Let's not forget that Boise State had a vision long before the zero u victory. Their president's publicly stated vision 4-5 years ago was to move to the MWC. Heck, he's probably changed it to the Pac 10 after last season.

YOU guys are right about waiting after the 2007 season BUT it sures makes good conversation.
Interestingly enough, I was just wondering what were we talking about this time last year. Anyone know?

Good coverage for North Texas and the turn of events with Riley's move. BTW, old Bob must pay attention to this board.
Phillips, Dodge give PA News distinctive Football 2007 cover
Bob West column for Sunday, July 1
The Port Arthur News
A couple of former Southeast Texas quarterbacks who have made it big in coaching — PN-G’s Wade Phillips and TJ’s Todd Dodge — will be the coverboys for the Port Arthur News’ Football 2007 due Aug. 30. Making that idea work could have been complicated if Phillips wasn’t such a good guy. Apprised that we were trying to work out the logistics of getting he and Dodge together, either at the Dallas Cowboys Valley Ranch site or at North Texas’ new practice facility, Phillips volunteered to go to Denton. With the help of another former Southeast Texas QB — TJ’s Damon West — who provided transportation to what was his college stomping ground at North Texas, the shoot came off without a hitch. Wade even agreed to pose for some publicity photos for the Mean Green with some of the kids attending Todd’s summer camp. The cover shot, meanwhile, is a unique one of an offensive genius going head-to-head on the chalkboard with a defensive whiz . . . Dodge, by the way, apparently is going to wind up with the state’s No. 1 QB in the 2008 recruiting class. His son, Riley, who earlier made a verbal commitment to Texas, has backed off and intends to sign with North Texas. According to quotes from the Southlake Carroll senior on a UNT message board, he told Longhorn coach Mack Brown this past week that he’s decided he wants to play for his dad. The addition of Riley means Todd now has nine early verbal commitments for next year, something that is totally unprecedented at North Texas. While it’s nothing for upper level Division 1A schools like Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma to load up on early commitments, it rarely happens for schools at the mid level. Dodge has created quite a buzz in recruiting circles with the pledges he’s received. They are, of course, non-binding, but my guess is he’ll retain most and maybe all of them.

I think some are pulling the trigger a little too quickly in predicting Vizza's future or possible lack of a future at UNT.
I agree. I see Todd Dodge as a very ethical person. He recruited Don Giovanni Vizza to play QB for UNT. Vizza will get a fair shot at the QB position and Coach Dodge will go with the best person for the position. Remember, this is D1A college football, not high school.

The best thing is now we get to talk about it for a week before we get any comments from Todd or Riley. This topic should get us through most of July now.
No comment from Todd. He can't talk about recruits.

Matt must be from Smut. Bitter little man.

What an amazing time for the program! All Dodge hire doubters please come clean and we will all forgive your sins... how anyone can question this hire now given the unprecedented publicity and recruiting is beyond me. How can you not be excited about the future of this program!
He's just a high school coach.

This would have to be a future concern for Vizza, Meager, Tune or any of the other 10 QBs on the roster. The WRs on the other hand are probably giddy.
Not trying to start a war, but I really, really like Giovanni Vizza.

And whose to say Cantu will not follow Riley to NT?
-
I hate to be a pessimist but keep in mind this is an "oral agreement." Just like the one he just broke with tu.
Agreed. And whose to say Riley will not follow Cantu to Oregon?

According to a TxTech supporter on SETXSports, if the Riley to UNT rumor is true, Riley drops to a 2-star recruit.
"this is a wise choice in my opinion...he would never see the field suiting up for UT...
the only sad thing is that with his decision, he will now become a 2 star player..."

Which board are they talking on?
orangebloods is one of them but you have to subscribe. Do it Emmitt - for the good of the green.

Guarantee me that win over Navy and I could care less about a smut loss. Beating Navy will get more publicity for us.

Wonder how much of the $226 million is being funded by ESPN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Big Ten, etc., etc.

Without starting a whole new debate, I firmly believe that the interlocked exes logo with the star is the best current logo of all.

"The Hatchet" from years ago, and Jonas Buckles.

Least we forget, Texas broke in a new quarterback against us last year.

Does he have Sicilian roots?
What do you think?

Don Giovanni will lead NT to the promised land. I look for him to see significant playing time this season. No one will touch Don Giovanni.

Forget the stats, for the pure enjoyment of watching quality receivers that could catch just about anything thrown their way, I'd have to say Barry Moore, Ron Shanklin, John Love, and Johnny Quinn were the very best to done the Green & White. These guys were good! With the DD run based offense, you have to give additional props to Quinns' accomplishments.

Where would one find a list of these ad/marketing/promo companies? My daughter works in Dallas and is looking to make a change. She's a TAMU Marketing Grad.
