Probably just idle speculation, but who knows. Maybe he has sources.

I'll gladly chip in to send JJ on a two month radio silenced cruise to Antarctica.

Someone should probably warn JJ that the whole "killed Osama" thing was just a hoax. Bin Laden is pissed, and he's targeting the greatest infidels of all: basketball coaches, their families, and their players.

If I were JJ, I'd get my family and the team in a panic room or a bomb shelter (ideally, large enough for a PURELY RECREATIONAL basketball court), completely fortified and cut off from outside danger. I'm sure this will sort itself out in a month or two, and everyone can come out and resume normal activities then.

If necessary, I'll put myself at risk of terrorist action, and promise to give a secret knock on the door so that JJ will know when it's safe again.

I've seen JJ on a lost of lists as soon as job opened up (ESPN insider, couple of writers on twitter). He's not on the top of the list but they may have a hard time filling that job. If it gets down to it, I think they would have decision to promote from within or go with JJ. No idea what they would do then.

My brother, who graduated from A&M, seems to believe that they are going after Iowa's HC. But what does he know he's an Aggie.

Today's DMNews reported that the two they are zeroing in on.....Murray State's HC and Northern Iowa's HC.

A plasma cutter (a.k.a - a ton of money) can tear through that iron.

Are there any schools left with that kind of firepower? I can't recall if Tennessee had hired anyone yet... kind of hoped they and Texas would have traded coaches after their tournament debacles. Pearl would have fit right in with Mack Brown and the boosters in Austin.

This is a bit off Topic...

But, there are quite a few Texas lawmakers that had a problem with the raise Rick Barnes was given this post season with the budget shortfalls of the state.

Texas makes a ton of money off of athletics and gives a good percent back to academics, but it's just a sign of the times. We might soon be seeing public universities under more scrutiny.

When are people on here going to realize that JJ has to win something more than a Sun Belt title (marqee match up in the regular season or a NCAA tournament game) to get a serious look with a Big 6 school?

Which, right now, I'm happy about (but times can always change).

Hey, I didn't float his name to the Houston Chronicle. I just posted what I read.

Wasn't directed at you. I'm sure JJ will continue to make initial lists (if there are any more vacancies this year), but once the other schools do a once over and realize, although JJ has built a nice program here, he has not taken it to the level they want their next coach to have achieved, they will stop looking JJ's way. .

That could all change in the next 2 years, though.
