I'll add that I think there's a ceiling for recruiting in CUSA. It is expected that we will lose a lot of battles to higher tier G5 teams and/or lower tier P5 teams. Sure we may pull out a win every now and then, but that's just the way the food chain works in college football. Our main goal should be to do more with less. Continue winning and hopefully position ourselves just right when the next round of realignment happens.

I can see weather having an impact, but not to the tune of 5-8k less people. We got our butts handed to us the week before and people took notice and decided not to waste their time. You can't lose a game that bad and expect North Texas fans to come and show up the next week. That's never been the case here and won't until we make significant progress and maintain it for several years.

I truly believe this weeks lack of attendance is caused by the FAU hangover. Had we won that game we probably would've had another 5-8k at the game. This is the exact definition of fair weather fans. Until we get used to winning and grow our "diehard" fans, it will continue to be this way.

Maybe instead of scheduling the Alabama's, Oklahoma's, and Georgia's we can afford to schedule more Iowa's, Indiana's, etc.

He also mentioned that they had great practices throughout the week, but the players have to make sure they stay focused all the way up to the game. Maybe I'm reading into that too much, but I would say he's also pissed about the pictures that came out showing players hanging out at the pool.

When you get beat as bad as we did everything is subject to scrutiny. Especially things that are out of the normal protocol. That includes weekly preparation, pool hangouts, wife outings, personnel, etc. If they don't like it, don't get beat that bad.

Doubt it. This coaching staff and AD are young, but they let the fans down tonight. Handle business then have fun.

At this point, if we make it to a bowl game I hope it’s in Idaho so we can’t get distracted.

This game went down hill when we didn’t convert the 4th and 1 in the first quarter. It allowed FAU to score again and completely killed our defense.

Also, where is McClain at? He’s supposed to be a leader but has completely disappeared.

Losing a close game is one thing. Getting blown out by FAU is ridiculous.

IMO this isn’t even about Mason. Yes, he’s not having his best game, but anytime the opposing team put 41 on you in a half, there are bigger problems.

Linebackers are too slow getting to the RB. Not attacking or being aggressive.

Do your job!! Defensive line is soft and couldn’t hold Denton High on 3rd and 2. Secondary is slow and can’t tackle. I don’t care if another miracle happens and we somehow win this game. You should be embarrassed.

Yep. We’ve completely lost this game in the 1st quarter. I’ve never seen a performance this bad. Defense has got to be one of the worst I’ve ever seen. No fight.

Let’s pack it up and go home. Poor playing and even worse coaching.
