  1. I'd be interested in having some real football input from Mr. Archie, X and Os, what defense to use it this situation or how the offense works here, nuts and bolts stuff. How often do you get a coach to help explain some of it to you. So many people get the basics of the game wrong.

Some day you may be fortunate to meet "hooknbull". He's an ex-NT player from the Hayden Fry era, who, if you ever sit with him at a game, will disect every X and O, and every defensive scheme known to man, each and every play. He really gets into the game and a very fine gentlemen to know.

  2. Surprise! Surprise!

There is some talent here but, other than Rose and Venegas, very little experience. Banks, Drake and Peachey played with the green team line and that's about it. But, that's a good nucleus to build from and I think that they should be the starters...Rose at center, Banks and Drake at the guards, and Venegas and Peachey at tackles. Foster is a comer and according to the writeup, Menard will be a player. I also believe that Johnson and Tomlinson will eventually be starters and possibly all-conference types.

The rest are pretty suspect. It seems doubtful that Alexander or Crumes will be a part of the mix due to injuries. I believe that I saw Chris Eidd out there and he does have a ton of potential IMO. I don't know about Stewart. He only weighed about 260 last I saw and that's about 30 pounds light for the o-line. Tyler Bailey seems to be an adequate backup. Glass is strong but undersized with little chance to add bulk. Oops, I forgot about Carlson, the overgrown tight end. He might help. Short of walkons, that's the crop.

Come the fall I think that we could have a decent two-deep but until then....

Did I read somewhere on this board that Ajani Banks will not be with us in the fall? ;)

  3. Just a thought...Todd Dodge threw to receivers wearing a white helmet at Texas. And he had his quaterbacks throw to receivers wearing a white helmet at Southlake Carroll.

I wonder what color the helmets were at his Beaumont high school ?

Dodge played for Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson HS. And yes, I believe the helmets were white.

  4. I don't understand this at all. I'm not a "big donor" by any means (but I am consistent!), and have parked in the Green Lot for many years. There's still plenty of parking spaces in that lot. It goes all the way to Bonnie Brae so there's plenty of spots. Why move the tailgaters out?

  5. Ok, here was the response from their editor to my e-mail questioning our omission:

Thanks for your email. North Texas, as well as many other

schools, should be on the list. It was an oversight/miscommunication

between our editorial staff and our web programmers. Sorry for the

error. It should be fixed shortly.

Good luck to the Mean Green.

Greendylan, you did such a good job getting North Texas on the list, do you think you could get the editor to put our logo on there too? Give me his email address and I'll send him our logo. Son of Worm must be displayed.

  6. Because if a QB's natural inclination is to get "happy feet" when someone is within a few yards of him, then it's going to take a lot of drills to change that.

Or, get another QB that is accustomed to the rush, yet focused on his target(s).

  7. On the other extreme are the Ohio State uniforms. They look too cheap to be used in an intramural league.

It's sad, Ohio State has so much talent, is currently ranked #1, but will be doomed to lose because of their hideous unifoms.

If Ohio State is ranked #1 in hideous uniforms, then Syracuse has to be ranked #1.1. Those things were ugly, especially with the big, bold ORANGE on the front.
