I am not happy with last season, but I am not going to dwell on it. Lets take a quick look at some of the problems wit the 2007 performance: Defense: fired that coordinator. Looks to be bringning in someone who is a known commodity. Special Teams: offered a scholarship to a kicker. Team Speed: Recruiting arguably the best class ever at UNT. So am I pleased with the 2007 results: NO. Do I feel that changes are being made now to fix those problems: yes. And as far as awe inspiring, I would say the fact that TD assembled a pretty kick ass offense from Buick parts. Yes it got stopped some, but I am postive that another year under Vizza's belt will really help out. And another year for that O-line will really help. My point is that things have never looked brighter forUNT athletics, and you continue to piss and moan about the FIU loss. Get over it. You got your expectations up, didn't take a realistic look at the limitations of the team headed into 2007; and you got bummed out. Get over yourself.

Crayton proved today why he will never be anything more than a 3rd receiver.

I suspect that if we can sign all those six foot tall athletes (who are all very fast), that kind of athleticism would greatly improve our special teams coverage. Still need to improve the kicking game. And special teams would really rock if we could force more punts.

I can't wait to see the Denai residents protest a stadium that can hold 55M. The athletic department probably showed their model / concept to some design firms and asked for an engineering estimate; which would give them an idea of roughly how it would cost (plus/minus 10%). That way they would know about how much cash to go raise. Once the construction drawings are complete, they will have constructions firms quote building the stadium that is depicted in the construction drawings. That will be the cost.

No Dodge won't recruit him because Mallet's dad already indicated that he will tour 3 - 5 schools, which include: TAMU, UCLA, Texas and Arkansas.

So why is it that our schedule won't be released until after 2-a-days have started? And folks with season tickets won't receive their OOC tickets until the week prior to the game?

Much like the question we are asking this week, will he bring his UH staff with (no Texas ties); or will he hire some folks who are more familiar with the area. Doing the latter could really put some recruiting distance between us and them.

If Jones has been Orsini's target all along, then I can feel a little bad for them. If not, then Orsini should be fired. He canned Bennet in October 2007. Bennet was the first coach to be fired, all so that they could sort this out before recruiting season. Jones is going to turn them down, and then they are gonna have to ask Coker/Fran/Shula," we really wanted you, please take our money."
