I’m hearing Aune has been with 1st team more this week. My starters predictions are going to change next week

So we can expect your final update somewhere in the middle of the first quarter of the game 😈😇

And yet I am downvoted several times for pointing out the simple fact Adaway should be eating almost all of Torreys reps! Some people either feel threatened here by new ideas, or they are cool with the status quo. If Aune isnt as good as Mason Fine, he shouldnt be starting. Mason is now the gold standard here. You play guys till you find that guy. Aune isnt that guy, I am sorry. Most of our scores did come in the 2nd half of play, its just a fact. Its like our offense in most of our games didnt even show up the first half. You can blame it on a lot of things, lack of blocking, lack of receiving outside of Darden, too much Darden. You can slice it up anyway you want. The fact of the matter is until Ruder shows he isnt the answer, he should start, for the simple fact we know what Aune can and cant do.  If Ruder struggles yank him, but doing the status quo is not going to win us six games. Playing Adaway instead of Torey and Roberts instead of Pirtle makes a world of difference.

It's not the message that's getting downvoted

I dont understand the love for a Kid who isnt that good, and why they would rather him see action than a guy who was clearly more sought after out of HS. Ruder deserves every shot at PT, we know what Aune can and cant do. We have no clue what Ruder can do.

Just wondering if you think trying to piss off people and act like an ass is the right way try and make your point? How about you focus on what Ruder can do and stop trying to bad mouth others. At the end of the day, if you are a Mean Green fan, your hope should be that the player who performs best plays.

Does this seem right?  How does this work?  Picked a couple for comparison purposes.  Two profiles.  One joined over 4 years ago, the other 2 hours ago.  One has 1.3K posts, the other has 20.  One has 864 reputation points and 9 badges, the other has 21 and 3.  Both are equally ranked as Apprentice.

I believe the rankings are based on activity since the "upgrade" not all-time

I don't get the dire predictions for the B12.  They lose their 2 biggest names and cash cows, but it is still a viable league.  They will be behind the SEC which they already were.

They stand pat at 8 or pick up two to four teams and still will be one of the top conferences around.   I think they would be very competitive with the PAC10, B10, and AAC.

This is likely to be the SEC as the P1 and only, and every other league far far behind.

If they could get Cinci/Memphis/BYU/UCF they would be better than the Pac10

The B12 schools just need to calm down.  Yeah, losing UT and OU is huge, but they still have a pretty good situation if they stick together.  They still have good fan support, they have historic rivalries, they can expect multiple ranked teams in football and basketball at any given time, they will still be a multi-bid team to the NCAA Tournament, they will still have a better chance than any G5 conference to get a team in the football playoff.  Why would KU leave that to join the MWC?

If you were SMU and Houston would you leave the AAC to join a "G6" B12 for the chance to play the Texas schools?

I think what Baylor and TCU would prefer, if left out of the true power conferences, they would be like BYU and become quasi-power in their own minds. If you are private, have lots of money, and can tap into some church leadership, the reality is that independence COULD work. I don't believe it would be successful here because we don't have the support. All the alumni numbers, student enrollment records, and local citizenry that has grown tremendously has never moved the needle much at all here. Heck, we get about 2% of the alumni that care enough to give back. That's why it doesn't feel like it would work out here. But for the big monied privates with church affiliation, that seems very doable.

Interesting. I know they are not well thought of here, but add Liberty and you are talking about a group who could possibly pull this off.

Interesting, thanks for posting.  A little surprising, and if I had the time, I would want to examine that a little more closely.

That said, B12 fan support still blows away fan support from any G5 conferences.  Houston attendance is typically in the lower 20k's, while a typical Saturday in Ames, Iowa will draw around 60k.

No doubt. Outside KU Football the other programs have fairly good FB programs. Found this in an SI article -

Texas annually puts nearly 100,000 fans in the seats for home football games, a top 10 program in terms of attendance. Oklahoma is mid-80,000s, a top 15 attendance program. After that, no Big 12 school has averaged 60,000 fans per home game from 2017-19. Iowa State, West Virginia, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State all have been in the mid-to-high 50,000s; Kansas State, Baylor and TCU are the next tier; and Kansas is its own mud flat of apathy.

I’m trying to compile some more information before making a record prediction, but one thing I will say is it looks like this is the best we have been in the trenches since 2013.

We return a 4-year starter at center, 2nd-team all-CUSA Right Tackle, and 1st-team all-CUSA Defensive Tackle.

Our offensive linemen collectively have 78 career starts entering the season, and our defensive linemen have 62 starts collectively. Not to mention we have a handful of defensive linemen who were offered or signed with P5 schools out of high school, which we have never had as long as I’ve been following the program.

There is a good mix of experience and talent on the lines that I think is currently flying under the radar, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Best talent in a year with 3 very likely unwinnable OOC games.
