  1. The winner of each conference gets an automatic bid which would be 11 teams. Have one at large team that would basically be a wild card for 12 teams or two at large teams that have a play-in game to narrow the field down to 12 teams total and then go from there.
  2. Many stadiums that were built after World War I and World War II were named Memorial stadium in honor of those veterans who fought and died for our country. I realize we need the money from a donor and therefore the name of that person or corporation will most likely be the name of our stadium, but how great would it be to have the first modern day Memorial Stadium in honor of today's heroes that fight for our country.
  3. I don't think there is a guaranteed way to get invited into a better conference. I got invited into the WAC after my first season and declined and since then I have had 3 undefeated seasons, being ranked as high as number 2 in the final polls with heisman winners and many all americans, having top ten recruiting classes and getting North Texas up to a 6 star program. After 4 total seasons and having only lost 1 game which was to LSU in the first season, the WAC invite has been the only one I have gotten, but at the same time I'm sure there are other people who have gotten an invite into a better conference than the WAC in less time so I don't think there is an exact way of getting into a better conference. Just keep scheduling top 25 teams for your non-conference games and win every game, thats all you can really do.
  4. Those are really nice pictures....of nothing at all
  5. I meant more along the lines of being a so called "mid major" program and in conferences that don't get much respect from the Big 6. When comparing CUSA and the Sun Belt to the Big 6, those teams probably don't realize who is in what conference anyways for the most part. Notice I said "relatively" in my original statement, because I definitely don't think we are in the exact same position as them but relatively, yes I believe we have enough similiarities that we should be playing each other on a regular basis.
  6. Even more sad that this jersey is only offered for kids and not adults. Makes sense as to why the fron number looks so tiny though.
  7. Thanks, I'm hoping that the picture on the website has just distorted the appearance but in the back of my mind I'm thinking that it is what it is. Aside from my dislike of the appearance of the number, I do have to say that from what I can tell from the picture that it appears the way the jersey is constructed is much better than the jersey on sale through meangreengear.com. The Voertmans jersey looks like a much more authentic structured jersey.
  8. I agree, I think when we discuss playing SMU and TCU on a regular basis we should add Houston to that list because the 4 of us are relatively on the same level and would make for very entertaining football...and maybe plant the seed for future conference plans.
  9. I have the PS3 version of this game and to me it's great. I was very disappointed with last year's NCAA because of the gameplay itself and because it lacked features that were in the 2007 version for the PS2. I feel like NCAA 09 for the PS3 at least is back to where it needs to be for a next gen system, although I do wish create a school was on the game because it was always a good way for me and my friends to have perfectly equal teams and allow play calling and skill to be the only factors that affected the outcome.
  10. Just saw this jersey for sale on the Voertmans website. Not sure how long it has been available, but unfortunately it still doesn't come close enough to the onfield counterpart. The number itself looks like it was made to be on a pee wee jersey. UNT football jersey
  11. It's because I got that SKILL...excellent play calling on my part
  12. Don't hate on the Irish just because they have more national titles than any other school. (Yes I'm a Notre Dame fan and would have gone their if I a: had a 4.0 in high school or b: was filthy rich haha)
  13. Well I don't want to brag but I just started my dynasty last night with North Texas and beat Kansas State 47-26 with Vizza throwing for a little over 400 yards, 3 Tds and 2 INTs as well as Fitz hauling in a little over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. I'll keep my fingers crossed that my PS3 can predict the future
  14. Any chance they said Texas State referring to just the fact that he played his college football in the State of Texas. Maybe not but I think it's possible they just didn't choose their wording correctly. Come on P.Cobbs!!
  15. Well even though I attended every home game during my 3 years at UNT for free, I never left the stadium wanting my money (or tuition) returned to me because every game was truly a great experience from tearing down the goalposts to celebrate a conference championship to 2 and 3 win seasons...but hey if the school had offered to refun my tuition I certainly would not have told them no haha
  16. Well you definitely would not get more students to come to the North Texas games seeing as how students get in free to all sporting events, although I guess you could refund tuition
  17. Well I will take your word for it because like I said, I have no real reason to believe otherwise. All I want is to be able to purchase an authentic jersey like so many fans of other schools are able to do.
  18. You may be right. I have no real evidence otherwise but I just graduated last year and being around the campus and seeing the transformation of apparel in the bookstore and of what pretty much every athlete wore would suggest that we do not simply purchase from them. Again, you may know more about it then I do, but being on campus it does appear otherwise because there was a dramatic change in choices of clothing at the bookstore at the same time Dodge came to UNT and along with him came Under Armour. I can understand purchasing uniforms and apparel for the athletes but why would the bookstore also follow suit and start selling what I would guess to be about 40-60% Under Armour without some sort of deal between the university and UA?
  19. That is ridiculous because you can clearly purchase collegiate UA jerseys from their website for the four schools that they have listed. I realize that the demand for a North Texas jersey is not going to be the same for the other four schools that they list on their site, but it would really be nice if our sponsor would allow some availability to get actual UA jerseys to match our teams instead of a knock off.
  20. Best case scenario is that future installments of NCAA Football for the PS3/XBox360 will have the option to add onto or construct a new stadium for your team as you build it into a more prestigous program. In that scenario, I think us getting a new stadium in the next couple of years is very possible
  21. Exactly, it's not as if people don't sit in the endzone stands because they are too far away from the action. People don't sit there because there are plenty of seats available in the sideline sections of stands. When we fill up the endzone sections every game for a season, then we can talk about the need to make modifications to how they are angled and where they are located.
