That is very true! I have been impressed over the last couple seasons at how the pit crew has grown and gotten louder. Good job! I have watched a couple Duke and NC games and while it appeared the students stood the whole game most of the other fans were seated. In emotional moments and the last couple minutes of the game the crowds would stand. That doesn't seem much different than games at the pit. The Duke and NC games are louder probably because 1) larger student turn out with a tradition to be loud, and 2) larger attendance so there are more lazy fans that are seated and cheering.

Good points... It does give some hope for our "little craphole football program." It's not all green right now, but it's not all sh!t either.

Unless they start getting the ball to Eric and Tristan more, I see us spliting the next 4 games. Mangrum added a spark to our team's hustle. He may have got beaten a few times, but when he was on the court it didn't seem like we were playing as flat footed. Also, does anyone think we are a team that can run the shot clock to 10 before starting our offense? Seemed like we were constantly up against the shot clock Saturday. We do this more often than not.

Agree, at least with Rice. After going down to Houston in September and seeing their stadium for the first time in person, I seriously doubt they would back out of coming to Denton because of Fouts. Attendance is not an issue either, they showed up with 16875 (~1500 of those were UNT fans) and have a hard time averaging >18k a season at home.

My problem with having the playoffs use the bowl games is that teams would then participate in multiple bowls when they currently don't. While this would relate to more money for that college and it's conference members it would take away from the other coferences. The total money paid out would stay the same, it would just shift a higher percentage to the teams/conferences that makes the playoffs. Thus further dividing the "haves" from the "have nots". All that said, playoffs are the only way to pick a true champion and I think its funny that HS and FCS have playoffs but FBS doesn't.

That still pisses me off! My understanding is they had all the equipment necessary to review replays except a monitor court side.

I think the Pit is great. I believe as a multi-event venue the ~10,000 seating serves us well. How many HS graduations do we run through there in a typical May? I bet those bring in a good chunk of change... I agree with your suggestions for updates. We need bigger screens, a better sound system and better lighting. Just imagine strobes and rocking bass when they announce the line up. Right now the only flashing lights are those setup around the ceiling for Yeatts when he takes pictures.

Very good point... The team that showed up against Jackson State, Houston, and SHSU was not focused. But I'll take being unfocused and going 2-1. The team that showed up against NMSU was a completely different team. If that team shows up more often, we will be dancing in March.

We have appeared lazy at times and it has cost us. Lobing passes during a press, not blocking out under the basket, etc... We have streaks of great play, like when Dominque took the 1 position for a few minutes last night (some great drives and passes in the paint). But we just didn't seem motiviated against either Jackson State, Houston, or SHSU. One game, sure, but 3 in a row has me worried. I have faith we can beat NMSU, just depends on how the men show up.

I'm there... My parents are both SHSU alumns, but they'll be cheering for the Mean Green tonight.

Mack Brown went 1-10 his first two seasons with UNC and was there for 10 seasons and 6 bowl appearances (well 5, but coached the season that got them the 6th).

So I heard them announce in the 2nd quarter that the Spring game would be on Saturday, April 4th. They mentioned another event and then said that tickets for these and other events could be picked up via the ticket office. Are they really planning of selling tickets for the spring game rather than having it for free? Or did I just hear that wrong?
