  1. A few days ago we got 3 puzzle pieces but only 2 public commitments. Any knowledge on what the status of that 3rd one is?

  3. He announced he's entering the portal. A bit late to the game as other QBs have been doing visits and already making public commitments. Either he was encouraged to move on, NIL money dried up for him at Texas, or he wants playing time and sees that won't happen with the golden child coming up.
  4. Agree 100%. Kentucky has done well lately and he should get immediate playing time. They recently had a WR transfer get drafted in the 2nd round so the NFL potential is there. And like @GoGreenBeanssaid, they got a big QB transfer and it appears he was part of the Maclin recruitment.
  5. Did you ever consider that was, in fact, not the money? Penn State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and South Carolina offered and he still picked a basketball school. Maybe he just likes the fit at Kentucky.
  6. Ok now hear me out... Maalik Murphy of Texas entered the portal and then we announce a 5th commitment?
  7. 2 more coming. He's listed as an OL on the TCU 2023 roster. https://gofrogs.com/sports/football/roster/jasper-lott/15239
  8. I just have to ask, why is your salt shaker wearing TCU colors?

  10. I'm confused by this comment. Rogers picked UNT over Cal last year so he didn't use us to get a step up. Maybe he just wanted to play close to home for a year and now wanted to play in a bigger conference?
  11. OL from SFA has committed. I'm guessing this is the steak @TheReal_jayDreferenced.
  12. I understand the apprehension. With the amount of P5 players in the portal nowadays compared to during the previous system, I think it's reasonable to assume there will be more P5 transfers who will become impact players at their new schools. Will our staff get the right guys? Time will tell. I do, however, find it funny how we look at a school like SMU who elevated their play with a bunch of P5 transfers but our P5 transfers are being doubted. Many of SMU's P5 transfers were not impact players at the P5 level but they became that at SMU. Look at our recent DB commits like Brice and what they have in common is length. What we really need now is linemen with size to transfer in. If we can elevate the DL play, our defensive backs are going to feast next season. Edit to add, I think Brice is our 3rd commit in the past week who played QB in high-school. That, to me, is a big deal considering many schools play their best athletes at QB and the intelligence it also takes to play that position. I think our coaches are going after the right attributes.
  13. Two guys shooting 50% of your shots means either the ball isn't being spread around or others aren't passing off good shots too much. I think we've all seen our guys pass on open looks and then somebody ends up chunking up bad shots due to the shot clock. We got away with it Perry, doesn't mean we ran a good offense. Now it's being exposed.
  14. I don't know, maybe I got comments and usernames mixed up. All I'm saying is, there's not statistical evidence that justifies Jones and Edwards taking the amount of shots they take with the amount of capable shooters on the team.
  15. I'm not saying they shouldn't take shots, I'm asking for the ball to be spread more. Scott is 4th in 3 point attempts despite making nearly 50%. Buggs only has 42 total attempts despite shooting 40.5% from the field (Jones is 40.7%). Noland is shooting 41.1% from the field. Spread the love some and make the defense guard everybody.
  16. Your "facts" aren't as valid as you think they are. In 3 of our 4 losses, either Jones or Edwards took 16 shots. In 2 of those losses, the one who didn't shoot 16 times still shot 13 times. They're point guards. They should be distributing, not combining for nearly half of our shots. I watch plenty of basketball. This is not standard unless your best offensive players are absolute studs. Jones and Edwards are good players but they're not efficient enough on a regular basis to justify 16 shot attempts.
  17. I disagree. And there's no reason for any player to be shooting 13+ times in a game unless they're on fire.
  18. Minutes and field goal makes/attempts in our losses: Fordham Jones 35 minutes 3/16, Edwards 31 minutes 5/10 Boise State Jones 30 minutes 6/13, Edwards 27 minutes 6/16 LSU Jones 38 minutes 5/16, Edwards 32 minutes 5/13 St John's Jones 29 minutes 3/10, Edwards 29 minutes 3/11 Wins: Miss Valley State Jones 29 minutes 6/10, Edwards 24 minutes 3/8 Angelo State Jones 24 minutes 2/8, Edwards 25 minutes 3/10 Towson Jones 29 minutes 4/8, Edwards 27 minutes 6/11 Omaha Jones 37 minutes 4/10, Edwards 11 minutes 1/3 Northern Iowa Jones 36 minutes 5/11, Edwards 24 minutes 6/10. On the season, Jones has 86 field goal attempts. Edwards has 82. Scott has 86 and the next closest is Noland at 56. What's the point of all this? Our point guards are shooting too much.
  19. Outside of Perry's knack for hitting the late shot, I actually think our transfers have done a pretty good job at filling the holes with the exception of post presence. Don't know what's up with Sissoko but I'm going to reject the notion that Ousmane would be doing any better. I'd like to see Buggs get more shots. Edwards off the bench is a perfect place for him due to his ability to get to the rim and more importantly, get to the line and shoot efficiently from free throws. Edwards is arguably our best free throw shooter and he by far leads the team in attempts, he has 39 and the next closest is Allen with 24. We've lost 4 games by a combined 11 points. I'm not going to put the blame on any player but I will put the blame on the coaching staff. I feel as though they need to take a step back and better identify the roles of each player. Some guys should have a green light from 3 but Edwards is not one of them. I would, however, better trust Edwards getting to the rim than just about anybody else on the team which is why I'd want him off the bench to break down the defense when they're clamping down on the perimeter. Again, it's up to the coaches to help them because the talent is there but adjustments have to be made.
  20. https://247sports.com/player/wyatt-young-46129482/ Offers from Rice, Tulsa, Memphis, Arizona, Army, Air Force, WKU and some FCS schools.
  21. Rogers' ULM stats weren't overwhelming either. Seals' completion percentage has gone down since his first season but during that 2020 season, he completed 64.8% of his 287 pass attempts, all of which was against SEC opponents. There's a lot of positive to work with if our coaches would go get him.
  22. I sure hope this isn't the hold-up on Seals. With respect to Williams, his D1 playing experience does not compare with Seals'.
  23. We've got 3 commitments so far today. One should be a DL commit. Per coaches on Twitter. Edit to add a proper source for the DL comment as well:
