  1. Having seen both these players live twice as they beat the Decatur Eagles I can tell you that Miller is the real deal. He looked like a man playing in Pee-Wee against a solid defense. No one player could tackle him alone and for the most part two players could only slow him down a little. He is fast and has great vision in addition to being a load to bring down. He is every bit of 190 at this point and looked like he gained size between the regular season and the playoffs. We should all hope that he makes NT his home. Stoffles lacks some of the vision needed at LB, has several trap plays that looked like they caught him off guard and he over committed on a lot of plays. That being said he more than made up for any mistakes by making big plays at the right time. He could easily add 20 lbs without any problem. He would be a above average pick up but would need to red-shirt in order to build the size he would need at DL and learn how to read the play on the field.
  2. I know most have gone home and blown up their TIVO but if you are one of the ones that has not watch the first 10 min of the third quarter. Coach Fry was in the booth and for almost 10 min they talked about how far UNT has come. They talked about the new facilities (showed cgi film of the athletic center and new stadium) and even said that if you are a High Schooler in this area that you needed to check out these facilities. Went on to say that several teams that have National Championships would trade facilities right now if they could. They also talked about how good UNT has always been academically. This coupled with the shots from around campus (except for the fools playing flag football instead of being at the game) was the best commercial that the university could have had. The game was not the best and we lost to a solid Troy team. I for one am not ashamed of how the Mean Green played tonight. These boys are young and need to learn the college game, next year will be better not great but better, but when these freshman and sophomores are juniors and seniors, the Mean Green are going to have some major upsets and prove that the sky may have dipped in 2005 but it did not fall. Be supportive of these kids they are 18 and 19, hell when you were that age you could not even get into the bar more or less read a blitz package. Give them a year with our support and it will get better, beat them down with how horrible everything is and that their coach sucks, the QB could not hit the side of a barn and all this crap and you will make it come true. Remember that not only do the players read this board so do the recruits. Have and outstanding day and GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. The Phi Delta Theta Fraternity did this in the 90's when North Texas played in Texas Stadium. I know we raised some great $ for ALS. The school loved it. We ran the game ball and there were two flags as well as I recall, One Phi Delt and on UNT. I think we sold one mile legs for $10 ($30 per mile) or something like that and the high bid won the right to run the game ball on to the field and give it to the coach. It was a lot of fun but also requires some work to contact all the police departments and let them know what you’re doing. In fact through Hickory Creek and Lewisville we were given a full police escort lights and sirens. On year two we even made NBC 5 news. This would not be a "borrowed tradition" but a continuance of one started a while back. when we played close enough to run the ball from HOME to the game. AND MY CHEAP PARTING SHOT. There should be no problem with getting Dickey on board it will fit in well with the run, run, run, punt scheme he likes so well.
  4. I have 2 tickets to the OU Game tommorow at 6pm in Norman, OK. They are on about the 10 yrd line about 60 rows up. These were given to me at work and I was told that I already have plans. (wife planed it for me and I did not know.) First come first free tickets. I live in Decatur and will meet you in Denton if needed. I do not like OU anyway but a free ticket (and no MEAN GREEN game) to see a game in Norman was something I could not pass up I am leaving a job in about 30 min and I will be going from Dallas to Denton to Decatur.
  5. yes you can send me any ideas you want. Or better yet bring them to the tailgate and I will pick them up.
  6. As you know I own a sign shop. A roll of 24" x 50' (6 year) vinyl only cost me $75 so the cost is not an issue. I have the branding already and you will have at least 200 at the tailgate around 5 (my son has a football game so I will not be there before then). If I have time I will also cut some Mean Green and North Texas as well. I am not going to sell them, these are free and for promotion of UNT only. I am going to cut them out of white because it will show up better on glass. Other items can be cut on a one a one off basis. Just get a list of what you would like and I will see what I can do. By the way I also do digital prints so I can print your photos as well.
  7. Drop me an email I will paint it for you. ian@heresyoursign.net
  8. LSU-North Texas Football Game Postponed Due to Katrina Courtesy: LSU Interactive Release: 08/30/2005 Courtesy: LSU Sports Information The rescheduled date will be determined by the two schools and an announcement is expected within the next 36 to 48 hours. BATON ROUGE -- LSU's football game versus North Texas, originally scheduled for this Saturday night, will be rescheduled due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina and the need for the LSU campus to participate in the recovery efforts, LSU announced Tuesday. "The scope of this tragedy is becoming more evident as time passes, and LSU's focus is on assisting in the recovery effort of our state," said LSU chancellor Sean O'Keefe. "LSU is a primary evacuation site and we are not going to conduct any activities that could deter from our mission of assisting in the recovery mission." "The events of yesterday and this morning have made it clear that this is not the time to play a football game," said LSU athletics director Skip Bertman. "This is a dire situation that rivals any in the history of our state, and our priorities are on participating in recovery efforts." A number of locations on the LSU campus, and athletics facilities in particular, are being used in the recovery efforts for Hurricane Katrina. The Carl Maddox Field House is a Special Needs Shelter and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center has been designated as a triage unit for medical emergencies. The Bernie Moore Track will be utilized as a helicopter landing site for medical emergencies. In addition, the traffic resulting from a football game could seriously impede the movement of emergency medical vehicles coming from the New Orleans area. The rescheduled date will be determined by the two schools and an announcement is expected within the next 36 to 48 hours on the planned date.
  9. No TV just radio. Something about a internet feed for $30, I do not know any details.
  10. 9:15 am Levey breaks. expecting 8-10 feet throughout the French Quarter reported by ABC news
  11. Other that the "HERE KITTY KITTY KITTY" What other signs would you want to see made and delivered to LSU? I am also making a "Emerald Express"
  12. Field Cam Used this link, worked fine. Last loaded: Fri Aug 12 08:52:02 CDT 2005 Looks like the yardage is going in. Nothing in at the 50 nor the endzones yet.
  13. Prestige, win/loss, and talent have nothing to do with it. I have won 48 straight, 3 Sun Belt titles, a NATIONAL TITLE, 3 Heisman’s (Jamario twice and Joe Odom once, and my current Sophomore is 3rd in the hunt this year), 2 coach of the year, finished 2006 ranked 15, 2007 ranked 2nd, and 2008 1st. Going in to 2009 started ranked 14th ( Currently 5th). I have only had one game where anyone in the belt was within 35 points (ASU this year) I have made all my out of conference games against 4 ranked Big 12 teams (this year TX, OU, TTech, and TaM) and then the highest ranked team I can find (USC, FL, and Iowa ranked #1) In the last two years I have had a recruiting class in the top five. I AM STUCK IN SUN BELT HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate playing game where I have 42 points by half and have the second team in. In 2008 for best offensive lineman I have the to 8 of 8 that means my second team was better than all other teams first team. If I do not get out of the belt after this season where I am undefeated and only have OU left to beat other than 3 Belt teams I will have a version for sale cheap. (just look outside in the pasture, that is where I will throw it.)
  14. I need a flag, if you order I am in.
  15. I was one of the 9 guest on the trip last year to Texas and this is well worth the $50 for the chance. We had a great time.
  16. if you look in the purchase your jersey now thread you will see home and away versions of the jersey.
