The SBC and WAC are nothing alike. The WAC has/had a much better top end, breaking the top 25 polls and getting things like the number 1 draft pick. Boise State has been able to use it momentum of winning conference games to translate into OOC wins, UNT hasn't. I love me some Mean Green, but lets not be delusional here. CUSA is sitting pretty, with a new regional look that is going to make them a lot of money.

The new CUSA is going to be sweet. Is anyone really putting stake in message board rumors before the new conference has even played game 1? CUSA regional set up is going to be great at developing regional rivalaries and even matched conference games. It has more bowl options than any other mid-major and a headquaters in Texas. What more could a conference want?

If UNT sweeps the conference, but doesn't win its OOC and bowl games its bad for the SBC. It shows that the conference can't produce a next level team, and the mid-range Belt teams suck because they can't get past UNT.

As the season approaches more and more articles are popping up in other SBC teams' papers and message boards labeling their games with UNT as "must wins." So my question is if UNT sweeps the Belt again, is that actually a bad thing for the conference?

Does anyone know how much the away games ticket prices are? Is there a student discount?

Why would the city pay for it? It UNT's project, more space that the city doesn't collect property taxes on.

Is there any way to get your organization/volunteers to the campus for this "taggigng" exercise?

The new stadium will mostly likely be financed by the student building fee that is currently dedicated to the new health center, not big donors. It will be an ez campaign to push through the student gov/body, since it doesn't require increasing fees just keeping a fee in place that an incomming generation of students doesn't know is going to expire.

Maybe we can be a little more pro-active than the promotions department and put this board to use. Is there anyone out there who is part of the different service/spirt organizations on campus that can carry out this "tagging" campaign? Talons, NT40, student goverment, student chapter of NTexecs?

We didn't really deserve a top 25 vote the last time we got one. I'm not sure that poll is even structured to give votes to teams that "deserve" them. When UNT got votes in the past, it was the follow up to a bowl win.

Lets start with the campus. The dorms are fine but how about every classroom? At the very least a spirt organization should leave a note (green marker/chalk) in every classroom the week of home games.

This is the stupidest thread you've ever started. DD to K-State two years after they win the B12 and go to a BCS game. Urban Meyer to NT a year after taking Utah to a BCS game. He'll turn down Florida, but say yes to UNT. I guess this proves, that you don't know squat about college football.

I just like how they ramble on about wanting more and more. We win conference championships, they complain about OOC games. We win bowl games they complain about not being ranked high enough. I must have missed this golden age of when UNT was ranked by the AP week after week, year after year. Or this great string of coaches that won and lavish praise on the fans. Or these fantasic fans who backed Fouts every week, and lets not forget about all those donations. You people find something to cry about every week. All DD has done is win giving the situation our school is in. And while fan support is growing are you ready to stay its at a level that's above criticism? DD's a players coach, and he really does see it as him and his little football team against the world. If you don't like what he's saying, prove wrong. Pack fouts. Lead the SBC in season ticket sales. Travel 3K to away games. And be there for the bowl game.

And all of our other coaches haved sucked. No one likes to say it, but this is UNT's golden era. 4 straight conference titles and bowl appearances. 3 straight winning seasons. 3 straight 1000 yard RBs. 2 straight national rushing leaders. The other coaches couldn't complain because they didn't have those type of numbers. And for the most part our fan base is kind of crappy. We have one of the lowest attendence averages in the SBC. We don't bring in that much money in donations. And fans are ungrateful for what we do have.

Poor me. Dickey didn't give me a kiss after the game. Boo friggin hoo. Y'all come on this board a bitch about the fans too. You complain how not enough people show up for games, or don't get there early enough for you liking. How people leave trash in the parking lots, or don't wear the team logo you like. You call for the coaches head every other week. You say things like SBC wins don't matter or this team is an embarassment. We don't travel to away games. We don't show appreciatie for what we have. Is it that hard to imagine the head coach might get pissed at some of the fans too? If your one of the "good" fans, you get treated well. You get to go to little banquets and speeches. You get letters in the mail from the AD department. But if you think our average level of fan support is as good as half the other D1 schools, let alone a 4 time conference champs, your sadly mistaken.

I just don't get. No one likes to loose. We took some bad losses this year (FAU, Baylor). We also had some mitigating factors (Smith's death, Cobbs injury, summer suspensions). Why is it so hard to accept those mitigating factors? The only person on the anti-Dickey side who has ever made any sense is Rudy. Is stance that Dickey can't get us to the next level, seems to be the only rational argument being articulated by the anti-DD side. Like I said next season will be the test, this season should have been. Sure we loose a QB, but our running game should be the best in school history.

Because our frigging QB died and everyone was bummed out for a while! How hard is it to get that threw your head. Do you know anyone on team? Have you asked them, what they thought was up? Lets not forget we lost our starting RB and it took Thomas a few extra weeks to fit in to D1. Had bad things not happen in the off season, things would have been different. Dickey has done a great job of getting the team focused and winning again.

Beads, you say? It as if we we're trying to start a tradition all our own. But wait, we must steal our traditions, tortillas and goal posts. We mustn't do anything orginal to celebrate.

The "ex" Dickey hater post should go something like this. Uh, I have this friend who went to Texas. And he, uh, made fun of me. And then I was all mad and stuff cause we lost to FAU. And uh, I wanted to win every game. And I know y'all kept posting how some really bad stuff happened in the off season. But I wanted to win like every game. Oh wait I already said that. Uh, Uh. Well I still don't like loosing OOC games.

And that's what this riot I'm planning is all about. Bringing people together. And after this bitter divied election what the Mean Green fans need to go on a senseless destructive rampage, but not against our goal post. We must fight the real enemy! [holds and tears picture of Lou.]

Forget the gaurds, students will have to get past the ushers first. It's lame to tear down the goal post, when your the four time conference champ. We should redirect all this destructive energy towards something usefull, like tearting down Lucky Lous. God I hate Lou.

Don't fool yourselves with the frat house story. Zook was canned because of constant pressure and calls for his head. Spurier is/was available, so the Admin looked for the first reason it could to dump Zook and make room for Spurier.
