  1. New England had the most decisive victory of the playoffs thus far. Brian and company look like a real force. They have to beat likely Baltimore and then Green Bay. I think they can do it. I still hate that the Cowboys didn't pick him up. Their guards were horrid this year. Anyway, i am now rooting for the Patriots for Mr Waters to get a ring.
  2. Bump, might I suggest this be pinned every year Great info
  3. Who was it that knocked Derek Thompson in the ark st game?
  4. Ark st is looking strong even with the "unreviewable" blown spot
  5. Really a -5? Really? None of this crap means anything when it is attached to a bad football program and nobody shows up for the games. I feel terrible for everybody that does any kind of pre-game dog and pony show right now at Apogee... I'm there 30 minutes before kick just about every game...BUT NOBODY ELSE IS... it has to be completely deflating for the football team to come out all fired up and see an empty stadium... but hey, the band is there... maybe even wearing uniforms... wow. wanting all this stupid crap above and beyond what the band is currently doing is just silly. I don't come to watch the band, but I completely acknowledge how good they are. Give me good players and a good ensemble over stupid looking uniforms and quasi-military marching around any day of the week and twice on Saturdays. btw, has anybody ever noticed that we STILL, for the last 30 years or so had the best drumline in the world...period end stop? anybody? but, you guys have to harp on the fact that they aren't wearing clown outfits... look, we all want to have what ohio state and wisconsin have... of course we'd want 100 years of awesome tradition and 100k fans at every game. I can tell you this much though...when I have gone to those Ohio State games, I come away remembering the game and the roar of the crowd, not those stupid band and drum major outfits... Give me a break, -5...
  6. My entire family is from Columbus, OH. Both my uncles have degrees from Ohio State. My father still makes fun of them cause he was "too smart" to go to Ohio State, but he still took me to countless games at the shoe growing up. When you look at what they are wearing and what they are doing, it just looks silly. What makes their "pageantry" cool is that it is attached to an awesome football program with millions of passionate fanatics. All I'm saying is that we should pave a different "pageantry" path. Our band already could play circles around the "best damn band in the land". To me, the traditional pageantry represents the era of us not being successful and/or being shunned when we were successful. We just need to go a different pageantry path. Lets be different than the traditional powers to try and pave our way to the big time with different, more up to date type of traditions. I think this old version of "pageantry" is just silly looking when you just look at it out of the context of a hundred years of success and huge fan followings... we don't have that success, so lets just see how things end up without having to try and mimic those that already have the success that we want.
  7. A truly top notch football team will get people in the stadium. What the band is wearing doesn't matter one bit. I think they should just be comfortable. If they are "uniform" with kaki shorts and a t-shirt in the heat or have matching jackets...whatever. who cares? If the football team is destroying everybody, nobody will notice what the band is wearing cause nobody will take their eyes off the field or the scoreboard...and then during half time when the band is on the field, everybody will NEED to take a restroom break and get refreshment cause they didn't leave their seats during actual game action.
  8. Yes yes yes... 10 or 11 wins every year... If we win, it won't matter what "club" we are in. Win and dominate... Our alums will notice...all will take care of itself
  9. Nice analysis... Brooks seemed to have some real potential... that was a HUGE bummer. I like how you left it open ended for him to possibly resurface. that would be nice, but I'm not holding my breathe. Our O-line looks to be in good shape for the next couple of years. 1 played every game(?) and 4 others redshirted plus cam feldt? wow man. That should be a lot of beef to come in and provide lots of competition and depth. Maybe we can get Vito to stop referring to QB at UNT as being the most dangerous job in America... and of course, turn the next crop of RB's into stars! we shall see about the rest of the d-line recruits. I wonder if any of these DE's will end up being DT's. Interesting...eat boys eat... I am very interested to see where cooper jones ends up on the team. Intriguing size and all...and rated well out of high school. Guess we'll see... spring football story lines
  10. Not a rumor at all... Dmac said it himself on the Monday radio show that cooper may be moving positions... He seemed intriguing cause he was a 3* qb with size
  11. I wonder how many walk-ons earned schollies... Could that account for the difference?
  12. very good sir... very good... if we had one left, I'd choose between the highest rated defensive player available that wants to come to U of NT... dt or safety Azuka or Leo would by my last spot...IF IF IF we only had one left to pick from. I don't know why, but I am comfortable with Derek Thompson and McNulty/Osborn/whomever is left as my QB depth chart. I think next year may be a big qb class... hopefully they could come in next fall, red shirt while watching DT in his senior season put up monster numbers, and then really begin competing for PT the following year... Of course that means go o-line and rb's go as far as pass protection is concerned...
  13. We have three left.... I have confirmed this with Vito... Who confirmed it with the staff... 23 ships minus 18 hs commits minus 2 xfers equals 3 left to fill
  14. Vito confirmed it for me... I have whipped that guy with tons of email... Yes, Trice and Feldt count against the 23. We have 3 left to give...
  15. I love the fact that DMAC and staff scouted and offered this kid before June Jones got around to it...Does that mean the DMAC is out working the SMU staff? or does that mean the Jones was busy trying to leave smu and is desperately trying to fill an O-line position last minute now that he found "god" and is staying at pink polo U... I supposed we'll see how much DMAC and staff have connected with this kid now... We have a slight advance cause of first contact and first to offer between us. Plus, I think seeing U of NT beat someone 5 bazillion to -5 might help too...(even though the stands were empty cause it was cold and rainy) Any small victory over a regional rival is a good thing... especially one that has a seat at the big boy table(even if they don't deserve it in any way)... I still maintain that building a team starts with the Lines outward... and DMAC should crow about this one on signing day...pay no attention to the fact that we lost in another recruiting one on one prior to this kid. Go Mean Green!
  16. In this order... I'm ok with no QB this year... Secondary and DT are my main wishes to finish things out... Please SantaDMac? Please? I promise to be a good boy this year... DT: Azuka Akozar http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/125261/azuka-akozar http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5442598 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Azuka-Akozar-123356 S: Leo Thomas http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/126936/leo-thomas http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5563915 http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Leo-Thomas-121032 DT: Aaron Curry http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Aaron-Curry-121936 Also, did anybody else notice that Malik Dilonga is listed as a DT on ESPN? scout and rivals list him as a DE... Just curious if anybody else noticed. I didn't know if it was because ESPN doesn't care or if they know something scout and rivals don't know... http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/137911/malik-dilonga
  17. If they distance soooo much, how come they still crow about the pony excess days and all that they accomplished? Mac needs to keep a hold of this kid, then crow about it on signing day!
  18. Does he want a coach that has been whoring himself all over the country and a maxxed out fanbase consisting of 5 spoiled babies wearing pink polos sitting on their hands all game long?
  19. Man, what a finish... 50 yarder
  20. 1st Cut - Positions of need, and these guys would be awesome additions... #1 - DT Aaron Curry http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Aaron-Curry-121936 #2 - DT Azuka Akozar http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Azuka-Akozar-123356 http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5442598 #3 - DB Leo Thomas http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Leo-Thomas-121032 http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5563915 #4 - CB Deon Sanders Jr http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5598708 Next Young Men... If the 1st cut goes elsewhere... Tight End and then QB next on the depth chart in need... TE Trevor Stevens http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Trevor-Stevens-100274 http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=5284911 QB Je'rod Evans http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Je%27rod-Evans-134004 PS, isn't it awesome to be down to 4 sports by early to mid December? wow man, just wow.
