So I went to Topeka to visit my brother for Thanksgiving. He is a reporter for KTKA and today I shadowed him on his job. Anyways to make a long story short, I started talking to one of their sports anchors and she asked where I went to school. I told her that I just graduated from UNT and she said, I quote, " Oh...the Mean Green". I told her I was shocked that she knew our nickname and I told her that some people call us the eagles. She was very surprised by that. She said obviously those people just don't know what they are talking about. This is great mean Green Nation!!! They know who we are in Topeka, Kansas, know if we could just get everyone else on board!!!!

I think the assumption in this whole thing is that Nelson is employed as a car dealer at a dealership. He could be employed as a janitor or a maintenance person. I don't think anyone would see that as preferential treatment. -
Not sure if its still the same but back when the Ridge was Jefferson Commons it said in the lease that the security gates were just there. There was no real or implied liablility to be placed on the property for their function. As far as I remember, those gates have always been open. I can't remember when they were ever functional.
