I saw young men who put themselves on the line. These guys play hard. A lot of youngsters out on the field getting a lot of playing time. I see a lot of heart.

Good Read and the O-line gave him time to make a quick throw the ball. I like Dodge having the confidence in Vizza to throw out of the endzone 5 yards deep. What can you say about CAsey and then Brock laying it out on the line. This was a great team win. The wind was a big factor last night. Stiff wind blowing north made punting and throwing the deep ball impossible for both teams. Mendoza had his boys ready tonight. They executed a great game plan. Kudos to the D.

Meager goes Huge and UNT wins big time.

That is really surprising. I expected Ark. State to win.

Boise does a decent job of working in their freshman QB ( at least tonight against Southern Miss.) in the first quarter and half. Vizza needs quality time on Saturday. I would love to see him start but Dodge is going with Meager. It will be interesting to see how that works itself out against Arkansas.

Maybe it wasn't about beating him out that wasn't accomplished, maybe he was neck and neck but just lacked the experience!!!!

Our defense was much better tonight. Tackling was pretty good. They played well enough to win the game.

TT throws for 646 passing yards and loses. We throw 61 times tonight but nothing vertical. Any one can those stops and screens and have a a lot yards and a great completion percentage but what does that really mean? When we try to throw it vertical we get them intercepted or do not complete.

Let's let giovanni start and throw him to the wolves. That kid might explode in that kind of atmosphere. He has to get some real game action before his first conference start. He doesn't need mop up duty. He needs to know that its his turn to go and lay it on the line.

TCU has a freshman red shirt QB who has no experience at the collegiate level. I am not surprised by their lack of passing yards. TCU likes to run the ball and play ground control, at least I think they do. TCU overrated this season? Not really sure, they are having a weird season.

I think Dodge's plan all along was to spoon feed Vizza and give DM his chance. Vizza starts against Arkansas. On TV vs. OU he made some mistakes but the look in his eyes was that of a poised kid. His arm strength and toughness was seen on TV. This is DM's fourth fall on campus. He made high school mistakes against a high school secondary in SMU. Then on those scrambles tonight, he just threw it up for grabs. DM does not close out games like a red shirt junior should.

We noticed the same things in this game and in the OU game. Meager has no leadershio qualities. Tonight in the second half, Vizza was the only player to talk up and yell encouragement to the OL and the WR's. Vizza has the winner look in him on TV vs. OU and what I saw on the sidelines tonight. You could tell Vizza was dying to get in the game. Dodge, however, is going to stick with Meager for one more game. Not sure but that is what our group talked about after the game. How many games has Meager won at the high school and collegiate level? Meager made bad high school mistakes tonight without a doubt.

I wonder why SMU will defend our two QB's differently? (Phil's comments to playing UNT)

If you guys would actually READ the post it say "Vizza was the first true freshman ever to throw a TD in his FIRST GAME." Even a woman knows how to read and look up stats!!!!!
