  1. We can use this to motivate like George S. Patton.... "I do not measure a man's success by how high he climbs, but how high he bounces when he hits bottom." - George S. Patton "Accept the challenges, so you may feel the exhilaration of victory" - George S. Patton but if UNT traditon keeps in place will use it to demodivate..... Posters from www.dispair.com
  2. I used to own a sign shop, and still have the plotter, mag roll, and vinyl. can you measure the door and I will make them the correct size, I am guessing about 12-18" would be the correct size.
  3. I have the Orginal Flying Worm (thanks Smitty), What size would you like the mag's. I will make them and figure out a way to get them to you.
  4. JohnDenver, Send me a side shot of the bug and I will put the Orginal and the SOW on the side so you can pick. Then the mags will be forthcoming. Still looking for a good photo of the Orginal as well.
  5. If anyone has a good image of the orginal Flying Worm that I can recreate or better yet one in .eps or .ai format that can be arranged free of charge.
  6. As "The Biggest Jerk on this board" who started the band looks like... thread for the last two years I have to pipe in on the look last night. They looked much much better last night. With the matching green shirts the off shade shorts were much less noticeable. I made the comment to my friends as we were in the stands last night that I was going to have to post that the band looked good. And as I posted last week they sounded good as well. Yes, I wish the shorts matched, (and I do not see why the professor in charge of the class can not require a certain brand, style, and model number as part of the requirements of the class; kind of like I am required to buy a certain author, volume, and printing on a text book. Hell, shorts cost much less that that lab book, but I digress) with the band all in the same shirts they looked good. For those of you that thought I was such a jerk last week, you have to admit that the band looked so much better last night.
  7. I was in Vortemans on Saturday and did not see any UA gear. They have a great selection of vairous color green (forest, sea foam, kelly, ect) t-shirts. A very slim selection of polo shirts mostly black or blue. I tried to go to the bookstore but they were not open on Sunday. I ended up finding two diffrent UA shirts at Hibbet Sports on Ford Street in Decatur. Those were the only UA shirts I have seen. But I was not looking for UA shirts in particular so there may have been some I missed.
  8. You know last year after posting the below I thought maybe the new unifoms were not in or that something that I did not know about may of happened, and I had a little regret. Well now any regret went away yesterday on Lindsey Ave in Norman. We were standing there having a grand old time discussing how much more media coverage we have recived since Coach Dodge came on board and how it feels like a new attitude has moved in to Denton, when we hear the very distinct march of "The Pride of North Texas" So as we all line up along Lindsey and the OU fans join us, through the sea of red, we see white. White freaking t-shirts. Then the black shoes and socks. Then the rainbow shorts. After being asked what the two fingers and thumbs being held up mean, I am asked when our band is going to get in to uniform. As I hang my head and explain that what you see is the uniform for our band today, the laughter starts followed by " you have got to be kidding me". There is a distinct change this year, from last. The band actually sounded great and the on field perfomance was very good. After the game we went back to Lindsey to watch the end of the K-State game when the band came straggling out in pieces. Then one of the Tuba players comes running out screaming like an idiot. Green Brigade suporters are going to be pissed and say that we always bash the Band. WELL HERE IS THE WAY TO KEEP UP FROM BASHING THE BAND; 1) Support the Team on the Field 2) At least act like your intrested in the game 3) Look like a team (in Uniform) 4) Realize that you are on stage from the time you get off the bus with the team till you get back on the bus 5) Have Fun Act like your part of the school and take pride in your team and maybe just maybe the rest of us can get behind you as well. OK now I will step off of my soap box and go back to just observing and reading the board. "Did anyone who went to Austin notice the following about our band? "The pride of North Texas" 1. Were in t-shirts 2. The t-shirt had a bull on the back (we were playing the longhorns) 3. All wore black socks and shoes 4. All wore a diffrent color and style of shorts. 5. Played music that is unknown to the common football fan. 6. Did not sound all that great. I am by no means a band expert or fan for that matter so it may have just been the heat that had me in a foul mood by halftime. But overall apperance of the band was crappy and the sounded horrible. Next time if they are going look and sound like that I wish they would not travel. I am not saying that in 100+ heat that they should not be in shorts but at least get the same shorts for the band, it is called a uniform. By the way UT was wearing the same shorts and a polo styled shirt with their white socks pulled all the way up so they looked silly as well but at least they matched."
  9. Sounds like football weather to me. Cool with some rain. LOVE IT.
  10. Seems to me we get exactly what we pay for. Low Pay = Low exes membership.
  11. With how many people are unhappy the the Exes this falling apart (in the business world it is called restructuring) may be a good thing. It is time for all of those who have bitched and complained about how bad this group is to step up and try to do it yourself, and they will even pay you to do the job. No, I am involved in anyway with this group just hate to hear people bitch and not step up when the opportunity for change arrives.
  12. Looks to me like the positions that require skill are right up front. Defense is where momentum starts and ends. Each player must read the offense and adjust to the lineup and motion. The line stops the run. The Linebackers support the line in stopping the run AND support those pretty boys who can run fast behind them. Those pretty boys knock the hell out of anyone who makes it through. O-line is the key to a passing or running game, these individuals must be able to read the defense and change blocking schemes based on the defense and for most blitz packages there are 2-3 different blocking schemes that can change after the ball has snapped, and they all must operate as one and have the same thought as each other. Any small pretty boy can catch and run, hell only learning to run a pattern for each play with maybe one check off if a blitz is identified by........anyone........the Offensive Line most likely the center is easy. I will give you the QB. That position sucks. Have to be smart, a quick thinker, tough (well as tough as any pretty boy can be), and you are always the hero or the goat. Only skill required by the skilled players besides the QB is catch, run fast, and try not to get killed by the player with the real skill on the field.
  13. OK OK how about a Navy joke You know why the Navy allows Marines on their ships????? Because goats would be to obvious....... It is a destroyer looks like the DDG-11 USS Sellers the tell tale signs are blocked by the Y in NAVY. It is a game and we all need to step back and realize this, have fun with the Navy they are our opponent and I hope we do Sink them, more to the fact that they went 9-4 last year and they will have 13 senior starters from that team last year and if we beat them it will be a quality win. Having been in the Army I do not like the shirt and will not buy one, however, I do also recognize the right of any person to purchase and wear this shirt. That is what we fight for. I also support your freedom of speech to burn the flag of my country so long as you respect my freedom of expression to rearrange your face and internal organs.
  14. Lets do the run down Parking SLC Seating Capacity UNT Site Line SLC Locker Room SLC Turf TIE Concessions SLC Vending (t-shirt sales) SLC Band UNT Tailgate UNT What am I missing?
  15. Yet another reason to hate Navy. Graduated High School in Annapolis, Joined the ARMY. GO ARMY (and UNT), BEAT NAVY!
  16. Saw that billboard on 30th of Dec. It just goes to show the support SLC has. Before the state championship game there were 10 or so billboards that said "Go Dragons - Protect the tradition" on I 35 south.
  17. I am a Regional Manager in charge of high volume hiring for UnitedHealth Group west of the Mississippi. In other words I am a headhunter. I also have ties to a sign shop in Decatur, that happens to be looking for someone to work doing light graphics and production of signs.
  18. I wondered how long that would take.....
  19. It is time to "DUCK!!!!!! DODGE BALL HAS COME TO NORTH TEXAS!!!" - George D. on the ticket.
  20. At that size cost does become an issue. Just the blank for the banner will cost about $100. I have a 5'x15' banner that was ordered and then canceled so I have the blank just sitting here so I can do that. Again just waiting on approval. And if Dickey lives up to his name we can always do a thank you seniors. Let me know by Thursday or I am not sure we will be able to get it made in time.
  21. I own a sign company and will make a 10 x 3 banner for y'all. I will have it there for the game on the 18th. Just post exactly what you want.

  23. In one of my hotel rooms this week I was watching an ESPN College Gameday season preview where they were talking about the UNT v. UT game on Saturday. Kirk was the one who led off the discussion about the game with this remark. I sure hope this is posted on the locker room wall....... Give em' hell MEAN GREEN!
  24. I watched every game that Godbolt played when he played for Decatur. The kid is fast and tough. He will not be tackled by arms and the majority of the time it takes more than one player to take him down. I even saw the NT scouts at several of the games keeping stats. His injury at the end of the year was from a cheap shot by a Gainesville player who dove into his Knee. No major damage as he played the next week at about 50% speed, and he was still faster than most. I know that on the first score he had for Decatur he started to hot dog a little and Coach Story benched him for a good portion of the game after his theatrics. He was a model player after that. Liberty Christian made his parents an offer that they could not refuse for him to go to Liberty so he transferred his senior year, kind of sorry but he had only been at Decatur a short time. I hope this dosen't continue in college. Overall this is a good pickup and he should do very well at North Texas. He will need to be paired with a good roll model or he has the ability to become a liability to the team, I am sure the coaching staff is aware of this.
