long ago all rode’s leading to an SBC Championship in football ran through Denton and not Troy.
  10. ASU is replaying five games from the past five years this week on TV based on fan input and the 2005 game with UNT is one of the games selected for replay. On their official site they have a poll asking what was the biggest A-State game in the last five years and the 2005 UNT game leads the A&M win by 42 to 40 percent. No other games were close too those two games in the voting and the game with Texas did not make the list.
  11. I’m sure there will be interest in Cannon Smith up in the Memphis area because his dad is the founder of FedEx. Heard he was coming back to Memphis to make his decision. ASU recruited him out of High School but he committed to Ole Miss. Don’t remember the circumstances but the offer was pulled. Not a bad player.
  12. It is a fact that Brady had issues at LSU but I thought it was mostly with the press. I also think when Brady took over at LSU they were either going on or coming off NCAA probation and most give him credit for rebuilding the program. Fact is that ASU normally selects it head coach from less qualified candidates than their current assistants and no one in Arkansas doubts that Brady will not build a winner at ASU. That is unusual for Arkansas because the inferiority complex that permeates everything in the State, normally results in the Hawg fans and the state-wide media, attacking anything Non-Razorback and that has not been the case with Brady.
  13. It is a compliment to the other coaches in the SBC that I cannot say they are the best. Brady pretty much brought the entire LSU staff with him and a couple of ASU’s assistants have recently been noted as being among the best assistant coaches and in the nation. ASU is very, very lucky to have that staff and Brady & Company have gone out of their way to insure everyone in Jonesboro and throughout Arkansas that they are in this for the long hall. Why that is exciting to ASU fans will be evident after this season.
  14. You can add ASU to that list, starting this year. There is no better overall coaching staff in the league and the talent has undergone a major upgrade from last year.
  15. From what I have read rough seas are ahead for everyone. Sure hitting the University of Tennessee hard. Still, the SBC is now apart of the landscape of BCS football and there is a solid symbiotic relationship in play here. The Auto Qualifying BCS Conferences have no intention of letting the other BCS conferences fail.
