  1. Yeah, 2015 is probably the worst example in RV's favor you could've given. Not getting any return home games out of these games is the problem. As others stated. Playing money games at P5 schools is not something to brag about scheduling wise. Especially when a school like Rice, pretty equal to us as a program and w/ less attendance, is getting Stanford, Texas, Texas A&M, and Baylor to play at Rice. Not saying at all that RV should be fired. Just saying that more fans should hold him accountable. And see what other schools, like Rice, and their ADs are doing. The worst thing we as fans can and often do is stay in our North Texas bubble and not pay attention to what is going on around us in our conference and in the NCAA. Then we believe everything RV tells us and every excuse he makes, because we don't know any better. It's for the best, including for RV. That being said, SMU and Army are solid series but they aren't our ceiling and we shouldn't settle there.
  2. This kind of mentality is why RV is untouchable here.
  3. 6'3" 200 lb receiver from Southlake Carroll. Holds offers from us and Louisiana Tech, per EJ Holland. Can't find any highlights, or much info, currently. At a school like Southlake it wouldn't surprise me if this is going to be his first season on varsity. Also, take the height and weight listing with a grain of salt. Usually younger kids' listed measurables are what they expect they will be when they're graduating, rather than what they actually are. But I'm sure he is a good-sized receiver. Also runs track and plays baseball. 4. I think Rutherford would've had more offers and interest as well if not for his grades. Getting him cleared was a big deal.
  5. I'm not expecting that. Not saying you are either, but Goree had over 1200 yards and 17 tds as a junior. Then scored 28 as a senior. Bendy is coming off a junior season in which he had 368 yards and 4 receiving TDs. Realistically I'm hoping for Bendy to be closer to O'Keeron Rutherford. Goree was a massive steal. Rutherford was a big steal too. And his growth from junior to senior year is hopefully similar to what Bendy's will be this year.

  7. Up to 11 scholarship offers. This would be a big-time pull.
  8. I agree. But I think we land a few of these kids who were visiting before the season starts. Jarvis Baxter is committing August 1st, and coming up here a week before his commitment date seems to be a good sign. The FloMo o-linemen (Barr and Curl), and D'erren Wilson. Plus maybe some others.
  9. See, that's the other thing. Saluone shouldn't have anything to do with Mcwhorter. Saluone is right at the top of my wish list, along with OTs Larry Hughes, Bryce Wilds, and Evan Curl. But Saluone is a nose/1-tech DT. Mcwhorter is a 3-tech DT, or strong side DE. I think we should lock up Mcwhorter and turn our focuses to get a stud nose/1-tech. One of the position we've had the hardest time recruiting (our starting nose and backup are both converted DEs). Here's what I think would be our best d-line class since Mac's been here: Strongside DE - Cheatum Nose - Saluone 3-tech - Mcwhorter Weakside DE - Miller
  10. Not a done deal until we see if the coaches accept that commitment. Hoping we find out soon sooner rather than later. He's good enough to take now IMO. The good thing about those 3, and the reason I hope we aren't slow playing Mcwhorter, is that they can all play on the line together. Miller at DE, and one of Mcwhorter and Cheatum will end up at 3-tech DT, and the other will end up at strong-side DE. I see Mcwhorter at 3-tech and Cheatum at DE. That's a strong d-line. Throw in a big guy who can play nose and you got a HAUL at d-line.

  15. This post spring depth chart (doesnt include players who were injured during spring) has Turner starting at free safety backed up by Chevoski Collins. Both have been dismissed in the last two days.http://www.burntorangenation.com/football/2014/4/21/5636732/texas-longhorns-post-spring-depth-chart-football
  16. I think that was someone making a joke. That was an NCAA deal, not like a run in with the law. Coaches can't handle that internally.
