Maybe this is the right time to remind everyone to be careful. We lost two or three of our students in a fatal accident one year. They were driving back from the New Orleans Bowl.

"For those reasons, students who want to leave Thursday to attend the game Friday morning may ride on a bus the university is chartering. To reserve a spot on the bus, students should register before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (March 14) at the Information Desk, University Union, third floor."

Yes, Emmitt....I expressed my concern to the manager of our MacDonald's (that is next to campus) last year when they remodeled and changed their color scheme from green and white to bronze.

INTERESTING! The original Green Jackets were not appointed. Members were nominated by current Jackets and voted upon by the membership. There were usually 35-40 members. I applaud this development. Green Jackets contributed to the welfare of the university in many ways.

Unfortunately...Green Jackets, a super spirit and service organization, died a peaceful death ca. 1975. Two big reasons: Other service organizations on campus were giving them a run for their money, specifically Tri Service and Alpha Phi Omega. Also...Talons, previously all male, began letting girls in. Why should you want to join an all-women's spirit group when you could join Talons and mix with the guys?

The light green the university is using looks weak. To be mean, black has to be used with it. That wasn't necessary with the forest green, which was mean by itself.

See...that's the problem with the new lighter green. It isn't mean, and to make it look intimidating you have to put it on black. PLEASE bring back the forest green.

OK....first let me say that I am absolutely delighted that we have pulled the coups we have in hiring Todd Dodge. I think he is the absolute best thing that could happen to UNT football. To suggest that I am unhappy about anything is poppycock...I am as happy as a clam. That said, the fact remains that the university (and, yes...that is the university not DD) made a commitment to Taylor Insall and we should have kept that commitment. It is unfortunate that Taylor was caught in a coaching change. It is unfortunate that honoring that commitment could possibly have left us with one less scholarship to offer to another player we wanted/needed. The fact is that this is a coach who is committed to instilling character in his players, and those who have true character honor prior commitments...regardless of short term inconvenience. In the long run, doing the right thing is always best.

We should have honored DD's commitment to Taylor Insall. That is the fact.

I didn't listen to the game, so I watched Channel 8 news a few minutes ago to get the score. They announced that we LOST 74-70 to WKU. If I hadn't logged on, I would have believed that until I read tomorrow morning's paper.

Zach...We are heartsick about this. Know that you will be sorely missed on the field, but we hope to see you on the sidelines. You have many, many fans in the mean green family.
