  1. Golf has gone nowhere for several years now, why not look for a replacement for our current coach. If we could get this guy, why not go for Lamar's Brian White. He recruits very well on the international golf trail and is successful in just a few years at Lamar. Lamar has been solid in the Southland Conference and a contender at the NCAA regionals, not to mention the Cardinals just finished tying for 3rd place at the NCAA Championships. Brain was head pro at the Beaumont CC for several years and an assistant at Lamar before taking on the Lamar Golf re-build. According to the Lamar website, Brian heads up the men and womens golf teams.

  2. I really think for Dodge to go to Austin, he will need to take us pretty darn close to the promised land.

See, I disagree with that. I believe after a couple of very successful years, maybe three, at NT, Dodge heads to Austin as one of Mack's top coordinators. Maybe Mac's Assistant HC. A few years under Mac and then everything is in place for a natural transition to the head position for Dodge.

  3. If we can support women's softball we can support men's baseball

    PERIOD

This picture of the softball stadium is high schoolish and is only full of fans because we were playing OU. I'd rather not add baseball unless, 1- we can fully fund it without scraficing other programs/facilities, 2- If we build a first class facility. No more high school stuff.

  4. "She believes UTA is a sleeping giant," added Mansfield ISD athletic director Debbie Weems, who Morrow replaced as Mansfield's coach in 1993. "There's a lot of potential here with the athletes in the area.

Why are athletic programs who have not done very much considered "sleeping giants"? It's a worn out phrase that UNT falls under and that I have even used.

  5. Easy Quoner. I said my reaction was more "seat of the pants" without research. I'm not knocking the guy. Are we basing the rankings for 2007 solely on what happened in 2006? Is this post or pre-season rankings? I'm assuming we are talking football only. Right? Anyway, here's mine -

    1. SEC

    2. Big 10

    3. Pac 10

    4. Big 12

    5. ACC

    6. Big East

    7. MWC

    8. WAC

    9. CUSA

    10. MAC

    11. Sun Belt

  6. How? The Big 12 failed to beat a single OOC opponent in the top 25 last year and labored to beat Minnesota and Iowa in bowl games. The Big 12 was a toilet bowl last year within the national picture and the Big East had 3 top 10 teams with Louisville and WVU returning most of their talent. I don't recall a Pac 10 school losing to a Big 12 school either - unless you count that Oregon thing no one likes to talk about...

I thought he laid out his case pretty well.

You really expect me to research this stuff? Forget it. This is just my overall feelings, using more than just last season to rank the conferences.
