Skladany was fired from UCF a few weeks ago...

I'm going to start praying this isn't true right about....NOW!

Penn State just hired away UCF's replacement for Skladany, Ted Roof, who just left Auburn a month or so ago.

It's all kind of confusing, and I'm kind of hoping FootballScoop is just lost in the confusion right now.

Is there a connection between Mac and Skladany? Former teammates?Fishing buddies? Hope there's no truth to this.

Iowa State...which unfortunately makes this believable...other than the fact that the entire Mean Green Nation thought we already had a perfectly suitable defensive coordinator. I can't find anything on the internet about Clint Bowen leaving.

Could be hired as a defensive coach, and not DC. You normally have to take a step back after getting the ax, a la Coach Mac at USF.

UCF played an FCS opponent last year. Nobody even remotely related to such a substandard program should be allowed within 300 miles of Denton.
