As a student I don't have a good feeling about student attendance at the remaining games... the only hope is that MAYBE we will turn out because the game is televised on ESPN 2 and that is a rarity in these parts. If we win the next three then attendance may come back, but most students here are bandwagon fans. The team is improving and we see that, but a lot of students will say, why waste the time in going until we're actually good consistently. High hopes, last night was a letdown.

We have a safety in Marcus Trice who hasn't played in two years. We have a starting cornerback who was a running back until the fall in Zac Whitfield. We have a transfer from a JOCO and other freshmen and sophomores sprinkled in the secondary that have no playing experience. I think our defense is playing far better than anyone expected in the beginning of the season.

I think a new chant is a great idea. As a student, I'm not sure on involving the alumni side, not because I want to be selfish, but... -Alumni attendance seems to be pretty bad -The alumni side already seem to be a bit apathetic towards getting loud and yelling -How do you teach alumni a new chant? (Not that it seems like they're doing any of the current ones). I would be in favor of something similar to what FirefightnRick posted on page three.. "Go Mean Green, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" or something such as.

Greetings GMG.com! First post here - currently a Junior at North Texas. Student sentiment towards the program has changed much even since I have transferred here last year. Students are getting excited about the football program and where it is headed... in fact, North Texas sports in general has a fair amount of excitement all around! I do hope the rise in student attendance continues - and it should, so long as we keep making the right moves. What some students did during TSU's Alma Mater was embarrassing and I hope we can cut that out. Also we probably need to cut out the profanity in the fight song, but I'm not sure the best way to go about that, and that's definitely a different thread topic. On SMU's attendance, do they charge an outrageous amount for tickets? Do students have to pay for their own tickets? Go Mean Green!
