  1. TV announcer talks during the slo-mo replay expecting to see pass interference ...never sees pass interference ... reaffirms his belief that it was pass interference.
  2. What the hell, Scrappy? Skipping hand-in-hand with the opponent's mascot is the kind of thing Eppy would do.
  3. Maybe Morris demoted Caponi at halftime in the tune of the Avocados from Mexico jingle.
  4. We have the facilities for other schools to be competitive in. UAB looks impressive today.
  5. Now that you mention it, there is a certain Tudor Electric Football quality to the way they move.
  6. I'm so grateful we aren't bowl eligible. This defense is a never-ending Ray Guy kick to the nads.
  7. My favorite plays are when our defenders are in the right position but it doesn't matter because we can't tackle.
  8. Actually, we're second worst behind USC. At least we were before playing a juggernaut like UAB.
  9. Maybe. If our quarterback led the second worst performing offense in the entire FBS, would Morris keep him as the starter for a second season to prove himself? Probably not and the same should apply to Caponi. Demote him or fire him and give someone else a chance. He's never even been a DC before except for 2008-10 at Division III Washington & Jefferson. It might not be the right coaching job for him.
  10. Ha! Got a little carried away. It only felt like 5,211 yards a game.
  11. It shouldn't take a home run hire to replace the coach of the second worst performing unit in the FBS. I was going to say worst but I checked and USC has taken the bottom spot at 5,266 yards to our 5,211. That performance got Alex Grinch fired with two games left in this season. Coordinators are not head coaches. They don't deserve multiple seasons to prove themselves. If the results are dismal, give 'em the Bathroom Monkey treatment and order a new one.
  12. I guess it's possible that, like Dez Bryant, he made a football move. But when do refs ever call it that way and say that what happened out of bounds did not matter?
  13. It wasn't in the end zone, though. Watch the zebras on any catch where the receiver goes out of bounds. They focus on them all the way through hitting the ground before signaling catch or incompletion. The rule should be that what happens out of bounds is irrelevant, and if you have possession when you go out it's a catch.
  14. If the receiver falls to the ground they have to retain the ball throughout that process. It's a dumb rule but they always call it that way.
  15. Is there a guy standing next to you holding your Diet Coke?
  16. Didn't know Tulsa is 17-7 against us. In my memory we made many crossings back over the Red River with their heads on a pike.
  17. I'm finally ready to say it: I have some concerns about our defense.
  18. It's a victory that isn't moral and when the game is over you are crying happy tears in your beer instead of sad ones.
  19. It was a bummer to lose that one but I loved watching the Mean Green climb all the way back and take the lead. It gives you confidence that the resilience and pugnacity of the team has carried over from last season.
  20. How many regulars here ever had their butts in Fouts cheering for North Texas when Fry was coach? The closest I get was being a kid who watched a few games on a UHF channel when Bill Mercer was calling the games, and Fry left when I was 11 so I might've watched a Jerry Moore- or Bob Tyler-led team.
  21. North Texas has the 11th best offense in the FBS by total yards per game (471.3). If we had an average defense instead of the one giving up the most yards in the FBS (477.7), I could see us having 3-4 more wins.
  22. I don't think Traylor is a big enough name. A&M reaching into the G5 to get Traylor would be a lot like when Florida did the same to get Napier. Napier was 40-12 in four seasons at Louisiana. Traylor is 37-13 in four seasons at UTSA. There is one important difference -- Traylor has connections all over Texas and Napier didn't have them all over Florida. But I don't think that will get him the job over much bigger names in the P5. It also doesn't help that the Gators currently stink under Napier.
